In this paper the dynamic stability of greyhound gait was analyzed within the framework of nonlinear dynamics theory. A video based motion analysis system was utilized to obtain the kinematic data of the hindlimb joints of greyhounds at trot. Phase plane portraits and first return maps for the coxofemoral, femorotibial, and the tarsal joints were calculated from averaged kinematic data for each dog. The analysis was based on the assumption that the steady state dog locomotion could be represented as a nonlinear periodic system. Using the Floquet theory, the dynamic stability of gait was quantified by computing the characteristic multipliers from experimental data. A stability index based on multipliers was used for comparison between normal and arthritic dogs. Phase plane portraits and first return maps of the dogs with transient synovitis were compared with the averaged portraits of the normal dogs. It was observed that the coxofemoral angle exhibited the maximum difference while the femorotibial and the tarsal joints showed little or no difference from those of the normals. Comparison of the Floquet multipliers indicated that the dogs with synovitis had a less stable gait than that of the normal dogs.  相似文献

The influence of reaction rate on the transfer of chemically reactive species in the laminar visco-elastic fluid flow immersed in a porous medium over a stretching sheet is considered. The flow is caused solely by the linearly stretching sheet and the reactive species is emitted from this sheet and undergoes an isothermal and homogeneous one-stage reaction as it diffuses into the surrounding fluid. A similarity transformation is introduced, which reduces the concentration conservation equation to an ordinary differential equation. An exact analytical solution due to Siddappa and Abel (Z. Angew. Math. Phys. 36 (1985) 890) is adopted for velocity, where as the concentration equation is obtained numerically for higher-order reactions. The numerical computations show that the effect of destructive chemical reaction is to reduce the thickness of concentration boundary layer and increase the mass transfer rate from the sheet to the surrounding fluid. This effect is more effective for zero- and first-order reaction than second- and third-order reactions.  相似文献

The onset of double diffusive convection in a two component couple stress fluid layer with Soret and Dufour effects has been studied using both linear and non-linear stability analysis. The linear theory depends on normal mode technique and non-linear analysis depends on a minimal representation of double Fourier series. The effect of couple stress parameter, the Soret and Dufour parameters, and the Prandtl number on the stationary and oscillatory convection are presented graphically. The Dufour parameter enhances the stability of the couple stress fluid system in case of both stationary and oscillatory mode. The effect of positive Soret parameter is to destabilize the system in case of stationary mode while it stabilizes the system in case of oscillatory mode. The negative Soret parameter enhances the stability in both stationary and oscillatory mode. The couple stress parameter enhances the stability of the system in both stationary and oscillatory modes. The Dufour parameter increases the heat transfer while the couple stress parameter has reverse effect. The Soret parameter has negligible influence on heat transfer. Both Dufour and Soret parameters increases the mass transfer while the couple stress parameter has dual effect depending on the value of the Rayleigh number.  相似文献

The first equation of the BBGKY hierarchy is closed with a truncation scheme which conserves mass, momentum and total energy. Resulting kinetic equation is solved numerically using the lattice Boltzmann method over an isothermal \(D2Q9\) lattice. The inter particle forces are derived using a density gradient approximation to the collision term of the BBGKY hierarchy and the resulting non-ideal equation of state is calculated. In this paper, we show analytically that the time rate of change of Boltzmann’s H-function i.e., \(\frac{dH \left( t \right) }{dt}\) is zero for this truncation scheme, implying reversibility in time. Therefore, a BGK term is added to the collision integral to describe the macroscopic irreversibility. Both the local and global \(H\) -functions are calculated numerically for significant variations in the density. We also have simulated a switching experiment over this system and obtained the non-equilibrium work distributions.  相似文献

The effects on squeezing and sub-poissonian of light in fourth harmonic generation (FHG) are investigated based on the fully quantum mechanically up to the first order Hamiltonian interaction in gt, where g is the coupling constant between the modes per second and t is the interaction time between the waves during the process in a nonlinear medium. FHG is a process in which an incident laser beam of the fundamental frequency ω interacts with a nonlinear medium to produce the harmonic frequency at 4ω. The coupled Heisenberg equations of motion involving real and imaginary parts of the quadrature operators are established. The occurrence of amplitude squeezing effects in both the quadratures of the radiation field in the fundamental mode is investigated and found to be dependent on the selective phase values of the field amplitude. The photon statistics of the pump mode in this process have also been investigated and found to be sub-poissonian in nature. It is found that there is no possibility to produce squeezed light in the harmonic mode up to first-order interaction in gt. Further, we have found the case up to second-order Hamiltonian interaction in gt that the normal squeezing in the harmonic mode is directly depends upon the fourth-order squeezing of the initial pump field. This gives a method of converting higher-order (fourth-order) squeezing into normal squeezing in the harmonic mode and vice versa.  相似文献

The M.E.S.S. software suite for solving large scale matrix equations and related problems is the successor of the obsolete LyaPack MATLAB® toolbox. The software suite consists of a new MATLAB toolbox and a separate C library C-M.E.S.S. which works independent from MATLAB. Due to the fact that many scientists use Python with NumPy and SciPy for their computations, we want to provide the key algorithms of M.E.S.S. there as well. The objective of the present work is to investigate theoretically the Hiemenz flow and heat transfer of an incompressible viscous nanofluid past a porous wedge sheet in the presence of suction/injection due to solar energy (incident radiation). The wall of the wedge is embedded in a uniform Darcian porous medium in order to allow for possible fluid wall suction or injection and has a power-law variation of the wall temperature. The partial differential equations governing the problem under consideration are transformed by a special form of Lie symmetry group transformations viz. one-parameter group of transformation into a system of ordinary differential equations, which are solved numerically using Runge-Kutta-Gill based shooting method. The conclusion is drawn that the flow field and temperature are significantly influenced by thermal radiation, nanoparticle volume fraction, and porosity of the sheet.  相似文献

Recently, multimodal nanoparticles integrating dual- or tri-imaging modalities into a single hybrid nanosystem have attracted plenty of attention in biomedical research. Here, we report the fabrication of two types of multimodal micelle-encapsulated nanoparticles, which were systematically characterized and thoroughly evaluated in terms of their imaging potential and biocompatibility. Optical and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging probes were integrated by conjugating DOTA-gadolinium (Gd) derivative to quantum dot based nanomicelles. Two amphiphilic block copolymer micelles, amine-terminated mPEG-phospholipid and amine-modified Pluronic F127, were chosen as the capping agents because of their excellent biocompatibility and ability to prevent opsonization and prolong circulation time in vivo. Owing to their different hydrophobic-hydrophilic structure, the micellar aggregates exhibited different sizes and protection of core QDs. This work revealed the differences between these nanomicelles in terms of the stability over a wide range of pH, along with their cytotoxicity and the capacity for chelating gadolinium, thus providing a useful guideline for tailor-making multimodal nanoparticles for specific biomedical applications.  相似文献

A three-step method for the synthesis of (S)-(1-aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl)carbamic acid (S)-1-(2-fluorophenyl)ethyl ester HCl salt (12) was developed, starting from alcohol 3 and resulting in an overall yield of 50%.
