The copper (I)‐catalyzed azide‐alkyne cycloaddition “click” reaction was successfully applied to prepare well‐defined 3, 6, and 12‐arms polystyrene and polyethylene glycol stars. This study focused particularly on making “perfect” star polymers with an exact number of arms, as well as developing techniques for their purification. Various methods of characterization confirmed the star polymers high purity, and the structural uniformity of the generated star polymers. In particular, matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization‐time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry revealed the quantitative transformation of the end groups on the linear polymer precursors and confirmed their quantitative coupling to the dendritic cores to yield star polymers with an exact number of arms. In addition to preparing well‐defined polystyrene and poly(ethylene glycol)homopolymer stars, this technique was also successfully applied to amphiphilic, PCL‐b‐PEG star polymers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is employed as a tool in order to demonstrate yet another application of the technique, and, most importantly, to show that results from the statistical multivariate technique do make physico-chemical sense. The operation of a typical emulsion copolymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene (nitrile butadiene rubber, NBR) is used as an example of process troubleshooting. In more general terms, a statistical tool is used to aid process data analysis and process operation (recipe, product property) troubleshooting.

The goal is to produce consistent Mooney Viscosity (MV) among different batches. The observation is that varying induction times lead to Mooney Viscosity inconsistencies. Firstly, we show results from the application of PCA to process data. Secondly, we deal with an even more important (and often ignored) question by examining whether the trends indicated by PCA make process sense.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we present a systematic roadmap for developing a robust and parallel multi-material reactive hydrodynamic solver that integrates historically stable algorithms with new and current modern methods to solve explosive system design problems. The Ghost Fluid Method and Riemann solvers were used to enforce appropriate interface boundary conditions. Improved performance in terms of computational work and convergence properties was achieved by modifying a local node sorting strategy that decouples ghost nodes, allowing us to set material boundary conditions via an explicit procedure, removing the need to solve a coupled system of equations numerically. The locality and explicit nature of the node sorting concept allows for greater levels of parallelism and lower computational cost when populating ghost nodes. Non-linear numerical issues endemic to the use of real Equations of State in hydro-codes were resolved by using more thermodynamically consistent forms allowing us to accurately resolve large density gradients associated with high energy detonation problems at material interfaces. Pre-computed volume tables were implemented adding to the robustness of the solver base.  相似文献

Dibohemamines A–C ( 5 – 7 ), three new dimeric bohemamine analogues dimerized through a methylene group, were isolated from a marine‐derived Streptomyces spinoverrucosus. The structures determined by spectroscopic analysis were confirmed through the semi‐synthetic derivatization of monomeric bohemamines and formaldehyde. These reactions, which could occur under mild conditions, together with the detection of formaldehyde in the culture, revealed that this dimerization is a non‐enzymatic process. In addition to the unique dimerization of the dibohemamines, dibohemamines B and C were found to have nm cytotoxicity against the non‐small cell‐lung cancer cell line A549. In view of the potent cytotoxicity of compounds 6 and 7 , a small library of bohemamine analogues was generated for biological evaluation by utilizing a series of aryl and alkyl aldehydes.  相似文献

Desirable components for dye‐sensitzed solar cell (DSC) sensitizers and fluorescent imaging dyes include strong donating building blocks coupled with well‐balanced acceptor functionalities for absorption beyond the visible range. We have evaluated the effects of increasing acceptor strengths and incorporation of dye morphology controlling groups on molar absorptivity and absorption breadth with indolizine donor‐based dyes. Indolizine‐based D –A and D –π–A sensitizers incorporating bis‐rhodanine, tricyanofuran (TCF), and cyanoacrylic acid functionalities were analyzed for performance in DSC devices. The TCF derivatives were also evaluated as near‐infrared (NIR)‐emissive materials with the AH25 emissions extending past 1000 nm.  相似文献
