The origin of hydroxyl group tolerance in neutral and especially cationic molybdenum imido alkylidene N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes has been investigated. A wide range of catalysts was prepared and tested. Most cationic complexes can be handled in air without difficulty and display an unprecedented stability towards water and alcohols. NHC complexes were successfully used with substrates containing the hydroxyl functionality in acyclic diene metathesis polymerization, homo‐, cross and ring‐opening cross metathesis reactions. The catalysts remain active even in 2‐PrOH and are applicable in ring‐opening metathesis polymerization and alkene homometathesis using alcohols as solvent. The use of weakly basic bidentate, hemilabile anionic ligands such as triflate or pentafluorobenzoate and weakly basic aromatic imido ligands in combination with a sterically demanding 1,3‐dimesitylimidazol‐2‐ylidene NHC ligand was found essential for reactive and yet robust catalysts.  相似文献

A new and unsual transition is reported in Ba2NaNb5O15: the crystal, which was previously known to undergo at 573 K a ferroelastic transition 4mmmm2 (C4vC2v), reverts back at 110 ± 5 K to a low temperature phase of 4mm (C4v) symmetry. Thus this crystal presents a unique example of a ferroelastic (mm2) phase stable in a wide temperature range (470 K) and sandwiched between two phases possessing the same higher point symmetry.  相似文献

The photophysical and photochemical behavior of 1-methyl-3-phenylquinoxalin-2-one (MeNQ) and 3-phenylquinoxalin-2-one (HNQ) in the presence of amines is reported. While HNQ fluorescence shows an auxochromic effect and a bathochromic shift with added amines, explained by association of HNQ with amine in the ground state and emission from both excited species HNQ and [HNQ-amine], both MeNQ and HNQ are photoreduced efficiently on irradiation in the presence of amines, leading to the semireduced quinoxalin-2-ones, MeNQH(-) and HNQH(-), respectively, via an electron-proton-electron transfer, with unit quantum yields at high amine concentrations. The semireduced quinoxalin-2-ones XNQH(-) (X = H, Me) revert almost quantitatively to the parent XNQ in a dark thermal reaction with an activation free energy for MeNQH(-) of 17.4 and 25.9 kcal/mol in acetonitrile and benzene, respectively. Kinetic and spectroscopic (UV and NMR) evidence supports the proposed reaction mechanism for the reversible photoreduction.  相似文献

Abstract— Absorption and emission spectra of several N-arylbenzamides have been measured. The quantum yields for their fluorescence were found to be dependent on matrix viscosity and temperature. Singlet-triplet splittings for these compounds were determined from their emission spectra and found to be abnormally small for π. π* states (˜ 1500 cm-1). Indeed, the phosphorescence maxima of N-arylbenzamides occur slightly to the blue relative to their fluorescence maxima. Intersystem crossing efficiencies were determined for several of these compounds and are consistent with S1→ S 0 radiationless decay.  相似文献

We fabricated a new class of supported membranes based on monolayers of artificial bola (transmembrane) lipids. The lipids used in this study are symmetric bola lipids with two phosphocholine head groups, which resemble natural archaea lipids. To prevent bending of the hydrocarbon chains, stiff triple bonds are inserted in the middle of the hydrocarbon cores. The formation of homogeneous "monolayers" of transmembrane lipids over macroscopic areas can be monitored with fluorescence microscopy. Structures of such supported monolayers in bulk water were characterized with specular X-ray reflectivity using high energy X-ray radiation, which guarantees a high transmission through bulk water. Here, the vertical structure of single monolayers could be resolved from reconstructed electron density profiles. To verify the structural model suggested by the specular reflectivity, we also performed small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering of transmembrane lipid suspensions. The wide-angle patterns reflect a distorted chain-chain correlation, while the small-angle scattering allowed us to model an electron density profile which is consistent with the profile calculated from specular reflectivity.  相似文献

We report the vectorial incorporation of a highly asymmetric F0F1 ATP synthase complex from Micrococcus luteus into polymer-supported membranes. Dynamic light scattering and cryo electron microscopy confirm that the use of weak surfactants (bile acid) allows for the non-disruptive protein incorporation into lipid vesicles. Spreading of vesicles with ATP synthase onto a cellulose support results in a homogeneous distribution of proteins, in contrast to a patchy image observed on bare glass slides. The orientation of ATP synthase can be identified using an antibody to the ATP binding site as well as from topographic profiles of the surface. The method to "align" transmembrane proteins in supported membranes would open a possibility to quantify protein functions in biomimetic model systems.  相似文献

The novel monomer, π-(2, 4-hexadiene- l-yl acrylate) tricarbonyliron (HATI), has been prepared by two routes. It was homopolymerized and copolymerized with acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, styrene, and methyl acrylate in benzene solutions. In all cases azobisisobutyronitrile was the initiator. The relative reactivity ratios, where HATI is defined as M1, were determined: r1 = 0.34, r2 = 0.74, M2 = acrylonitrile; r1 = 2.0, r2 = 0.05, M2 = 0.74, M2 = acrylonitrile; r1 = 2.0, r2 = 0.05, M2 = vinyl acetate; r1 = 0.26, r2 = 1.81, M2 = styrene; and r1 = 0.30, r2 = 0.74, M2 = methyl acrylate. The homo-and copolymers had high values of Tg. When polymerizations are carried out at high concentrations, a very high molecular weight tail is observed in HATI hompolymerizations and in HATI-methyl acrylate copolymerizations. The polymers were characterized by IR, gel permeation chromatography, viscosity, and differential scanning calorimetry studies. Finally, thermal decompositions carried out in air resulted in decomposition of the Fe(CO)3 group, producing Fe2O3 as a fine powder. Thermal decomposition under nitrogen (in solution and on solids ground into KBr pellets) resulted in slow destruction of the Fe(CO)3 groups but the resulting polymer mass was insoluble, and the question of what form the iron exists in (Fe metal, oxides, carbides, etc.) has not been answered.  相似文献
