A tournament is an oriented complete graph. Vertices x and y dominate a tournament T if for all vertices z≠x,y, either (x,z) or (y,z) are arcs in T (possibly both). The domination graph of a tournament T is the graph on the vertex set of T containing edge {x,y} if and only if x and y dominate T. In this paper we determine which graphs containing no isolated vertices are domination graphs of tournaments.

Chemical methods of transfection that have proven successful with cell lines often do not work with primary cultures of neurons. Recent data, however, suggest that linear polymers of the cation polyethyleneimine (PEI) can facilitate the uptake of nucleic acids by neurons. Consequently, we examined the ability of a commercial PEI preparation to allow the introduction of foreign genes into postmitotic mammalian neurons. Sympathetic neurons were obtained from perinatal rat pups and maintained for 5 days in vitro in the absence of nonneuronal cells. Cultures were then transfected with varying amounts of a plasmid encoding either E. coli β-galactosidase or enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP) using PEI. 相似文献
In the present paper, the microwave (MW)‐assisted synthesis of the alkaline N‐[3‐(dimethylamino)propyl]methacrylamide ( 4 ) and ‐acrylamide ( 5 ) monomers within minutes is described. The reaction was carried out by mixing and subsequent irradiation of 3‐dimethylamino‐1‐propylamine ( 3 ) and (meth)acrylic acid ( 1 / 2 ) without addition of solvent. After polymerization, the obtained homopolymers ( 6 / 7 ) exhibit lower critical solution temperature (LCST) behavior in water at 35 °C only at pH = 14. The LCST‐behavior can be influenced by N‐oxidation of the tertiary amino group with hydrogen peroxide or by formation of a polymer‐inclusion complex ( 6a ) of 6 and β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) by addition of randomly‐methylated β‐CD.
Dysphania is an abundant genus of plants, many of which are endemic to the Australian continent, occurring primarily in arid and temperate zones. Despite their prevalence, very few investigations into the phytochemistry of native Dysphania have been undertaken. Described herein, is the isolation and elucidation of two enantiomeric diastereomers of humulene diepoxide C from D. kalpari and D. rhadinostachya, of which unassigned diastereomers of humulene diepoxide C have been previously reported as components in beer brewed from aged hops. In addition, two (+)-humulene diepoxiols (humulene diepoxiol C-I and C-II) were isolated from D. rhadinostachya. Analysis of Chinook hops oil confirmed the presence of both humulene diepoxide C-I and C-II as trace components, and in turn enabled GC-MS peak assignment to the relative stereochemistry. Anticancer assays did not reveal any significant activity for the (+)-humulene diepoxides. Antifungal assays showed good activity against a drug-resistant strain of C. auris, with MIC50 values of 8.53 and 4.91 μm obtained for (+)-humulene diepoxide C-I and C-II, respectively. 相似文献
In gas turbines, high combustion efficiency as well as operational safety are required. Thus, labyrinth seal systems with honeycomb liners are commonly used. In the case of rubbing events in the seal system, the components can be damaged due to cyclic thermal and mechanical loads. Temperature differences occurring at labyrinth seal fins during rubbing events can be determined by considering a single heat source acting periodically on the surface of a rotating cylinder. Existing literature analysing the temperature distribution on rotating cylindrical bodies due to a stationary heat source is reviewed. The temperature distribution on the circumference of a simplified labyrinth seal fin is calculated using an available and easy to implement analytical approach. A finite element model of the simplified labyrinth seal fin is created and the numerical results are compared to the analytical results. The temperature distributions calculated by the analytical and the numerical approaches coincide for low sliding velocities, while there are discrepancies of the calculated maximum temperatures for higher sliding velocities. The use of the analytical approach allows the conservative estimation of the maximum temperatures arising in labyrinth seal fins during rubbing events. At the same time, high calculation costs can be avoided. 相似文献
