A simple one-pot synthesis has been developed for the synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles using an efficient and recyclable MoO3/SiO2 solid acid catalyst by condensation of benzil or benzoin, benzaldehyde, and ammonium acetate in acetonitrile as a solvent. Using this solid catalyst, the reactions could be carried out under mild reaction conditions with very good yield of imidazoles, up to 95%. This catalyst could be recycled very easily, which makes this methodology environmentally benign.  相似文献

Summary The kinetics of the RuIII-catalyzed oxidation of the hydroxy acids; lactic, tartaric, malic and citric acids byN-bromosuccinimide in HClO4 and in the presence of Hg(OAc)2 have been studied. The reactions exhibit a first order rate dependence with respect to the oxidant and zeroth order rate dependence with respect to substrate. The rate is retarded by [H+], accelerated at law RuIII concentrations but independent of [RuIII] at higher RuIII concentrations. Four novel conjugated polymers containing the eumelanin‐inspired indole core have been successfully synthesized using common cross coupling reactions. These polymers differed by the arylene and the carbon–carbon bond linkage. Optoelectronic experiments of these polymers suggest that the ethynylene linkage contributed to the red‐shifted absorption spectra and blue‐shifted emission spectra when compared to the vinylene linkage polymers. Furthermore, the optical bandgaps of the poly(indoylenearyleneethynylene)s (PIAEs) were smaller compared to the poly(indoylenearylenevinylene)s (PIAVs). Surprisingly, the HOMOs of these polymers were less affected by the nature of the carbon–carbon linkage. However, the LUMOs of the PIAEs were lower in comparison to the PIAVs. These eumelanin‐inspired PIAEs and PIAVs are good fluorophores with fluorescence quantum yields ranging from 0.12 to 0.67 and have good thermal stability for applications such as in organic light‐emitting diodes. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary The kinetics of oxidation of aldoses, namely xylose, arabinose, galactose and glucose, by CeIV have been studied in HClO4 + H2SO4 medium and in the presence of PdII. The reactions exhibit a first order rate dependence with respect to oxidant. The rate is inversely dependent on the [HSO inf4 sup– ][H+] ratio. The order of reaction with respect to aldose decreases at higher [aldose]. Due to the formation of a complex between CeIV and PdII, a retarding effect of [PdII] on the rate of disappearance of [CeIV] has been observed. A new three step synthetic route to construct azocine ring system using anion chemistry and intramolecular Friedel-Craft reaction of an ester is presented. (?)-Elemoxide, a fragrant compound was synthesised using commercially available elemol in four steps with overall yield of 32%. The cyclic ether skeleton was constructed via intramolecular hydroalkoxylation using I2 and PhSiH3 catalytic system. Also, intramolecular oxymercuration-demercuration was employed as an alternate approach for cyclization. The various regioselective strategies involving epoxidation of alkene, reduction of epoxide and intramolecular cyclization were the highlights of the work. The key intermediate diol serves as a versatile intermediate for the synthesis of elemoxide and elemene.  相似文献

Visible‐light photocatalysis has evolved over the last decade into a widely used method in organic synthesis. Photocatalytic variants have been reported for many important transformations, such as cross‐coupling reactions, α‐amino functionalizations, cycloadditions, ATRA reactions, or fluorinations. To help chemists select photocatalytic methods for their synthesis, we compare in this Review classical and photocatalytic procedures for selected classes of reactions and highlight their advantages and limitations. In many cases, the photocatalytic reactions proceed under milder reaction conditions, typically at room temperature, and stoichiometric reagents are replaced by simple oxidants or reductants, such as air, oxygen, or amines. Does visible‐light photocatalysis make a difference in organic synthesis? The prospect of shuttling electrons back and forth to substrates and intermediates or to selectively transfer energy through a visible‐light‐absorbing photocatalyst holds the promise to improve current procedures in radical chemistry and to open up new avenues by accessing reactive species hitherto unknown, especially by merging photocatalysis with organo‐ or metal catalysis.  相似文献
