The complete sequence of reactions in the base‐promoted reduction of [{RuII(CO)3Cl2}2] to [RuI2(CO)4]2+ has been unraveled. Several μ‐OH, μ:κ2‐CO2H‐bridged diruthenium(II) complexes have been synthesized; they are the direct results of the nucleophilic activation of metal‐coordinated carbonyls by hydroxides. The isolated compounds are [Ru2(CO)4(μ:κ2C,O‐CO2H)2(μ‐OH)(NPF‐Am)2][PF6] ( 1 ; NPF‐Am=2‐amino‐5,7‐trifluoromethyl‐1,8‐naphthyridine) and [Ru2(CO)4(μ:κ2C,O‐CO2H)(μ‐OH)(NP‐Me2)2][BF4]2 ( 2 ), secured by the applications of naphthyridine derivatives. In the absence of any capping ligand, a tetranuclear complex [Ru4(CO)8(H2O)23‐OH)2(μ:κ2C,O‐CO2H)4][CF3SO3]2 ( 3 ) is isolated. The bridging hydroxido ligand in 1 is readily replaced by a π‐donor chlorido ligand, which results in [Ru2(CO)4(μ:κ2C,O‐CO2H)2(μ‐Cl)(NP‐PhOMe)2][BF4] ( 4 ). The production of [Ru2(CO)4]2+ has been attributed to the thermally induced decarboxylation of a bis(hydroxycarbonyl)–diruthenium(II) complex to a dihydrido–diruthenium(II) species, followed by dinuclear reductive elimination of molecular hydrogen with the concomitant formation of the RuI? RuI single bond. This work was originally instituted to find a reliable synthetic protocol for the [Ru2(CO)4(CH3CN)6]2+ precursor. It is herein prescribed that at least four equivalents of base, complete removal of chlorido ligands by TlI salts, and heating at reflux in acetonitrile for a period of four hours are the conditions for the optimal conversion. Premature quenching of the reaction resulted in the isolation of a trinuclear RuI2RuII complex [{Ru(NP‐Am)2(CO)}{Ru2(NP‐Am)2(CO)2(μ‐CO)2}(μ33C,O,O′‐CO2)][BF4]2 ( 6 ). These unprecedented diruthenium compounds are the dinuclear congeners of the water–gas shift (WGS) intermediates. The possibility of a dinuclear pathway eliminates the inherent contradiction of pH demands in the WGS catalytic cycle in an alkaline medium. A cooperative binuclear elimination could be a viable route for hydrogen production in WGS chemistry.  相似文献

Fully and partially solvated triply-bonded [Re2]4+ complexes have been synthesized and their X-ray structures are described. A fully solvated dirhenium salt with BArf [tetrakis(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)borate] as the counter anion [Re2(CH3CN)10][BArf]4 () has been characterized. The solubility of the complex in CH2Cl2 and THF in addition to CH3CN offers the possibility of improved reactivity. The structure of [Re2(micro-O)(CH3CN)10][BF4]4 () that possesses a linear [Re(III)-O-Re(III)]4+ unit is reported. Protonation reactions of cis-Re2Cl2(dppm)2(O2CCH3)2 and trans-Re2Cl4(dppm)2 with HBF4.Et2O in acetonitrile afforded cis and trans [Re2(dppm)2(CH3CN)6][BF4]4 ( and ), respectively. Prolonging the reaction time, however, does not lead to fully solvated complex [Re2(CH3CN)10][BF4]4. The neutral nitrogen donor ligands pynp (2-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthyridine) and tznp (2-(2-thiazolyl)-1,8-naphthyridine) react readily with [Re2(CH3CN)10][BF4]4 to provide trans-[Re2(pynp)2(CH3CN)4][BF4]4 and trans-[Re2(tznp)2(CH3CN)4][BF4]4. The X-ray structures trans-[Re2(pynp)2(CH3CN)4][BF4]4 () and trans-[Re2(tznp)2(CH3CN)4][BF4]3[PF6] () have been determined.  相似文献

Human placental ribonuclease inhibitor (hRI) containing six tryptophan (Trp) residues located at positions 19, 261, 263, 318, 375, and 438 and its complex with RNase A have been studied using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence (298 K) as well as low-temperature phosphorescence (77 K). Two Trp residues in wild-type hRI and also in the protein-protein complex with RNase A are resolved optically. The accessible surface area values of Trp residues in the wild-type hRI and its complex and consideration of inter-Trp energy transfer in the wild-type hRI reveal that one of the Trp residues is Trp19, which is located in a hydrophobic buried region. The other Trp residue is tentatively assigned as Trp375 based on experimental results on wild-type hRI and its complex. This residue in the wild-type hRI is more or less solvent exposed. Both the Trp residues are perturbed slightly on complex formation. Trp19 moves slightly toward a more hydrophobic region, and the environment of Trp375 becomes less solvent exposed. The complex formation also results in a more heterogeneous environment for both the optically resolved Trp residues.  相似文献

Sensitivity of a posterior quantity (f, P) to the choice of the sampling distribution f and prior P is considered. Sensitivity is measured by the range of (f, P) when f and P vary in nonparametric classes f and P respectively. Direct and iterative methods are described which obtain the range of (f, P) over f f when prior P is fixed, and also the overall range over f f and P P . When multiple i.i.d. observations X 1,...,X k are observed from f, the posterior quantity (f, P) is not a ratio-linear function of f. A method of steepest descent is proposed to obtain the range of (f, P). Several examples illustrate applications of these methods.  相似文献

The bis-bidentate bridging function of gbha2- with N,O-/N,O- coordination was observed for the first time in the complex (mu-gbha)[Ru(III)(acac)2]2 (1). Density functional theory calculations of 1 yield a triplet ground state with a large (deltaE > 6000 cm(-1)) singlet-triplet gap. Intermolecular antiferromagnetic coupling was observed (J approximately -5.3 cm(-1)) for the solid. Complex 1 undergoes two one-electron reduction and two one-electron oxidation steps; the five redox forms [(mu-gbha)[Ru(acac)2]2]n (n = -2, -1, 0, +1, +2) were characterized by UV-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemistry (NIR = near infrared). The paramagnetic intermediates were also investigated by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. The monoanion with a comproportionation constant K(c) of 2.7 x 10(8) does not exhibit an NIR band for a Ru(III)/Ru(II) mixed-valent situation; it is best described as a 1,4-diazabutadiene radical anion containing ligand gbha*3-, which binds two ruthenium(III) centers. A Ru(III)-type EPR spectrum with g1 = 2.27, g2 = 2.21, and g3 = 1.73 is observed as a result of antiferromagnetic coupling between one Ru(III) and the ligand radical. The EPR-active monocation (K(c) = 1.7 x 10(6)) exhibits a broad (deltanu(1/2) = 2600 cm(-1)) intervalence charge-transfer band at 1800 nm, indicating a valence-averaged (Ru3.5)2 formulation (class III) with a tendency toward class II (borderline situation).  相似文献

The method is highly efficient for the stereoselective synthesis of 4-cis-tetrahydropyranones. The extent of local excess or deficiency of a component solvent near the solute in a mixed binary solvent has been calculated using the Hall formalism for the Kirkwood-Buff equation. The possibility of calculation of the two solute-solvent Kirkwood-Buff parameters using the values is discussed. A model calculation using literature data for preferential solvation in mixed binary solvents is presented. The solute-solvent and solvent-solvent interactions and the relative size of the solvents are also shown to be relevant factors in determining the values.  相似文献

Paramagnetic diruthenium(III) complexes (acac)(2)Ru(III)(mu-OC(2)H(5))(2)Ru(III)(acac)(2) (6) and [(acac)(2)Ru(III)(mu-L)Ru(III)(acac)(2)](ClO(4))(2), [7](ClO(4))(2), were obtained via the reaction of binucleating bridging ligand, N,N,N',N'-tetra(2-pyridyl)-1,4-phenylenediamine [(NC(5)H(4))(2)-N-C(6)H(4)-N-(NC(5)H(4))(2), L] with the monomeric metal precursor unit (acac)(2)Ru(II)(CH(3)CN)(2) in ethanol under aerobic conditions. However, the reaction of L with the metal fragment Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(EtOH)(2)(2+) resulted in the corresponding [(bpy)(2)Ru(II) (mu-L) Ru(II)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(4), [8](ClO(4))(4). Crystal structures of L and 6 show that, in each case, the asymmetric unit consists of two independent half-molecules. The Ru-Ru distances in the two crystallographically independent molecules (F and G) of 6 are found to be 2.6448(8) and 2.6515(8) A, respectively. Variable-temperature magnetic studies suggest that the ruthenium(III) centers in 6 and [7](ClO(4))(2) are very weakly antiferromagnetically coupled, having J = -0.45 and -0.63 cm(-)(1), respectively. The g value calculated for 6 by using the van Vleck equation turned out to be only 1.11, whereas for [7](ClO(4))(2), the g value is 2.4, as expected for paramagnetic Ru(III) complexes. The paramagnetic complexes 6 and [7](2+) exhibit rhombic EPR spectra at 77 K in CHCl(3) (g(1) = 2.420, g(2) = 2.192, g(3) = 1.710 for 6 and g(1) = 2.385, g(2) = 2.177, g(3) = 1.753 for [7](2+)). This indicates that 6 must have an intermolecular magnetic interaction, in fact, an antiferromagnetic interaction, along at least one of the crystal axes. This conclusion was supported by ZINDO/1-level calculations. The complexes 6, [7](2+), and [8](4+) display closely spaced Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples with 70, 110, and 80 mV separations in potentials between the successive couples, respectively, implying weak intermetallic electrochemical coupling in their mixed-valent states. The electrochemical stability of the Ru(II) state follows the order: [7](2+) < 6 < [8](4+). The bipyridine derivative [8](4+) exhibits a strong luminescence [quantum yield (phi) = 0.18] at 600 nm in EtOH/MeOH (4:1) glass (at 77 K), with an estimated excited-state lifetime of approximately 10 micros.  相似文献

A technique for determination of residual wedge angle of high optical quality transparent parallel plate using a reversal shear interferometer-based optical system has been discussed. In this technique the parallel plate to be tested is used to introduce angular tilt in the preset two-beam interference fringes of a reversal shear interferometer. The parallelism is calculated from the angular tilt of the fringes. The technique is more sensitive compared to techniques using Fizeau interferometer and is most suitable for highly parallel transparent plate with very low residual wedge angle.  相似文献
