Thiol-capped water-soluble PbS nanocrystals (NCs) stabilized with 1-thioglycerol, dithioglycerol, or a mixture of 1-thioglycerol/dithioglycerol (TGL/DTG) were prepared via one-stage synthesis at room temperature. We found that NCs stabilized with a TGL/DTG mixture show efficient and stable infrared photoluminescence centered in the second "biological window" (1050-1200 nm). Under optimized conditions, full width at half-maximum of the PL emission peak was from 70 to 100 nm. PbS NCs were stable to precipitation and aggregation for the time period from 2 to 3 months when stored in the dark under room temperature. Room-temperature photoluminescence quantum efficiency of NCs was from 7 to 10%. When NCs were stored at 37 degrees C, their PL emission red-shifted, consistent with the NC growth. 相似文献

H-bonding motifs for pyrazoles and oximes have been examined in the Cambridge Structural Database. The accessible surface of the N atoms has been found to be useful as a discriminator to divide structures into dimer and catemer motifs for both pyrazoles and oximes. Low accessibility favors dimers and tetramers and high values favor catemers and trimers. Total molecular volume shows some correlation for oximes, while high values favor dimers. Empirical rules were successfully applied to predict the motifs of eight new structures in the subsequent release of the CSD. 相似文献

The active site of HRP Compound I (Cpd I) is modeled using hybrid density functional theory (UB3LYP). The effects of neighboring amino acids and of environmental polarity are included. The low-lying states have porphyrin radical cationic species (Por(*)(+)). However, since the Por(*)(+) species is a very good electron acceptor, other species, which can be either the ligand or side chain amino acid residues, may participate in electron donation to the Por(*)(+) moiety, thereby making Cpd I behave like a chemical chameleon. Thus, this behavior that was noted before for Cpd I of P450 is apparently much more wide ranging than initially appreciated. Since chemical chameleonic behavior property was found to be expressed not only in the properties of Cpd I itself, but also in its reactivity, the roots of this phenomenon are generalized. This article is a critical analysis of kinetic dataavailable on carbocationic polymerizations. A survey of published propagation rate constant (kp) data revealed several orders of magnitude differences. In this article, an explanation of this apparent discrepancy is offered with a case study involving the carbocationic polymerization of 2,4,6‐trimethylstyrene (TMS). With the polymerization mechanism originally proposed for this system, kp = 1.35 × 104 L mol?1 s?1 was extracted from experimental data with the Predici polyreaction package. The alternative mechanism yielded kp = 1.01 × 107 L mol?1 s?1, close to that predicted by Mayr's Linear Free Energy Relationship (LFER). We propose that true rate constants can only be obtained from direct competition experiments or from kinetic interpretation based on independently proven mechanisms. The second part of this review discusses critical analysis of the temperature and concentration dependence of various living IB systems. Comparison of the temperature dependence in systems initiated with 2‐ chloro‐2,4, 4‐ trimethylpentane (TMPCl)/TiCl4 from various laboratories yielded of ΔH ~?25 and ?34.5 kJ/mol for high and low TMPCl/TiCl4 ratios, respectively. Aromatic (cumyl‐type) initiators show ΔH ~ ?40 kJ/mol, whereas H2O/TiCl4 in the presence of the strong electron‐ pair donor dimethylacetamide gave ΔH = ?12 kJ/mol. Herpes virus entry mediator (HVEM) is a newly discovered member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily that has a role in herpes simplex virus entry, in T cell activation and in tumor immunity. We generated mAb against HVEM and detected soluble HVEM (SHVEM) in the sera of patients with various autoimmune diseases. HVEM was constitutively expressed on CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells, CD19(+) B cells, CD14(+) monocytes, neutrophils and dendritic cells. In three-way MLR, mAb 122 and 139 were agonists and mAb 108 had blocking activity. An ELISA was developed to detect sHVEM in patient sera. sHVEM levels were elevated in sera of patients with allergic asthma, atopic dermatitis and rheumatoid arthritis. The mAbs discussed here may be useful for studies of the role of HVEM in immune responses. Detection of soluble HVEM might have diagnostic and prognostic value in certain immunological disorders. 相似文献

The structures of six new tetrazines have been determined and their molecular packing has been compared to the supermolecular architecture observed in related carboxylic acid dimers. In the tetrazines, covalent N? N bonds are considered to replace the intermolecular O? H???O hydrogen bonds of the carboxylic acids. In the systems investigated, it is apparent that, in the majority of cases, the covalent six‐membered ring of the tetrazine is an appropriate replacement for the carboxylic acid synthon. The separation and detection of commonly used preservatives (benzoate, sorbate) and vitamin C by both conventional CE and microchip electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection is presented. The separation was optimized by adjusting the pH-value of the buffer and the use of hydroxypropyl-beta-CD (HP-beta-CD) and CTAB as additives. For conventional CE, optimal separation conditions were achieved in a histidine/tartrate buffer at pH 6.5, containing 0.025% HP-beta-CD and 0.1 mM CTAB. LOD ranged from 0.5 to 3 mg/L (S/N = 3) and the RSDs for migration time and peak area were less than 0.1 and 2%, respectively. A considerable reduction of analysis time can be accomplished by using microchip electrophoresis without significant loss in sensitivity under optimal separation conditions. A histidine/tartrate buffer at pH 6.5, incorporating 0.06% HP-beta-CD and 0.25 mM CTAB, gave detection limits ranging between 3 and 10 mg/L and satisfactory reproducibilities of < or =0.4% for the migration time and < or =3.5% for the peak area. The methods developed are useful for the quantitative determination of food additives in real samples such as soft drinks and vitamin C tablets. 相似文献
