Speeds of sound of the ternary mixtures cyclohexane+1,3-dioxolane+2-butanol and n-hexane+1,3-dioxolane+2-butanol have been measured at the temperatures of 298.15 and 313.15 K. Isentropic compressibilities and excess isentropic compressibilities have been calculated from experimental data. We have also compared the experimental isentropic compressibilities with calculated values from the free length theory and the collision factor theory. Experimental results show positive values of excess isentropic compressibilities in almost the whole composition range for the ternary mixture containing cyclohexane, meanwhile they are negative for the mixture containing n-hexane. Such different behaviour of these systems is related to the large free volume shown by n-hexane. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A highly sensitive procedure to detect multiple pesticides at trace levels in foods is presented. Initially a comparative study between capillary electrophoresis (CE)-UV and CE-mass spectrometry (MS) is carried out analyzing five pesticides not studied up to now (pyrimethanil, pyrifenox, cyprodinil, cyromazine, and pirimicarb). The comparison between CE-UV and CE-MS is established in terms of separation efficiency, speed of analysis, reproducibility, and sensitivity. A good separation of these compounds is achieved by both techniques using a volatile aqueous buffer containing 0.3 M ammonium acetate/acetic acid at pH 4. Time analysis reproducibility is studied for the same day (n = 5) and three different days (n = 15), showing no significant differences between CE-UV and CE-MS. The study on peak areas reproducibility shows a slightly worse reproducibility for CE-MS compared with CE-UV. The best limit of detection (LOD) that can be achieved for these pesticides using CE-UV was 0.6 microg/mL. CE-MS provides LODs one order of magnitude better than CE-UV. Chemometrics are used to optimize the multiple parameters that play a role in solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and CE-MS analysis (e.g., extraction and desorption times, nebulizer pressure, dry gas flow, dry gas temperature, percentage of organic solvent and acid in the sheath liquid, etc.). The combined use of chemometrics and SPME-CE-MS clearly improves the LODs that can be achieved allowing the detection of pesticides at concentrations down to 15 ng/mL. The usefulness of this approach is demonstrated detecting multiple pesticides in different food samples as grapes and orange juice in a single run. The concentrations detected are below the maximum residue limits (MRLs) permitted for these pesticides in foods corroborating the value of our approach. This work demonstrates, to our knowledge for the first time, the good possibilities of the combined use of SPME-CE-MS and chemometrics.  相似文献

Calculations of exchange coupling constants (J) based on density functional theory for eight complete, nonmodeled ferric wheels have been performed, and a comparison with the values obtained from magnetic susceptibility data is presented. The calculated J values obtained with a generalized-gradient approximation (GGA) functional are in good agreement with the experiment probably because the inclusion of pseudopotentials partially compensates the overestimation of the spin delocalization. The magnetostructural correlation obtained shows a strong dependence of the exchange coupling on both the Fe-O-Fe bond angle and the Fe-O bond distance. This correlation holds for both the ferric wheels and the alkoxo-bridged Fe(III) dinuclear complexes reported in the literature.  相似文献

The energy of formation and the Lewis acid strength of sulfur vacancies or coordinative unsaturated sites on the MoS2 edges were studied using density functional theory for periodic systems and an electrostatic potential-based methodology. The results suggest that the more energetically favorable sites are located on the sulfur edges; however, their Lewis acid strength is considerably smaller than the site acidity at the molybdenum edges. The acid strength for the reported most hydrodesulfurization active site of RuS2 was also determined. In general, the Lewis acid for the site on RuS2 is 100% smaller than the sites on the Mo edges and around 20% larger than the most favorable site on the S edges of MoS2. Binding of the pyridine molecule in the eta1 adsorption configuration on the considered sites has corroborated the trend of Lewis acidity suggested by the electrostatic potential methodology.  相似文献

Summary Different approaches to the interpretation of solvent effects on reactions between ionic reactants are analysed, taking as a basis the kinetic data corresponding to the sulphite-hexacyanoferrate(III) and peroxodisulphate-hexacyanoferrate(III) oxidations. It is concluded that the approach based on the use of solvent parameters is the more promising, although knowledge of the transfer chemical potentials of the reactants may also be useful in the interpretation of kinetic behaviour.  相似文献

A procedure for the determination of several coplanar and non coplanar PCBs in ash samples is described. Analytes were extracted from the samples using dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) under the action of a microwave field, and then they were concentrated on a PDMS-DVB solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibre using the headspace mode, after water dilution of the DMSO extract. Determinations were carried out using GC-ECD and GC-MS detection. Influences of microwave extraction (solvent volume, temperature and time) and SPME conditions (stirring, kind of SPME fibre, salt and water addition, sampling time and temperature) on the performance of the whole analytical procedure were systematically investigated. Working under optimal conditions quantification limits from 0.2 to 1.5 ng g−1 were obtained for all the compounds, except for PCB 209, which could not be consistently extracted from the sample using the proposed conditions.  相似文献

Specific conductivity of aqueous solutions of dodecyldimethylethylammonium bromide has been determined in the temperature range of 15-40°C. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) and ionization degree of the micelles, b, were determined from the data. Thermodynamic functions, such as standard Gibbs free energy, ΔG m°, enthalpy, ΔG m°, and entropy, ΔG m°, of micellization, were estimated by assuming that the system conforms to the mass action model. The change in heat capacity upon micellization, ΔG m°, was estimated from the temperature dependence of ΔG m°. An enthalpy-entropy compensation phenomenom for the studied system has been found. Polymorphic dinucleotide repeat loci ('microsatellite markers') are found in varying abundance throughout the genomes of most organisms. They have been extensively used for genetic studies, but conventional techniques used for their genotyping require sophisticated equipment. Microplate array diagonal gel electrophoresis (MADGE) has previously been extended to economical high-throughput genotyping of trinucleotide and tetranucleotide microsatellite amplicons. However, the capability of this technique to resolve the alleles of dinucleotide repeat loci has not been explored previously. Here we show that a modified microsatellite-MADGE approach can provide sufficient resolution for dinucleotide repeat typing. This enables economical and convenient set up for analysis of single markers in many samples in parallel, suitable, for example, for population association studies.  相似文献

The three pathways postulated for 1,3-migration of the peroxyl group in the allylperoxyl radical (1a), a key reaction involved in the spontaneous autoxidation of unsaturated lipids of biological importance, have been investigated by means of quantum mechanical electronic structure calculations. According to the barrier heights calculated from RCCSD(T)/6-311+G(3df,2p) energies with optimized molecular geometries and harmonic vibrational frequencies determined at the UMP2/6-311+G(3df,2p) level, the allylperoxyl rearrangement proceeds by fragmentation of 1a through a transition structure (TS1) with a calculated DeltaH++(298 K) of 21.7 kcal/mol to give an allyl radical-triplet dioxygen loosely bound complex (CX). In a subsequent step, the triplet dioxygen moiety of CX recombines at either end of the allyl radical moiety to convert the complex to the rearranged peroxyl radical (1a') or to revert to the starting peroxyl radical 1a. CX shows an electron charge transfer of 0.026 e in the direction allyl --> O(2). The dominant attractive interactions holding in association the allyl radical-triplet dioxygen pair in CX are due chiefly to dispersion forces. The DeltaH(298 K) for dissociation of CX in its isolated partners, allyl radical and triplet dioxygen, is predicted to be at least 1 kcal/mol. The formation of CX prevents the diffusion of its partners and maintains the stereocontrol along the fragmentation-recombination processes. The concerted 1,3-migration in allylperoxyl radical is predicted to take place through a five-membered ring peroxide transition structure (TS2) showing two long C-O bonds. The DeltaH++(298 K) calculated for this pathway is less favorable than the fragmentation-recombination pathway by 1.9 kcal/mol. The cyclization of 1a to give a dioxolanyl radical intermediate (2a) is found to proceed through a five-membered ring transition structure (TS3) with a calculated DeltaH++(298 K) of 33.9 kcal/mol. Thus, the sequence of ring closure 1a --> 2a and ring opening 2a --> 1a' is unlikely to play any significant role in allylperoxyl rearrangement 1a --> 1a'. In the three pathways investigated, the energy of the transition structure is predicted to be somewhat lower in either heptane or aqueous solution than in the gas phase. Although the energy lowering calculated for TS1 is smaller than the calculated for TS2 and TS3, it is very unlikely that the solvent effects may reverse the predicted preference of the fragmentation-recombination pathway over the concerted and stepwise ring closure-ring opening mechanisms.  相似文献
