Doping ZnO with transition metals (TM) is an obvious approach to produce diluted magnetic semiconductors for magnetoelectronic
and spintronic applications. We have carried out experimental studies on the fabrication and characterisation of Mn-doped
ZnO layers and V-doped ZnO layers and nanorods, the results of which are reviewed in this paper. From SQUID measurements,
both epitaxial and implanted ZnMnO layers show paramagnetic behaviour. Epitaxial ZnVO layers show ferromagnetic SQUID signals,
but the presence of any secondary phases in the ZnVO layers may not be ruled out. We also show that the used Al2O3 substrates produce a ferromagnetic SQUID signal, that complicates the analysis of magnetisation data and hence the confirmation
of ferromagnetism only from SQUID results.

The synthesis and characterisation of a homologous series of quinoid sulfur-containing imidazolyl-substituted heteroacenes is described. The optoelectronic and magnetic properties were investigated by UV/vis, fluorescence and EPR spectroscopy as well as quantum-chemical calculations, and were compared to those of the corresponding benzo congener. The room-temperature and atmospherically stable quinoids display strong absorption in the NIR region between 678 and 819 nm. The dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-d]thiophene and the thieno[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[3,2-b]thieno[2,3-d]thiophene derivatives were EPR active at room temperature. For the latter, variable-temperature EPR spectroscopy revealed the presence of a thermally accessible triplet state, with a singlet-triplet separation of 14.1 kJ mol−1. 相似文献

Herein, we investigate the use of visible light to indirectly drive ring opening in unstrained 6- and 7-membered ring systems via reaction with a transiently generated trans-cycloalkene. Identification of conditions that capture visible light energy in the form of ring strain was key to success. Under mildly acidic conditions, cycloalkenols were shown to undergo formally endothermic ring-opening isomerization to give acyclic exo-methylene and distal ketones or aldehydes in high yields. Ultimately, this work demonstrates the ability of cycloalkenes to capture visible light energy and its use to drive both kinetically and thermally unfavorable rearrangements.In this work, visible light drives a contrathermodynamic isomerization of the classic Stork-Danheiser products through an energy transfer process to yield acyclic distal enone(al) isomers. This is possible because the photochemical energy is transiently captured as ring strain as a trans-, or twisted, cyclohexene. 相似文献

Developing halogen‐free flame retardants with reasonably high efficiency, which thus function at limited loadings in polypropylene‐based wood/plastic composites (WPC), is still a challenge. Cost‐effective flame‐retarded WPC have been identified as a way to open the door to an interesting, broader spectrum of application in the building and transportation sectors. This work imparts a systematic comprehensive understanding and assessment of different basic routes to halogen‐free flame‐retarded WPC, taking into account economic and environmental considerations. Cheap, halogen‐free single‐component flame retardants and their multicomponent systems are investigated at reasonable filling grades of 20 wt%. The basic routes of promising synergistic multicomponent systems are discussed, and their potential and limits assessed. Optimizing the consistency of fire residue; closing the surface of inorganic‐organic residual layers; the thermal stabilization and design of the residue, eg, synergistic combination of ammonium polyphosphate and expandable graphite; and the combination of different flame‐retardant mechanisms, eg, intumescence and flame inhibition, are proposed as promising routes to boost the flame‐retardant efficiency. 相似文献
