A novel series of cationic Gemini amphiphiles containing Dischiff base species were synthesized and their chemical structures were determined using different analytical tools. Their surface properties were determined using surface tension measurements. The adsorption and micellization thermodynamic parameters were calculated using Gibb's equations at 25°C. The surface parameters were also determined including critical micelle concentration, effectiveness, efficiency, maximum surface excess, minimum surface area, interfacial tension, and emulsification power. The synthesized cationic Gemini surfactants were evaluated as bactericides for gram negative and gram positive bacteria and also against sulfur reducing bacteria (SRB). The results of the cytotoxicity of the synthesized compounds against the targeted bacterial strains were promising and completely dependent on the surface activity of these compounds. 相似文献

Comparative study between gas phase and liquid phase for the production of DMC from methanol and CO2
Direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from methanol and carbon dioxide over Co1.5PW12O40 in liquid and in gas phase is investigated. The synthesized catalyst has been characterized by means of FTIR and XRD. Liquid phase experiment results showed that high pressures are favorable for the synthesis of DMC. However, DMC formation is limited by the reaction with co-produced water. DMC selectivity is more strongly dependent on the temperature than on the pressure of CO2. As for the reactions in gas phase, it has been found that both CH3OH conversion and DMC selectivity decreased with increasing temperature, owing to the decomposition of DMC at high temperatures. High temperatures and more amount of Co1.5PW12O40 catalyst favor the formation of dimethoxymethane (DMM) and methyl formate (MF). 相似文献

Transition metal sulfates of Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cr(III), Mn(II), and Fe(III) supported on ZnO were prepared and characterized
by SEM, EDX, and XRD. The kinetics of the heterogeneous decomposition of H2O2 over these supported catalysts was investigated. The reaction rate is correlated with both the amount of supported metal
ion and its redox potential. The rate of reaction increases with increasing initial concentration of H2O2, attains a maximum, and decreases thereafter. It also increases with pH and reaches a maximum at high pH values. A reaction mechanism is proposed that implies the formation of a peroxo intermediate at the early stages of the reaction.

The strategy of structurally integrating noble metal and metal oxides is expected to offer exceptional opportunities toward emerging functions of all. We report the creation of an efficient hetero-structured nanocatalyst consisting of Mn3O4 core, SiO2 shell impregnated with noble Ag nanoparticles. The triple nanocatalyst Mn3O4/Ag/SiO2 was synthesized by using a facile three-step approach to disperse Ag nanoparticles between the surfaces of functionalized Mn3O4 and SiO2. The physicochemical structural characterization was performed by XRD and FTIR. The surface morphologies were observed by SEM and TEM. The EDX measurements confirmed the composition of the composite. The nanocomposite has been used as a catalyst for the degradation of Direct blue 78 in the presence of sodium borohydride (NaBH4). It has a drastic catalytic effect as compared to Mn3O4/Ag and Mn3O4. The rate constant of Direct blue 78 reduction followed the order: Mn3O4/Ag/SiO2 (0.25166 min−1) > Mn3O4/Ag (0.07971 min−1) > Mn3O4 (0.00947 min−1). The effects of different reaction conditions of the catalytic reaction have been determined. The catalytic activity of the as- synthesized nanocomposite was examined for the binary dyes system by incorporation of an additional dye (Sunset yellow). Its influence on the degradation rate and efficiency of Direct blue 78 was investigated. The nanocatalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity towards the complete degradation of both the Direct blue 78 and Sunset yellow. The degradation percentage for these dyes reached 99.33 and 94.68%, respectively. The recovery and reusability of the Mn3O4/Ag/SiO2 nanocomposite was studied in the reduction reaction of Direct blue 78. Five consecutive recovery reaction cycles were performed. They revealed high stability and constant efficiency of the catalyst for four cycles. 相似文献

Epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCG) and resveratrol (RSVL) are two of the most promising natural medicines. We verified their capacity to ameliorate cisplatin (CP)-induced disruption of renal glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in rats, and sought the mediatory involvement of lipid peroxidation (malondialdehyde [MDA]-level) and inflammatory cytokine (TNF-α) therein. CP (10 mg kg?1), a single i.p. dose, disrupted GFR (11-fold-rise in proteinuria, 2-5-fold rise in serum creatinine/urea levels) after 7 days, and killed all animals after 10 days. Kidney-homogenates from CP-treated rats displayed higher MDA and TNF-α, but lower reduced-glutathione (GSH) levels. Rats treated with EGCG (50 mg kg?1, but not 25 mg kg?1) had no fatalities and showed significantly-recovered GFR; while their kidney-homogenates had markedly reduced MDA, TNF-α and enhanced GSH levels at 7 days. Conversely, RSVL or quercetin (25, 50 mg kg?1) neither improved GFR nor reduced (MDA)/TNF-α levels after 7 days. Resuming treatment with 50 mg kg?1 for 10 days rescued only 25% of animals (p > 0.05). Correlation studies showed a significant association between creatinine level, and each of MDA (r = 0.91), GSH (r = -0.87), and TNF-α (0.91). The study showed for the first time that EGCG, unlike RSVL, can protect against CP-induced nephrotoxicity. At the molecular level, CP triggers a high level of oxidative stress and systemic inflammation, events that were all abrogated with EGCG; better than RSVL or quercetin. 相似文献

A new alternating copolymer of dithienosilole and thienopyrrole-4,6-dione (PDTSTPD) possesses both a low optical bandgap (1.73 eV) and a deep highest occupied molecular orbital energy level (5.57 eV). The introduction of branched alkyl chains to the dithienosilole unit was found to be critical for the improvement of the polymer solubility. Four new nickel(II) complexes, [{Ni(L)}2], [NiL · HPyr], [NiL · HIm] and [Ni(HL)2] · H2O, derived from diacetylmonoxime-S-benzyldithiocarbazonate (H2L) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, field desorption and electrospray ionization mass spectra, UV–Vis, infrared absorption spectra, as well as 1H NMR spectra. X-ray molecular structures showed that the Ni(II) in both [NiL · HPyr] and [NiL · HIm] are in a distorted square planar environment and is coordinated to the dianionic NNS tridentate hydrazoneoxime ligand via deprotonated oximate nitrogen, hydrazone imine nitrogen, and thiolate sulphur. The fourth coordination sites are occupied, respectively, by the pyrazole and imidazole nitrogens. The oximate O1 of [NiL · HPyr] is involved in intramolecular hydrogen bond with the pyrazole NH proton as well as intermolecular hydrogen bond pyrazole C6H proton, forming a helical chain propagating along the b-axis. The structure is stabilized by a set of π?π and CH?π interactions. The molecular units in [NiL · HIm] are linked together by hydrogen bond formation between the oximate oxygen and imidazole NH proton, giving rise to an infinite zigzag chain extended along the a-axis. The chains are interconnected by π?π and CH?O interactions. In [Ni(HL)2] · H2O, the Ni(II) is in a distorted octahedral environment. The two mononegative hydrazoneoxime ligands are coordinated in the meridional configuration where the two thiol sulphur atoms and the two oxime nitrogen atoms are cis to each other, while the imine nitrogen atoms are trans. The oxime proton O2H is involved in a reciprocal bifurcated hydrogen bond formation with both N2 and S3 of the adjacent molecule giving rise to hydrogen bonded dimer. This dimeric structure is further stabilized by a pair of reciprocal CH?O interactions. A one dimensional chain of alternating dimeric unit and water molecule propagating along the c-axis is formed via hydrogen bond formation between the oxime O1 oxygen and the bridged water molecule proton. 相似文献
