A series of heterobimetallic η6-[(ferrocenyl)indene]-Cr(CO)3 complexes differing for the position of the ferrocenyl group, 1-(ferrocenyl)indene and 2-(ferrocenyl)indene, and the degree of indene methylation (tetramethyl- and hexamethyl-) have been prepared and studied with the aim to stabilise the mono- and dications generated by chemical and electrochemical oxidation, and at same time to tune the metal-metal electronic coupling in the mixed-valence cations. The magnitude of electronic delocalisation and spin density in the cations have been monitored by means of optical techniques (UV-Vis, near-IR, mid-IR) and EPR spectroscopy. The results have been rationalised in the framework of Marcus-Hush theory and at quantum chemistry level by DFT and TD-DFT methods, establishing that a metal-to-metal electronic coupling occurs the magnitude of which depends on the degree of indene methylation.  相似文献

We present evidence that the concurrent existence of two populations of particles with different effective diameters is not a prerequisite for the occurrence of anomalous phase behaviors in systems of particles interacting through spherically symmetric unbounded potentials. Our results show that an extremely weak softening of the interparticle repulsion, which yields a single nearest-neighbor separation, is able to originate a wide spectrum of unconventional features including reentrant melting, solid polymorphism, as well as thermodynamic, dynamic, and structural anomalies. These findings extend the possibility of anomalous phase behavior to a class of systems much broader than currently assumed.  相似文献

The electronic ground and excited states of an asymmetric porphycene, 9-amino-2,7,12,17-tetraphenylporphycene (9-ATPPo), are investigated by electronic structure calculations. Different tautomers are considered to address their contributions to the photophysics of 9-ATPPo. Tautomerization pathways on the ground and excited states are constructed between different isomers. It is found that two trans tautomers are mainly responsible for the absorption and emission spectra of 9-ATPPo. These calculations provide a molecular mechanism to explain recent experimental observations, which show a highly complex Q-band structure in the absorption spectrum and pronounced dual fluorescence in the emission spectrum. Furthermore, the current work shows that tautomerization takes place under the assistance of cavity deformations and that a nonradiative process occurs through weak interstate nonadiabatic couplings near the S(1) minimum rather than strong ones near conical intersections.  相似文献

The band structure of Ge1 ? x ? ySixSny ternary alloys, which are easier to grow than binary Ge1-xSnx alloys, and clearly offer a wider tunability of their direct band-gap and other properties, was calculated and investigated by using the empirical pseudo-potential plane wave method with modified Falicov pseudo-potential formfunction. The virtual crystal approximation (VCA) and 2 × 2 × 2 super-cell (mixed atoms) method were adopted to model the alloy. In order to calculate all of these properties, the empirical pseudo-potential code was developed. The lattice constant of the alloy varies between 0.543 to 0.649 nm. The regions in the parameter space that corresponds to a direct or indirect band gap semiconductor are identified. The Ge1 ? x ? ySixSny ternary alloy shows the direct band gap for appropriate composition of Si, Ge and Sn. The direct energy gap is in the range 0–1.4 eV (from the VCA calculation), and 0–0.8 eV (from the super-cell calculation), depending on the alloy composition. Therefore, this alloy is a promising material for optoelectronic applications in both visible and infrared range, such as interband lasers or, solar cells. Furthermore, strain-free heterostructures based on such alloys are designed and, using the effective-mass Hamiltonian model, the electronic structure of GeSiSn quantum wells with arbitrary composition is investigated, in order to understand their properties and the potential of their use in devices.  相似文献

A new xanthone named cratoxylumxanthone A (1), together with five known compounds: dulcisxanthone B (2), alpha-mangostin (3), beta-mangostin (4), 2-geranyl-1,3,7-trihydroxy-4-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)xanthone (5) and tectochrystin (6), was isolated from Cratoxylum cochinchinense stems. The structure of new compound was characterized by 1D and 2D NMR techniques. The isolated compounds showed free radical scavenging against DPPH and lipid peroxidation inhibition.  相似文献

The need for new photodynamic-therapy photosensitizers has stimulated the search of new families of compounds absorbing strongly in the 700-900 nm range, the region where tissue is most transparent to radiation capable to induce the photodynamic effect. Using computational chemistry techniques, 3,6,13,16-tetraazaporphycenes were previously identified as interesting target candidates. This work reports on the photophysical and electrochemical properties of selected members of this new family of macrocycles. Compared to porphycenes, the tetra-aza counterparts show stronger absorption in the near-infrared, lower-lying singlet and triplet excited states, and substantially larger internal conversion quantum yield (Phi(IC) = 0.93). Energy transfer to oxygen is observed, which results in the formation of the cytotoxic species singlet oxygen. The process is found to be reversible, consistent with a triplet-energy value close to that of singlet oxygen.  相似文献

The photophysical properties of 2‐phenyl‐naphtho[1,2‐d][1,3]oxazole, 2(4‐N,N‐dimethylaminophenyl)naphtho[1,2‐d][1,3]oxazole and 2(4‐N,N‐diphenylaminophenyl) naphtho[1,2‐d][1,3]oxazole were studied in a series of solvents. UV–Vis absorption spectra are insensitive to solvent polarity whereas the fluorescence spectra in the same solvent set show an important solvatochromic effect leading to large Stokes shifts. Linear solvation energy relationships were employed to correlate the position of fluorescence spectra maxima with microscopic empirical solvent parameters. This study indicates that important intramolecular charge transfer takes place during the excitation process. In addition, an analysis of the solvatochromic behavior of the UV–Vis absorption and fluorescence spectra in terms of the Lippert–Mataga equation shows a large increase in the excited‐state dipole moment, which is also compatible with the formation of an intramolecular charge‐transfer excited state. We propose both naphthoxazole derivatives as suitable fluorescent probes to determine physicochemical microproperties in several systems and as dyes in dye lasers; consequence of their high fluorescence quantum yields in most solvents, their large molar absorption coefficients, with fluorescence lifetimes in the range 1–3 ns as well as their high photostability.  相似文献

We propose the application of a new label‐free optical technique based on photonic nanostructures to real‐time monitor the amyloid‐beta 1‐42 (Aβ(1‐42)) fibrillization, including the early stages of the aggregation process, which are related to the onset of the Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). The aggregation of Aβ peptides into amyloid fibrils has commonly been associated with neuronal death, which culminates in the clinical features of the incurable degenerative AD. Recent studies revealed that cell toxicity is determined by the formation of soluble oligomeric forms of Aβ peptides in the early stages of aggregation. At this phase, classical amyloid detection techniques lack in sensitivity. Upon a chemical passivation of the sensing surface by means of polyethylene glycol, the proposed approach allows an accurate, real‐time monitoring of the refractive index variation of the solution, wherein Aβ(1‐42) peptides are aggregating. This measurement is directly related to the aggregation state of the peptide throughout oligomerization and subsequent fibrillization. Our findings open new perspectives in the understanding of the dynamics of amyloid formation, and validate this approach as a new and powerful method to screen aggregation at early stages.  相似文献
