This paper presents the effect of ultrasound on the simultaneous removal of Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions from a binary aqueous solution in the presence of natural sorbent (sono-sorption method). The obtained results compare with the results of control method which was achieved in the absence of ultrasound. The experiments under sonication were carried out by 20 kHz apparatus. The effect of different parameters such as the amount of sorbent, contact time, temperature, and specially the competitive sorption of ions were considered for both methods. It is found that the sorption efficiency of Cd2+ was decreased in the presence of Pb2+. But, the presence of Cd2+ had a negligible effect on the removal of Pb2+. The results show that in the binary solution, the removal efficiency was higher in the presence of ultrasound than the control method. Both ions in binary solution can be removed to near completion with ultrasound. Two different multi-component isotherm equations based on the Langmuir isotherm were applied on the studied system to predict the sorption behavior of the components.  相似文献

Warionia saharae Benth. & Coss. (Asteraceae) is an endemic species of North Africa naturally grown in the southwest of the Algerian Sahara. In the present study, this species’ hydromethanolic leaf extract was investigated for its phenolic profile characterized by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with a diode array detector and an electrospray mass spectrometer (UHPLC-DAD-ESI/MS). Additionally, the chemical composition of W. saharae was analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, and its antioxidant potential was assessed through five in vitro tests: DPPH scavenging activity, ABTS●+ scavenging assay, galvinoxyl scavenging activity, ferric reducing power (FRP), and cupric reducing antioxidant capacity. The UHPLC-DAD-ESI/MS analysis allowed the detection and quantification of 22 compounds, with taxifolin as the dominant compound. The GC–MS analysis allowed the identification of 37 compounds, and the antioxidant activity data indicate that W. saharae extract has a very high capacity to capture radicals due to its richness in compounds with antioxidant capacity. The extract also showed potent α-glucosidase inhibition as well as a good anti-inflammatory activity. However, weak anti-α-amylase and anticholinesterase activities were recorded. Moreover, an in silico docking study was performed to highlight possible interactions between three significant compounds identified in W. saharae extract and α-glucosidase enzyme.  相似文献

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an invasive form of hepatic cancer arising from the accumulation of multiple genetic alterations. In this study, the causal role of disturbed canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway was approved, and some of HCC-driven important gene candidates were determined. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNAs, are the key regulators of important cancer genes, and their participation in tumorigenesis has been shown. By reviewing literature, WNT1 gene with functional significance was selected to approve miRNAs as new subjects for targeted therapy.For proper and fast miRNA detection and also confirmation of the role of bioinformatics in obtaining practical data, we benefited from different bioinformatics tools such as TargetScan, miRanda, and DIANA. In order to use an HCC model, we used HepG2 cell line. Luciferase assay was applied to assess the ability of the selected miRNAs in targeting WNT1 3′-UTR. To overexpress the selected miRNA in HepG2 cell line, viral construct was prepared. Quantitative real-time PCR was performed to evaluate selected miRNA and target gene expression levels. miR-122 was selected according to data concerning various bioinformatics tools.miR-122 was downregulated and WNT1 gene expression was upregulated in HepG2 cell line. After viral construct transduction, miR-122 expression was elevated and WNT1 expression was notably declined. Finally, we introduced WNT1 gene as one of the important genes in HCC, and also, we showed that miR-122 can regulate WNT1 gene expression.Moreover, our study determines the potential of bioinformatics analyses in providing accurate and reliable data for miRNA: messenger RNA (mRNA) prediction.  相似文献

The thermal degradation of lignins extracted from bagasse, rice straw, corn stalk and cotton stalk, have been investigated using the techniques of thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA), between room temperature and 600°C. The actual pyrolysis of all samples starts above 200°C and is slow. The results calculated from TG curves indicated that the activation energy, Efor thermal degradation for different lignins lies in the range 7.949–8.087 kJ mol?1. The DTA of all studied lignins showed an endothermic tendency around 100°C. In the active pyrolysis temperature range, thermal degradation occurred via two exothermic process at about 320 and 480°C, and a large endothermic pyrolysis region between 375 and 450°C. The first exothermic peak represents the main oxidation and decomposition reaction, the endothermic effect represents completion of the decomposition and the final exothermic peak represents charring.  相似文献
