Mössbauer spectroscopic studies of Fe-20 wt.% Cr ball milled alloy

Interesting differences were noticed in the alloying process during ball milling of Fe-10 wt.% Cr and Fe-20 wt.% Cr alloys by ⁵⁷Fe Mössbauer spectroscopic studies. In both cases, there is almost no diffusion of Fe in Cr or vice versa up to 20 h of milling time. As the powders are milled for another 20 h substantive changes occur in the Mössbauer spectra showing atomic level mixing. But the two compositions behave differently with respect to alloying. Fe-20 wt.% Cr sample does not differ much in the hyperfine field distribution as it is milled from 40 to 100 h. On the other hand, the hyperfine field distribution keeps on changing with milling time for Fe-10 wt.% Cr sample even up to 100 h of milling. The average crystallite size is found to be 7.5 nm for Fe-10 wt.% Cr and 6.5 nm in Fe-20 wt.% Cr after milling.     

Joint optimization of price and order quantity with shortages for a two-warehouse system

In developing the best strategy for real-world applications, the vendor must have some knowledge of the buyers’ behavior such as response to shortages and price increases. Using this knowledge, he can develop a policy that will ensure the largest net profit. Considering the fact, a two-warehousing inventory model has been developed where the demand is price-sensitive under the bulk release rule. Stockouts are allowed and are fully backlogged. Moreover, the transportation cost is taken to be dependent on the transported units. The model jointly optimizes the selling price and the order quantity by maximizing the system profit. Results have been validated with the help of a numerical example.      

Gel‐based separation of phosphoproteins in samples stored in urea/thiourea after precipitation by lanthanum chloride

The recent introduction of the La³⁺ precipitation method for the enrichment of phosphoproteins allows a gel‐based analysis of these posttranslationally modified proteins. However, if this method is applied to cell lysates stored in urea‐containing lysis buffer for an extended period of time, incomplete phosphoprotein recovery is observed. We ascribe this effect to the presence of urea in the lysis buffer. To overcome this problem various strategies were tested, where cell lysates stored at least for one year were utilized. By applying an optimized protocol approximately 250 proteins could be observed following separation by 2DE.     

Easy access to α-hydroxyimino-β-oxodithioesters and application towards the synthesis of diverse 1,4-thiazine-3-ones via reduction/annulation cascade

An operationally simple and facile synthesis of α-hydroxyimino-β-oxodithioesters has been achieved by nitrosation of α-enolicdithioesters. They were further treated with internal alkynes to afford diverse 1,4-thiazin-3-ones via domino reduction/annulation strategy under mild reaction conditions. Importantly, this is the first straightforward entry to highly functionalized 1,4-thiazin-3-one derivatives from simple starting materials.     

A sufficient condition for a monoid to be a group

I give a sufficient condition for Monoid (G,?) to become a group when one of its elements is deleated. The entire thing has been put in the form of a theorem with its proof and it has been discussed broadly.     

A-monotone nonlinear relaxed cocoercive variational inclusions

Based on the notion of A — monotonicity, a new class of nonlinear variational inclusion problems is presented. Since A — monotonicity generalizes H — monotonicity (and in turn, generalizes maximal monotonicity), results thus obtained, are general in nature.
