Interaction of a beta-carboline based biologically active molecule, 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydro-12H indolo-[2,3-a] quinolizine (AODIQ), with alpha-, beta-, and gamma-cyclodextrins (CDs) in aqueous solution has been studied using steady state and time-resolved fluorescence and steady-state fluorescence anisotropy techniques. Polarity dependent intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) process is responsible for the remarkable sensitivity of this biological fluorophore to the CD environments. Upon encapsulation, the CT fluorescence exhibits hypsochromic shift along with enhancements in the fluorescence yield, fluorescence anisotropy (r), and fluorescence lifetime. The reduction in the nonradiative deactivation rate of the fluorophore within the CD nanocavities leads to an increase in both fluorescence yield and lifetime. Among the three CDs, gamma-CD shows the most spectacular confinement effect. The results establish the formation of 1:1 AODIQ:CD inclusion complexes in alpha- and beta-CDs. In aqueous gamma-CD solutions, however, depending on the concentration of the gamma-CD, formation of both 1:1 and 1:2 complexes have been revealed. Hydrodynamic radii of the 1:1 and 1:2 probe-gamma-CD supramolecular complexes have also been determined.  相似文献

A photophysical study of norharmane (NHM), an efficient cancer cell photosensitizer, has been undertaken in well-characterized biomimetic micellar nanocavities formed by anionic surfactants of varying chain length, namely, sodium decyl sulfate (S10S), sodium dodecyl sulfate (S12S), and sodium tetradecyl sulfate (S14S), using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. The effect of the hydrophobic chain length on the structural dynamism of the fluorophore has been reported. Experimental results demonstrate that the equilibrium of this dynamism is sensitive to the environment. Variation in the surfactant chain length plays an important role in promoting a specific prototropic form of the probe molecule. A striking feature of the present study is that an increase in the surfactant chain length (hydrophobicity) favors the cationic species of NHM. This has been rationalized on the basis of changes in the local pH and the aggregation number of the micelles. A fluorescence quenching study of the micelle-bound probe using ionic quencher Cu2+ corroborates this.  相似文献

Positron lifetime spectroscopy has been applied to study the temperature dependence of free-volume properties in a solvent-free polymer–salt complex polyethylene oxide (PEO) doped with ammonium iodide (NH4I, with NH ≈ 0.076) in the temperature range of 298–353 K. The observed lifetime spectra were resolved into three components and the longest lifetime, τ3, was associated with the pick-off annihilation of ortho-positronium (o-Ps) trapped by the free volume. The lifetime component, τ3, and its intensity, I3, both showed a significant variation with temperature, which followed a different course in the heating and cooling cycle. Changes in the temperature coefficient of τ3 and I3 were observed at T ≈ 328 K, the melting point of the sample. Reaction of MnII(CH3COO)2 with dibasic tetradentate ligands, N,N′-ethylenebis(pyridoxylideneiminato) (H2pydx-en, I), N,N′-propylenebis(pyridoxylideneiminato) (H2pydx-1,3-pn, II) and 1-methyl-N,N′-ethylenebis(pyridoxylideneiminato) (H2pydx-1,2-pn, III) followed by aerial oxidation in the presence of LiCl gives complexes [MnIII(pydx-en)Cl(H2O)] (1) [MnIII(pydx-1,3-pn)Cl(CH3OH)] (2) and [MnIII(pydx-1,2-pn)Cl(H2O)] (3), respectively. Crystal and molecular structures of [Mn(pydx-en)Cl(H2O)] (1) and [Mn(pydx-1,3-pn)Cl(CH3OH)] (2) confirm their octahedral geometry and the coordination of ligands through ONNO(2-) form. Reaction of manganese(II)-exchanged zeolite-Y with these ligands in refluxing methanol followed by aerial oxidation in the presence of NaCl leads to the formation of the corresponding zeolite-Y encapsulated complexes, abbreviated herein as [MnIII(pydx-en)]-Y (4), [MnIII(pydx-1,3-pn)]-Y (5) and [MnIII(pydx-1,2-pn)]-Y (6). These encapsulated complexes are used as catalysts for the oxidation, by H2O2, of methyl phenyl sulfide, styrene and benzoin efficiently. Oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide under the optimized reaction conditions gave ca. 86% conversion with two major products methyl phenyl sulfoxide and methyl phenyl sulfone in the ca. 70% and 30% selectivity, respectively. Oxidation of styrene catalyzed by these complexes gave at least five products namely styrene oxide, benzaldehyde, benzoic acid, 1-phenylethane-1,2-diol and phenylacetaldehyde with a maximum of 76.9% conversion of styrene by 4, 76.3% by 5 and 76.0% by 6 under optimized conditions. The selectivity of the obtained products followed the order: benzaldehyde > benzoic acid > styrene oxide > phenylacetaldehyde > 1-phenylethane-1,2-diol. Similarly, ca. 93% conversion of benzoin was obtained by these catalysts, where the selectivity of the products followed the order benzil > benzoic acid > benzaldehyde-dimethylacetal. Tests for the recyclability and heterogeneity of the reactions have also been carried. Neat complexes are equally active. However, the recycle ability of encapsulated complexes makes them better over neat ones.  相似文献

In this work, we demonstrate a simple, one pot and seed free synthetic route for the formation of gold nanorods (Au NRs) via thermal decomposition of gold(I) dithiophosphate {[Au2{S2P(OiPr)2}2]n,} 1 complex as a molecular precursor in presence of 4′‐amino‐biphenyl‐4‐carboxylic molecule. Here [Au2{S2P(OiPr)2}2]n, complex functioned as gold (Au) source and 4′‐amino‐biphenyl‐4‐carboxylic molecule stabilized gold (Au) nanorods (NRs) through the unidirectional coating of Au surface during its growth in the reaction medium.  相似文献

The seasons, and daily physical rhythms can have a profound effect on the physiology of the living organism, which includes immune status. The immune system can be influenced by a variety of signals and one of them is photic stimulus. Light may regulate the immunity through the neuroendocrine system leading to the most recent branch of research the “Photoimmunomodulation”. Mammals perceive visible light (400–700 nm) through some specialized photoreceptors located in retina like retinal ganglion cells (RGC). This photic signal is then delivered to the visual cortex from there to the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamic region. Melatonin – one of the universally accepted chronobiotic molecule secreted by the pineal gland is now emerging as one of the most effective immunostimulatory compound in rodents and as oncostatic molecule at least in human. Its synthesis decreases with light activation along with norepinephrine and acetylcholine. The changes in level of melatonin may lead to alterations (stimulatory/inhibitory) in immune system. The evidences for the presence of melatonin receptor subtypes on lymphoid tissues heralded the research area about mechanism of action for melatonin. Further, melatonin receptor subtypes-MT1 and MT2 was noted on pars tuberalis, SCN and on lymphatic tissues suggesting a direct action of melatonin in modulation of immunity by photoperiod as well. The nuclear receptors (ROR, RZR etc.) of melatonin are known for its free radical scavenging actions and might be indirectly controlling the immune function.  相似文献

In this work, we have reported the electrical and photovoltaic properties of methyl red dye sensitised photoelectrochemical cell. Here, we have explored the possibility of using methyl red dye in photovoltaic devices. The dye was dispersed in polyvinyl alcohol used as an inert polymer binder and polyethylene oxide complexed with lithium perchlorate ion salt as a solid electrolyte. Ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate are used as plasticisers. A thin film of this blend is sandwiched between two electrodes, one of which is indium tin oxide coated glass plate and another is aluminium. The active area of the cell is 0.04 cm2. By analysing dark IV characteristics, trap energy is estimated in the order of 0.053 eV. The photovoltaic parameters such as open circuit voltage, short circuit current, fill factor and power conversion efficiency of the cell have been calculated to be 368 mV, 410 nA, 0.349 and 1.24%, respectively. The photovoltaic currents were measured with different intensity.  相似文献

An understanding of solid‐state crystal dynamics or flexibility in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) showing multiple structural changes is highly demanding for the design of materials with potential applications in sensing and recognition. However, entangled MOFs showing such flexible behavior pose a great challenge in terms of extracting information on their dynamics because of their poor single‐crystallinity. In this article, detailed experimental studies on a twofold entangled MOF ( f‐MOF‐1) are reported, which unveil its structural response toward external stimuli such as temperature, pressure, and guest molecules. The crystallographic study shows multiple structural changes in f‐MOF‐1 , by which the 3 D net deforms and slides upon guest removal. Two distinct desolvated phases, that is, f‐MOF‐1 a and f‐MOF‐1 b , could be isolated; the former is a metastable one and transformable to the latter phase upon heating. The two phases show different gated CO2 adsorption profiles. DFT‐based calculations provide an insight into the selective and gated adsorption behavior with CO2 of f‐MOF‐1 b . The gate‐opening threshold pressure of CO2 adsorption can be tuned strategically by changing the chemical functionality of the linker from ethanylene (?CH2?CH2?) in f‐MOF‐1 to an azo (?N=N?) functionality in an analogous MOF, f‐MOF‐2 . The modulation of functionality has an indirect influence on the gate‐opening pressure owing to the difference in inter‐net interaction. The framework of f‐MOF‐1 is highly responsive toward CO2 gas molecules, and these results are supported by DFT calculations.  相似文献
