High-average-power and high-energy lasers with good beam quality are fundamental tools for pumping high-peak and high-average-power ultrafast Ti:sapphire laser systems. Laser-diode (LD) pumped solid slate lasers with phase conjugation offer a unique combination of efficiency, reliability, and compactness. We present the design details and performance characteristics of a 360-W 1-kHz LD pumped Nd:YAG phase-conjugated laser. The well-known drift phenomena usually found in the InP-metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) devices can be explained by the assumption of a spatial and energetical distribution of slow states located within the insulator. The concentration of these states can be reduced by far more than one order of magnitude if a suitable technique of insulator deposition is applied. In this paper we will discuss the influence of the deposition temperature, the spatial separation of sample and plasma (“indirect plasma method”), and the addition of phosphorus into the reaction chamber during the initial period of insulator deposition on the properties of n-type and p-type InP-MIS capacitors. Plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposited silicon dioxide is used as insulator. The samples were characterized by means of capacitance/voltage (C(V)) and deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) measurements. Only minor hysteresis of the C(V) curves and concentrations of slow insulator states of only (1–2)×1011 cm-2 eV-1 are measured for the best of our samples. 相似文献

We study Pomeron-Odderon interference effects giving rise to charge and single-spin asymmetries in diffractive electroproduction
of a pair. We calculate these asymmetries, originating from both longitudinal and transverse polarizations of the virtual photon,
in the framework of QCD and in the Born approximation, in a kinematical domain accessible to HERA experiments. We predict
a sizable charge asymmetry with a characteristic dependence on the invariant mass of the pair, which makes this observable very important for establishing the magnitude of the Odderon exchange in hard processes.
The single-spin asymmetry turns out to be rather small. We briefly discuss future improvements of our calculations and their
possible effects on the results.

There is experimental evidence that the non-sphericity of certain atmospheric particles can cause scattering properties different from those predicted by standard Mie theory. Numerous studies indicate the need to consider the presence of non-spherical particles in modeling the optical properties of atmospheric aerosols. On the other hand, natural aerosols show a great variety of shapes, making difficult a realistic choice of a particle shape (or shape mixture) model. In this paper, we test a parameterization of the particle shape in the retrieval of size distribution, phase function, single scattering albedo and asymmetry parameter from direct and sky-radiance measurements. For this purpose we have substituted the Kernel based on the Mie theory included in the model SKYRAD.PACK by one derived for non-spherical particles. The method is applied under different atmospheric conditions, including Saharan dust outbreak, polluted and local mineral episodes. We compare the results with those obtained by the well known spheroids algorithm used in the AERONET network. 相似文献
