Atomic emission has been observed from 20 elements in an electrically heated graphite furnace. Two-line temperature measurements carried out on iron indicate an excitation temperature of ca. 2450 K when the temperature of the furnace walls is ca. 2420 K. Calibration curves have been obtained for Al, Mo and Cr, each showing a useful working range. The detection limit for Al was 5 pg, and for Cr and Mo was 140 pg. Bismuth was found to give a poor detection limit (10 ng). Time resolved traces of background emission and line emission intensity shows the validity of using the two-line method to measure the excitation temperature of iron. A thermal excitation mechanism of emission is proposed. 相似文献

The reduction in bank float requires that cheque processing procedures be upgraded in order to reduce the elapsed time between the receipt of a cheque and its presentation for collection at the bank upon which it is drawn. Traditionally, attempts to reduce float have focussed on the procedures for receiving checks and processing steps in preparation for clearing. Although the transporting of cheques from receiving locations to the processing location would most likely be the most significant factor in the elapsed time between receipt and eventual presentation for clearance, the float implications has largely been ignored in the development of transportation schedules in commercial banks. In attempting to maximize cheques processed, the timing of branch pickups should be based upon branch volume available and proof and transit processing capacity as well as travel time considerations. A heuristic model described in this paper represents the first methodology providing the opportunity for simultaneously evaluating these variables to develop schedules which offer opportunities for improvements in bank funds flow. 相似文献

A new iterative estimation procedure for the extreme value index γ is proposed and one implemented iterative estimator is investigated in detail, which is asymptotically as good as the uniform minimum varianced unbiased estimator in an ideal model. In cell and tissue samples, water is normally three orders of magnitude more abundant than other metabolites. Thus, water suppression is required in the acquisition of NMR spectra to overcome the dynamic range problem and to recover metabolites that overlap with the broad baseline of the strong water resonance. However, the heterogeneous cellular environment often complicates water suppression and the strong coupling of water to membrane lipids interferes with the NMR detection of membrane associated lipid components. The widely used water suppression techniques including presaturation and double pulsed field gradient selective echo result in more than a 70% reduction in membrane associated lipid components in proton spectra of cells and tissues compared to proton spectra acquired in the absence of water suppression. A water suppression technique based on the combination of selective excitation pulses and pulsed field gradients is proposed to use in the acquisition of high resolution MAS NMR spectra of tissue specimens and cell samples. This pulse sequence methodology enables efficient water suppression for intact cells and tissue samples and eliminates signal loss from cellular metabolites. 相似文献

We are interested in using SU-8 dense gratings with very high aspect ratio microchannels as the master mold for fabrication of child molds needed for replication. For such applications, the sidewall taper angle and mask replication fidelity of SU-8 are very important. Increasing the exposure time was experimentally observed to decrease the width of the microchannel and the sidewall angle of SU-8 bars. A new diffraction-refraction-reflection model was also developed. The calculated microchannel width and sidewall angle at high exposure dose agreed well with the experimentally observed values indicating that reflection at the silicon substrate was significant. The larger than calculated actual microchannel width for low exposure dose was shown to be due to leaching of unreacted SU-8 in the developer. Dense gratings of high aspect ratio SU-8 bars separated by high aspect ratio (19.1) microchannels were also demonstrated. 相似文献
