Rhazidin kann durch LiAlH₄-Reduktion in Quebrachamin übergeführt werden. Für den basischen Bestandteil des Alkaloides ergibt sich daher Formel V. Umgekehrt ist die Verbindung V durch Oxydation von Quebrachamin mit Peressigsäure in guter Ausbeute zugänglich.

Effect of Structure on Titration Curves of p-Bromoaniline-Formaldehyde-p-Cresol Copolymers in Nonaqueous Media

Copolymers obtained by the condensation of p-bromoaniline, formaldehyde, and p-cresol have been separated into five fractions by a fractional precipitation method. Some of these copolymers showed characteristic titration curves in non-aqueous media. The titration curves indicated a series of breaks which bear integral relations to each other. These features have been interpreted in terms of homoconjugation, intramolecular hydrogen bonding, and composition of the copolymers.     

Targeted synthesis of mu-oxo divanadium(V) compounds with asymmetry in coordination environments

Isovalent mu-oxo divanadium(V) compounds [L1VO(mu-O)VO(salen)] (1) and its bromo derivative [L2VO(mu-O)VO(salen)].CH3CN (2) (both H2L1 and H2L2 are tridentate dithiocarbazate-based ONS ligands) with ligands providing donor set and coordination number asymmetry in tandem have been synthesized for the first time; confirmations in favor of these unsymmetrical molecular structures have come from single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, as well as from NMR (both 1H and 51V) spectroscopy.     

Determination of heavy metals in industrial wastes by SXRF method

Samples of the raw input material and industrial wastes collected at different processing stages of lead smelting units have been analyzed using the synchrotron induced X-ray fluorescence method to detect and estimate the presence of heavy metals. Heavy metals such as Sb, Cd, Sn, Pb are found to be present in significant amounts.
