A perturbative model is studied for the tunneling of many-particle states from the ground band to the first excited energy band, mimicking Landau-Zener decay for ultracold, spinless atoms in quasi-one-dimensional optical lattices subjected to a tunable tilting force. The distributions of the computed tunneling rates provide an independent and experimentally accessible signature of the regular-chaotic transition in the strongly correlated many-body dynamics of the ground band.  相似文献

The complex modal analysis of rods equipped with an arbitrary number of viscous damping devices is addressed. The following types of damping devices are considered: external (grounded) spring-damper, attached mass-spring-damper and internal spring-damper. Within a standard 1D formulation of the vibration problem, the theory of generalized functions is used to model axial stress and displacement discontinuities at the locations of the damping devices. By using the separate variable approach, a simple solution procedure of the motion equation leads to exact closed-form expressions of the characteristic equation and eigenfunctions, which inherently fulfill the required matching conditions at the locations of the damping devices. Based on the characteristic equation, a closed-form sensitivity analysis of the eigensolution is implemented. The displacement eigenfunctions exhibit orthogonality conditions. They can be used with the complex mode superposition principle to tackle forced vibration problems and, in conjunction with the stress eigenfunctions, to build the exact dynamic stiffness matrix of the rod for complex modal analysis of truss structures. Numerical results are discussed for a variety of parameters.  相似文献

Composite MnOx CeOx catalysts (Mnat: Ceat = 1) synthesized via the redox and coprecipitation routes were comparatively characterized by micro‐Raman spectroscopy using a laser irradiation power ranging between 0.6 and 4.2 mW. A quasi‐molecular dispersion of the oxide species determines a major and irreversible structural rearrangement of the redox MnOx CeOx system because of severe heating effects for laser power in excess of 0.6 mW. The X‐ray diffraction data of samples calcined in the range of 673 1273 K confirm that the micro‐Raman characterization of the composite MnOx CeOx systems requires an adequate minimization of the irradiation power to prevent the strong sintering and restructuring phenomena due to laser‐heating effects. We propose a photonic realization of tunneling control for two strongly correlated particles moving on a one-dimensional lattice, based on light transport in a square waveguide lattice with a periodically curved axis. We show the photonic analogue of dynamic localization of correlated particles and suggest the possibility to coherently suppress particle interaction.  相似文献

The two-dimensional J-J' dimerized quantum Heisenberg model is studied on the square lattice by means of (stochastic series expansion) quantum Monte Carlo simulations as a function of the coupling ratio alpha=J'/J. The critical point of the order-disorder quantum phase transition in the J-J' model is determined as alpha_c=2.5196(2) by finite-size scaling for up to approximately 10 000 quantum spins. By comparing six dimerized models we show, contrary to the current belief, that the critical exponents of the J-J' model are not in agreement with the three-dimensional classical Heisenberg universality class. This lends support to the notion of nontrivial critical excitations at the quantum critical point.  相似文献

In the projective relativity based on the de Sitter universe, Maxwell's generalized theory gives us the magnetohydrodynamics, valid on a cosmic scale, for hyperdense matter and high energies. From the new theory can be deduced as limiting cases the hydrodynamics and thermohydrodynamics, the ideal magnetohydrodynamics, the electromagnetism, and the electrohydrodynamics, invariants for the projective Fantappié group.  相似文献

If we study the de Sitter universe in the geodetic representation, we obtain the projective relativity, valid on the cosmic scale, for hyperdense matter and high energies. The new theory can be applied also to quantum and elementary particle physics. Molecular self-diffusion along the pitch axis of a twisted nematic is measured by its motional averaging effect on the deuterium quadrupole interaction. The diffusion constant is found to decrease as the pitch length is decreased. This result is explained by simple phenomenological considerations and is consistent with published viscosity measurements.  相似文献

Two models for the Freedericksz transition in a fluctuating magnetic field are considered: one is based on a dichotomic and the other on a nonlinear Gaussian noise. Both noises are characterized by a finite correlation time. It is shown that the linear response assumption leading to the best Fokker-Planck approximation in the dichotomic and nonlinear Gaussian cases can be trusted only up to the order 1 and 0, respectively. The role of the corrections to the linear response approximation is discussed and it is shown how to replace the non-Fokker-Planck terms stemming from these corrections with equivalent terms of standard type. This technique is shown to produce perfect agreement with the exact analytical results (dichotomic noise) and to satisfactorily fit the results of analog simulation (nonlinear Gaussian noise).  相似文献
