This paper is focused on modeling of sorption and desorption kinetics as well as on equilibrium butan-1-ol vapor sorption in blended poly(dimethylsiloxane)-benzyl-3-butylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate membranes. Based on the generalized Fick’s second law, on time-dependent boundary conditions and on two models of equilibrium sorption, the diffusion coefficients of butan-1-ol were calculated from the experimental data using the finite difference modeling. Although anomalous sorption occurred at higher concentrations of butan-1-ol, the diffusion coefficients calculated from the data on sorption and desorption kinetics were in a good agreement. The increase of the ionic liquid content in poly(dimethylsiloxane) elevated the butan-1-ol equilibrium concentration in the membrane, and, at the same time, decreased the values of butan-1-ol diffusion coefficient.  相似文献

Weak relatively uniform convergences (wru-convergences, for short) in lattice ordered groups have been investigated in previous authors’ papers. In the present article, the analogous notion for MV-algebras is studied. The system s(A) of all wru-convergences on an MV-algebra A is considered; this system is partially ordered in a natural way. Assuming that the MV-algebra A is divisible, we prove that s(A) is a Brouwerian lattice and that there exists an isomorphism of s(A) into the system s(G) of all wru-convergences on the lattice ordered group G corresponding to the MV-algebra A. Under the assumption that the MV-algebra A is archimedean and divisible, we investigate atoms and dual atoms in the system s(A).  相似文献

Electronic structure of manganese ferrite is calculated using the density functional theory. Partially inverted structure with the inversion parameter y=0.0625 is considered, using four different supercells (Mn15Fe)A[Fe31Mn]BO64 that differ in relative position of FeA and MnB. The crystal structure was optimized by minimizing the forces acting on the atoms. The spin magnetic moments m of Mn and Fe ions depend to some extent on their position in the supercell, but we found that in all cases m(MnB) is considerably smaller (by approx. one Bohr magneton) than m(MnA). This indicates strongly that the formal valence of MnB is 3+. Trivalent manganese in an octahedral position is expected to exhibit a Jahn–Teller effect and corresponding analysis was performed. No pronounced localization of the extra electron in the octahedral sublattice that would represent the Fe2+ ion was found.  相似文献

It is generally postulated that amyloid-beta-peptides play a central role in the progressive neurodegeneration observed in Alzheimer's disease. Important pathological properties of these peptides, such as neurotoxicity and resistance to proteolytic degradation, depend on the ability of amyloid-beta-peptides to form beta-sheet structures and/or amyloid fibrils. Amyloid-beta-peptides are known to aggregate spontaneously in vitro with the formation of amyloid fibrils. The intervention on the amyloid-beta-peptides aggregation process can be envisaged as an approach to stopping or slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease. In the last few years a number of small molecules have been reported to interfere with the in vitro aggregation of amyloid-beta-peptides. Melatonin, a hormone recently found to protect neurons against amyloid-beta-peptide toxicity, interacts with amyloid-beta-peptide (1-40) and amyloid-beta-peptide (1-42) and inhibits the progressive formation of beta-sheet and/or amyloid fibrils. These interactions between melatonin and the amyloid peptides have been demonstrated by circular dichroism (CD) and electron microscopy for amyloid-beta-peptide (1-40) and amyloid-beta-peptide (1-42) and by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy for amyloid-beta-peptide (1-40). Our electrospray ionization mass spectrometric (ESI-MS) studies also proved that there is a hydrophobic interaction between amyloid-beta-peptide (1-40) and melatonin and the proteolytic investigations suggested that the interaction took place on the 29-40 amyloid-beta-peptide segment. The wide-ranging application of these results would provide further information and help in biological research.  相似文献

N‐isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAAm) hydrogels are known as thermosensitive crosslinked polymer networks. In this work, the network parameters of their composites, i.e., NIPAAm/sodium montmorillonite (NIPAAm/Na+MMT) hydrogels synthesized by free radical solution polymerization in the presence of two different types of accelerator (tetramethyl ethylenediamine (TEMED) and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA)) and initiator (potassium persulphate (K2S2O8) and cerium ammonium nitrate ((NH4)2Ce(NO3)6), Ce(IV)) using five different clay content (in the range of 1.0–5.0 wt % of total monomer concentration) at 25 °C were presented and discussed. FTIR spectra, XRD patterns, SEM photographs, and network parameters of the samples indicated that the presence of COOH groups on EDTA molecules was resulted in the formation of exfoliated structures and the activity of EDTA/KPS redox pair was higher than those of TEMED/KPS and EDTA/Ce (IV) pairs. The compression moduli (G) of the hydrogels initiated with EDTA/Ce(IV) redox pair showed smooth and continual changings with increase in Na+MMT content (for swelling equilibrium at 25 °C) on the contrary of EDTA/KPS and TEMED/KPS pairs. It might be related to low initiator efficiency of cerium ammonium nitrate than KPS molecules, having higher effective crosslinking density with increasing clay content. On the other hand, the G moduli of NIPAAm/Na+MMT hydrogels (above their phase transition temperature) initiated with TEMED/KPS redox pair were higher than the others because of the more hydrophobic nature of TEMED molecules. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
