Approximation of fixed points of strictly pseudocontractive mappings on arbitrary closed, convex sets in a Banach space

We show that any fixed point of a Lipschitzian, strictly pseudocontractive mapping on a closed, convex subset of a Banach space is necessarily unique, and may be norm approximated by an iterative procedure. Our argument provides a convergence rate estimate and removes the boundedness assumption on , generalizing theorems of Liu.

     

Electron Capture Probabilities in105Ag

TheK-electron capture probabilities for the 1/2^? → 3/2^? and 1/2^? → 1/2⁺ transitions in the decay of¹⁰⁵Ag were measured for the first time using the sum coincidence method. The experimental P_K values were estimated to be 0.824 ± 0.042 and 0.851 ±0.046 for the allowed and first-forbidden beta transitions, respectively in agreement with the theory. The P_L experimental values to these two levels were also computed using the experimental P_L/P_K values reported by earlier authors. These results are also found to be consistent with the theoretical P_L values.     

Rapid incorporation of radiobromine via the reaction of labeled sodium bromide with organoboranes

Organoboranes react with⁸²Br labeled sodium bromide in the presence of chloramine-T to yield the corresponding⁸²Br labeled alkyl and aryl bromides. The reaction is rapid, proceeds under mild conditions, and tolerates a variety of functional groups.     

ESR studies of Cu2+ doped in triglycine calcium bromide single crystals

Electron spin resonance studies were carried out on Cu²⁺ doped triglycine calcium bromide. The spectra recorded at room temperature revealed well-resolved hyperfine spectra of⁶³Cu superposed with super-hyperfine lines due to¹⁴N nuclei. The spin Hamiltonian parameters are evaluated. It was concluded that the Cu²⁺ enters the lattice interstitially.     

Mixing of meson isosinglets

The mixing angles for the vector and pseudoscalar meson isosinglets are obtained in a non-relativistic quark model. Schwinger-type mass relations are also obtained for SU(4) and SU(5). Quark contents of different meson isosinglets are computed which agree well with similar estimation of Maki and co-workers and Boal.
