The solvent control on the ability of a partially substituted lower rim calix(4)arene derivative 5,11,17,23,tetra-tert-butyl[25,27-bis(hydroxy)-26,28-bis(ethylthioethoxy)]-calix(4)arene, 1 to host soft metal cations (Hg(II) and Ag(I)) is demonstrated through 1H NMR, electrochemical (conductance measurements), and thermodynamic characterization of the complexation process in a wide variety of solvents. Solvent-ligand interactions were assessed from 1H NMR measurements involving 1 and various solvents in CDCl3. Thus, the formation of a 1:1 1-CH3CN adduct is reported. As far as metal cations are concerned, depending on the medium their complexation with 1 was only observed for Hg(II) and Ag(I). Thus, in acetonitrile, 1 is more selective for Hg(II) relative to Ag(I) by a factor of 2.2 x 10(3). In methanol the selectivity is reversed to an extent that the affinity of 1 for Ag(I) is 1.4 x 10(3) higher than that for Hg(II). However, 1 is unable to recognize selectively these cations in N,N-dimethylformamide while in propylene carbonate the ability of 1 to interact with these cations is lost. An outstanding feature of thermodynamics emerges when an assessment is made of the ligand effect on the complexation of these cations and analogues calix(4)arene derivatives. Thus, in acetonitrile the thermodynamics of cation complexation by the hydrophilic cavity of a calix(4)arene containing mixed pendant groups is built up from thermodynamic data for the same process involving derivatives with common functionalities at the narrow rim. This is a unique example of the additive contribution of pendant arms in the field of thermodynamics of calixarene chemistry.  相似文献

Differential scanning calorimetry has been applied to the study of the solid system cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone/trimethoprim.Different results have been systematically obtained on co-ground and not co-ground mixtures, suggesting some type of interaction to take place between components as a consequence of co-grinding.A simple phenomenological model of the interaction is proposed, which quite satisfactorily agrees with thermal data.
Zusammenfassung Das feste System von vernetztem Polyvinyl-pyrolidin/Trimethoprim wurde mittels DSC untersucht. Unterschiedliche Ergebnisse wurden systematisch für zusammen und nicht zusammen verriebene Mischungen gefunden, was auf eine Wechselwirkung zwischen Komponenten beim Verreiben hindeutet. Ein einfaches phänomenologisches Modell dieser Wechselwirkung wird vorgeschlagen, das mit thermischen Daten befriedigend übereinstimmt.

The changes in electronic structure and hardness as inferred from the bulk modulus are investigated for model structures of ternary compounds XC3N3 (X = B, Al, P, As, Ga) within the framework of density functional theory (DFT). The optimisations of the proposed two‐ (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) structures and the calculations of the bulk moduli are performed by a pseudo potential method. The electronic structures are calculated with the augmented sphere wave method (ASW). The obtained hardness for 2D BC3N3 system (B0 ~ 220 GPa) points to a magnitude close to that of graphitic C3N4. For heavier X atoms it decreases rapidly. This is equally observed for the 3D systems examined in the β‐C3N4 structure for which B0(β‐BC3N3) amounts to ~330 GPa. Within the magnitude of the well known hard material cubic BN, the BC3N3 phases can be predicted as candidates for ultra hard materials. The electronic effect induced by the chemical nature of the X substitutional was examined according to its position in the periodic table i.e. XIII or XV. Both, band structures and the electron localisation function (ELF) were used for this analysis. The ELF plots show a decreasing covalency with heavier X‐atoms. Potential applications of the devised systems are proposed such as dopings with atoms (Li, rare gas) and molecules (N2).  相似文献

A new ligand, LC, bis-[(6'-carboxy-2,2'-bipyridine-6-yl)]phenylphosphine oxide, in which the tridentate 6-carboxy-2,2'-bipyridyl arms are directly linked to a phenylphosphine oxide fragment, has been synthesized. The corresponding [Ln.LC]Cl.xH2O complexes (Ln = Eu, x = 4, and Tb, x = 3) were isolated from solutions containing equimolar amounts of LC and hydrated LnCl3 salts and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectroscopy. The interactions of the Eu complex with various anions (AMP(2-), ADP3-, ATP,4- HPO4(2-), and NO3-) were studied by titration experiments, using UV-vis, luminescence spectroscopy, and excited-state lifetime measurements. The results are in keeping with strong interactions with the ADP3-, ATP4-, and phosphate anions in TRIS/HCl buffer (0.01 M, pH = 7.0), as revealed by the determination of the conditional stepwise association constants. These values are higher than the one determined for ligand LB, bis[(6'-carboxy-2,2'-bipyridine-6-methyl-yl)]-n-butylamine (Delta log K approximately 1-2). The interaction of complexes [Ln.LB]+ and [Ln.LC]+ with nitrate, monohydrogenophosphate, methyl phosphate (MeP2-), methyldiphosphate (MeDP3-), and methyltriphosphate (MeTP4-) anions was investigated by means of quantum mechanical (QM) calculations. The results, combined with data on the photophysical impact of the sequential competitive binding of anions to the Eu complexes in water, suggest that LB is too flexible to ensure a good coordination pocket, while the molecular structure of ligand LC stabilizes both the formation of the lanthanide complexes and its adducts with ATP.  相似文献

The Neveu-Schwarz-Ramond type II closed superstring is considered to evolve in a curved space-time manifold. The Krichever-Novikov global operator formalism is used to construct the generators of a super-conformal algebra on a Riemann surface . The computation for the quantum algebra of these generators is explicitly presented. It is shown that the theory is free from super-conformal anomalies if the target manifold is ten dimensional and satisfies the Ricci flatness condition.  相似文献

Summary The rates of oxidation of four chelating agents, NTA, EDTA, CDTA, and DTPA with Ce(IV), in sulfuric acid media, were determined spectrophotometrically by a stopped-flow technique. The reductive ability is in the order CDTA > EDTA > DTPA > NTA. The influence of varying the acidity of the medium was studied, and in each case a maximum in the rate constant vs. [H+] plot was observed. A possible interpretation of the reactivities and the influence of acidity is advanced.

Zusammenfassung Die Oxydationsgeschwindigkeiten von 4 Chelaten (NTA, ÄDTA, CDTA und DTPA) mit Ce(IV) in saurer Lösung wurden spektrophotometrisch mit Hilfe der stopped-flow-Technik bestimmt. Die Reduzierfähigkeit nimmt in der Reihenfolge CDTA > ÄDTA > DTPA > NTA ab. Der Einfluß verschiedener Säuregehalte in der Lösung wurde untersucht, und in jedem Fall wurde ein Maximum in der graphischen Darstellung der Geschwindigkeitskonstante gegen [H+] beobachtet. Eine mögliche Erklärung des Reaktionsvermögens und des Säureeinflusses wird gegeben.

The preparation of 1-aryloxymethyl-1,2,3-triazoles, potential biologically active compounds particularly in the pesticide field, is described. The action of sodium azide on aryloxymethyl halides gave aryloxymethyl azides. The cycloaddition reactions of azides with acetylenic compounds provided the expected triazoles in good yields.  相似文献
