Urea nitrate was found to be an inexpensive, acid-free, and safe nitrating agent that provides mononitration of phenols and substituted phenols in excellent yields with exclusive ortho-selectivity under microwave irradiation. Microwave assisted reactions reduced the reaction times substantially and enhanced the product yields from good to excellent within shorter reaction times.  相似文献

Development of modified plastics has been studied through the LDPE-acylated starch blend films to examine the effect of different acyl groups and degrees of substitution(DS) on properties of films.Corn starch was modified with acetyl and butyryl groups and films were prepared by blending acylated starch with low density polyethylene(LDPE).Systematic studies were done to observe the effect of acyl groups,DS and starch concentration on the properties and biodegradability of the blend films.It was observed that blend films containing 5% acetylated and butyrylated starches of high DS(2.5,1.7) maintained 75% and 83% of tensile strength of LDPE films.Thermal analysis results indicated that acetylated and butyrylated starch blend films decomposed at 370 °C and 389 °C which were higher than the decomposition temperature of native starch film(349 °C).Scanning electron micrographs of blend films containing high DS acylated starch showed well dispersed starch particles due to improvement in dispersion between starch and LDPE.Water absorption capacity of high DS acetylated and butyrylated starch blend films(4.18% and 3.76%,respectively) was lower than that of native starch films(5%).This study has an advantage because of blown films prepared can be integrated with the present manufacturing systems without any other requirement.  相似文献

Aqueous micellar solutions of the cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium nitrate (NaNO(3)) were examined using steady and dynamic rheology, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and cryogenic-transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). Upon addition of NaNO(3), the CTAB spherical micelles transform into long, flexible wormlike micelles, conveying viscoelastic properties to the solutions. The zero-shear viscosity (eta(0)) versus NaNO(3) concentration curve exhibits a well-defined maximum. Likewise, upon increase in temperature, the viscosity decreases. Dynamic rheological data of the entangled micellar solutions can be well described by the Maxwell model. Changes in the structural parameters of the micelles with addition of NaNO(3) were inferred from SANS measurements. The intensity of scattered neutrons at the low q region was found to increase with increasing NaNO(3) concentration. This suggests an increase in size of the micelles and/or decrease of intermicellar interactions with increasing salt concentration. Analysis of the SANS data using prolate ellipsoidal structure and Yukawa form of interaction potential between micelles indicates that addition of NaNO(3) leads to a decrease in the surface charge of the ellipsoidal micelles and consequently an increase in their length. The structural transition from spherical to entangled threadlike micelles, induced by the addition of NaNO(3) to CTAB micelles is further confirmed by cryo-TEM.  相似文献

Aggregation behavior of a novel anionic amphiphilic molecule, sodium N-(2-(n-dodecylamino)ethanoyl)-L-alaninate (C(12)Ala), was studied in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant at different [C(12)Ala]/[SDS] molar ratios and concentrations. The viscosity of aqueous SDS solution increased in the presence of C(12)Ala surfactant. The bulk viscosity of water was found to increase upon increase of both molar ratio and total surfactant concentration. The microenvironments of the self-assemblies were investigated using the fluorescence probe technique. Fluorescence anisotropy studies indicated formation of rodlike micelles. Both dynamic light scattering and small-angle neutron scattering measurements were performed to obtain the size and shape of the microstructures. The concentration and composition dependence of the hydrodynamic diameter of the aggregates were investigated. Transmission electron micrographs revealed the presence of a hexagonal liquid crystal phase in dilute solutions of the C(12)Ala-SDS mixture. The micrographs of moderately concentrated solution, however, showed cholesteric liquid-crystal structures with fingerprint-like texture. Temperature-dependent phase behavior of the self-assemblies was studied by use of the fluorescence probe technique.  相似文献

The kinetics of micellar-catalyzed oxidation of mannose by N-bromophthalimide was studied in the presence of sulfuric acid at 313 K. The orders of reaction with respect to [mannose], [oxidant], and [H+] were found to be fractional, first, and negative fractional order, respectively. Anionic micelles of sodiumdodecyl sulfate showed a partial inhibitory effect, while cationic micelles of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide increased the reaction rate with the same kinetic behavior. The reaction was catalyzed by cationic micelles, because of favorable electrostatic/thermodynamic/hydrophobic/hydrogen bonding between reactants and cationic micelles. Their catalytic roles are best explained by Berezin’s model. A variation of [phthalimide] showed that the rate of reaction decreased with increasing [phthalimide]. It was observed that, an increase of [mercuric acetate] had no effect on reaction velocity. The influence of salts on the reaction rate was also studied. The rate constant (kW ), binding constants (KS+KO), and corresponding activation parameters (Ea, ⊿H#, ⊿S#, and ⊿G#) were determined. A detailed mechanism with associated reaction kinetics is presented and discussed.  相似文献

Single crystals of NaBi(WO4)2 (NBW) have been grown by Czochralski technique, employing differently synthesized starting charge and different axial temperature gradients. The causes behind inherent problems related to compositional changes and associated lowering in crystallization temperature have been probed by analyzing XRD and DTA patterns of post growth residual charge. Presence of low melting phases viz. Na2WO4 and hitherto unreported compound Na5Bi(WO4)4 is thought to be responsible for the observed decrease in crystallization temperature. This problem was tackled by segregating pure phase material through re‐crystallization, under high axial temperature gradient. The use of re‐crystallized charge enabled transformation of almost the entire charge into a single crystal of high transparency. The effect of starting charge synthesis and temperature gradient on the optical transmission characteristics of NBW crystal has also been investigated. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
