Summary If an electric field is applied between a horizontal heated wire and a concentric cylinder filled with gas, then, as first shown experimentally by Senftleben and Braun, the heat transfer from the wire is increased due to the electrostrictive forces which modify the circulation current of free convection. In analogy with the characteristic number of Grashof a new electrical characteristic number is introduced which makes it possible to represent the measurements of Senftleben and Braun in a single graph. From this graph the extra heat loss caused by an electric field of cylindrical symmetry around any horizontal wire in an arbitrary gas can be read off directly. 相似文献

A search for the decays γ→ρπ, γ→J/ψX and γ→γa (whereX is undetermined and a is an axion) has been completed using the LENA detector at the DORIS storage ring. Excitation functions AN(plab,c.m.) of the analyzing power in elastic proton-proton scattering have been measured in an internal target experiment at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY with an unpolarized proton beam and a polarized atomic hydrogen target. Data were taken continuously during the acceleration and deceleration for proton kinetic energies Tlab (momenta plab) between 0.45 and 2.5 GeV (1.0 and 3.3 GeV/c) and scattering angles 30 ° c.m. 90°. The results provide excitation functions and angular distributions of high precision and internal consistency. The data can be used as calibration standard between 0.45 and 2.5 GeV. They have significant impact on phase shift solutions, in particular on the spin triplet phase shifts between 1.0 and 1.8 GeV. 相似文献

In simulations of liquid metals, various model approximations, each of which justified by experimental results lead to a simplified two-phase flow problem. This paper discusses numerical justifications for these approaches and provides quantitative results for a single rising bubble as a benchmark. Representing a bubble as a rigid object is shown to be valid for low Eötvös numbers in contaminated systems. Qualitative differences can be observed for larger Eötvös numbers. Further simulations are undertaken with different ratios of inner and outer viscosity. The benchmark problem considered may also be interesting for more general applications. 相似文献
