The spin population distribution in the ferromagnetically coupled hetero-bimetallic chain compound [MnNi(NO(2))(4)(en)(2)] (en = 1,2-ethanediamine) has been investigated by means of polarized neutron diffraction experiments, and the results compared with those from theoretical estimates obtained via calculations based on density functional theory on dinuclear molecular models of the chain. The spin distributions obtained from experiment and from theory are consistent and reflect a larger spin delocalization from the Ni atom due to the more covalent character of the Ni-N bonds compared to the Mn-O ones. Also a nearly isotropic spin distribution is observed for the more ionic d(5) Mn(2+) ion and a clearly anisotropic distribution for the d(8) Ni(2+) ion. The use of dinuclear molecular models for the calculation of the exchange coupling constant between Ni and Mn provide upper and lower limits (+17.6 and -4.2 cm(-)(1)) for the experimentally determined value (+1.3 cm(-)(1)), depending on how the missing part of the chain is simulated, but yield essentially the same spin distribution. The Mn(II)-Ni(II) weak ferromagnetic coupling in the chain is interpreted in a spin delocalization mechanism as resulting from the weakness of the overlap between the magnetic orbitals centered on nickel and those centered on manganese which are only weakly delocalized on the ligands. 相似文献

The ground state (S(0)) and lowest-energy triplet state (T(1)) potential energy surfaces (PESs) concerning the thermal and photochemical rearrangement of bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-3-en-2-one (8) to the ketonic tautomer of phenol (11) have been extensively explored using ab initio CASSCF and CASPT2 calculations with several basis sets. State T(1) is predicted to be a triplet pipi lying 66.5 kcal/mol above the energy of the S(0) state. On the S(0) PES, the rearrangement of 8 to 11 is predicted to occur via a two-step mechanism where the internal cyclopropane C-C bond is broken first through a high energy transition structure (TS1-S(0)()), leading to a singlet intermediate (10-S(0)()) lying 25.0 kcal/mol above the ground state of 8. Subsequently, this intermediate undergoes a 1,2-hydrogen shift to yield 11 by surmounting an energy barrier of only 2.7 kcal/mol at 0 K. The rate-determining step of the global rearrangement is the opening of the three-membered ring in 8, which involves an energy barrier of 41.2 kcal/mol at 0 K. This high energy barrier is consistent with the fact that the thermal rearrangement of umbellulone to thymol is carried out by heating at 280 degrees C. Regarding the photochemical rearangement, our results suggest that the most efficient route from the T(1) state of 8 to ground state 11 is the essentially barrierless cleavage of the internal cyclopropane C-C bond followed by radiationless decay to the S(0) state PES via intersystem crossing (ISC) at a crossing point (S(0)()/T(1)()-1) located at almost the same geometry as TS1-S(0)(), leading to the formation of 10-S(0)() and the subsequent low-barrier 1,2-hydrogen shift. The computed small spin-orbit coupling between the T(1) and S(0) PESs at S(0)()/T(1)()-1 (1.2 cm(-)(1)) suggests that the ISC between these PESs is the rate-determining step of the photochemical rearrangement 8 --> 11. Finally, computational evidence indicates that singlet intermediate 10-S(0)() should not be drawn as a zwitterion, but rather as a diradical having a polarized C=O bond. 相似文献

Polynitrogen receptors such as bis-histidine peptides possess strong ability to bind metals, which play much important roles in medicinal, bioinorganic, bioorganic, biomimetic and supramolecular chemistry. In order to investigate the interaction of these hosts with a variety of neutral, cationic and anionic guests, several techniques, for example, NMR,potentiometric tirations and monocrystal X-ray diffraction have been employed. Among them NMR is a powerful technique for unraveling the structure of polynitrogen receptors as long as they are in solution where the rapid tumbling of molecules averages out the anisotropies such as chemical shift and dipole-dipole interactions. To clarify the nature of the Mo?Carene interaction in terphenyl complexes with quadruple Mo?Mo bonds, ether adducts of composition [Mo2(Ar′)(I)(O2CR)2(OEt2)] have been prepared and characterized (Ar′=ArXyl2, R=Me; Ar′=ArMes2, R=Me; Ar′=ArXyl2, R=CF3) (Mes=mesityl; Xyl=2,6‐Me2C6H3, from now on xylyl) and their reactivity toward different neutral Lewis bases investigated. PMe3, P(OMe)3 and PiPr3 were chosen as P‐donors and the reactivity studies complemented with the use of the C‐donors CNXyl and CN2C2Me4 (1,3,4,5‐tetramethylimidazol‐2‐ylidene). New compounds of general formula [Mo2(Ar′)(I)(O2CR)2( L )] were obtained, except for the imidazol‐2‐ylidene ligand that yielded a salt‐like compound of composition [Mo2(ArXyl2)(O2CMe)2(CN2C2Me4)2]I. The Mo?Carene interaction in these complexes has been analyzed with the aid of X‐ray data and computational studies. This interaction compensates the coordinative and electronic unsaturation of one of the Mo atoms in the above complexes, but it seems to be weak in terms of sharing of electron density between the Mo and Carene atoms and appears to have no appreciable effect in the length of the Mo?Mo, Mo?X, and Mo? for carbon dioxide/methane mixtures has been obtained. A model based on the LDF approximation for the mass transfer has been
used to describe the breakthrough curves obtained experimentally. A PSA cycle has been proposed for obtaining methane with
purity higher than 98% from carbon dioxide/methane mixtures containing 38% and 50% methane, and its performance has been simulated
using the proposed model. The simulation results show that silicalite can be a suitable adsorbent for employment in a PSA

Summary The general objective is to provide an alternative methodology based on capillary electrophoresis (CE) to characterize flavonoids from honey and hence determine its botanical origin. The specific objective is to compare the separation of flavonoids by CE with those achieved by HPLC to assess CE as an alternative technique for the determination of honey flavonoids. Fourteen different flavonoids isolated from honey were analysed by MECC and compared to the HPLC separations. It was difficult to find specific experimental conditions to separate all the flavonoids from honey in a single MEKC run. Three chromatographic conditions are optimized and, depending on the flavonoid markers sought in honey, the appropriate detection method should be chosen. Compared to the HPLC results, it is clear that CE could be an alternative technique in honey flavonoids analysis and particularly in the study of its geographical and floral origin. 相似文献

Methods to determine U, Th, and other constituent elements in mineral matrices through Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA), have been widely utilized due to their capability to extract a large quantity of information from small samples. In the present work, an experimental methodology based on INAA associated to the cluster statistics technique was used to determine the uranium concentration and its correlation with other elements present in the mineral phosphorites from the northeast region of Brazil. Data for 22 elements including rare-earth elements are presented. A good correlation between uranium and rare-earth elements is observed. For the transition metals, correlation with uranium was not noted. 相似文献
