Dendritic microenvironments defined by dynamic internal cavities of a dendrimer were probed through geometric isomerization of stilbene and azobenzene. A third-generation poly(alkyl aryl ether) dendrimer with hydrophilic exterior and hydrophobic interior was used as a reaction cavity in aqueous medium. The dynamic inner cavity sizes were varied by utilizing alkyl linkers that connect the branch junctures from ethyl to n-pentyl moiety (C(2)G3-C(5)G3). Dendrimers constituted with n-pentyl linker were found to afford higher solubilities of stilbene and azobenzene. Direct irradiation of trans-stilbene showed that C(5)G3 and C(4)G3 dendrimers afforded considerable phenanthrene formation, in addition to cis-stilbene, whereas C(3)G3 and C(2)G3 gave only cis-stilbene. An electron-transfer sensitized trans-cis isomerization, using cresyl violet perchlorate as the sensitizer, also led to similar results. Thermal isomerization of cis-azobenzene to trans-azobenzene within dendritic microenvironments revealed that the activation energy of the cis- to trans-isomer was increasing in the series C(5)G3 < C(4)G3 相似文献

A new 1,1'-thiobis(2-naphthoxy)-based receptor molecule (L) containing a benzimidazole moiety has been synthesized and characterized by (1)H NMR, ESI-MS, and elemental analysis. The selectivity of L has been explored in aqueous methanol, resulting in selective (7.5 ± 0.5)-fold switch-on fluorescence response toward Ag(+) among 14 different transition, alkali, and alkaline earth metal ions studied. The complexation of Ag(+) by L has been addressed by ESI-MS, (1)H NMR, and UV-vis spectra. Microstructural features of L and its Ag(+) complex have been measured by AFM and TEM. The morphological features of L alone and L in the presence of Ag(+) differ dramatically both in shape and size, and the ion induces the formation of chains owing to its coordinating ability toward benzimidazole. Further, the in situ [Ag(+)-L] complex was titrated against 20 naturally occurring amino acids and found that this complex acts as a secondary recognition ensemble toward Cys, Asp, and Glu by switch-off fluorescence.  相似文献

We present the elegant synthesis and the photophysical and electroluminescent properties of a series of cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes [Ir(PPI)2(pic), PPI: 1,2‐diphenyl‐1H‐phenanthro[9,10‐d]imidazole; pic: picolinic acid]. The Ir(PPI)2(pic) complexes showed characteristic phosphorescence with an emission range of 556–579 nm and a high quantum efficiency with microsecond lifetimes. The strongly allowed phosphorescence in these complexes is the result of significant spin–orbit coupling of the Ir center. All bis(PPI) derivatives exhibit intense triplet metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer (MLCT) photoluminescence in the fluid solutions at room temperature. The impact of different solvents, substituents on the phenanthroimidazole ligands and complex concentrations upon their emissive behavior have been examined and demonstrate that their emission energies can be systematically modified. Weak bands located at longer wavelength have been assigned to the 1MLCT ← S0 and 3MLCT ← S0 transitions of iridium complexes. A single longitudinal mode micro-electro-mechanical system-tunable vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) was used to measure H $_{2}$ O and HF absorption spectra in the 1,321–1,354?nm range at 55?kHz repetition rate ( $\sim $ 740?MHz/ns tuning rate). Pulse delay referencing was used to achieve an absorbance noise level of 0.004 (RMS), within a factor of 2.6 of the shot noise limit. The measured linewidths approach the low-pressure feature linewidths ( $\sim$ 790?MHz) characteristic of the gases studied, highlighting the single-mode nature of the VCSEL throughout each rapid wavelength sweep. At even higher tuning rates, molecular features became asymmetric and broad, consistent with rapid passage and Fourier effects.  相似文献

In this work, a novel microextraction method termed polymer-coated hollow fiber microextraction (PC-HFME) was developed in combination with capillary electrophoresis (CE). Polar dihydroxylated polymethylmethacrylate polymer was coated onto a porous propylene hollow fiber membrane and used as an adsorbent and that was placed in a stirred aqueous sample solution. Tumbling of the extraction device within the sample solution facilitated extraction. The amino alcohols (2-amino-1-phenylethanol, norephedrine, alprenolol and atenolol which are beta-blocker drugs), were used as model compounds to investigate the extraction performance. No organic solvent was used in this procedure. The extract was then further concentrated through on-column stacking (normal stacking mode) during CE analysis. The detection limits ranged from 0.9 to 7 ng ml(-1). Relative standard deviations (n=6) ranged from 4 to 6%. The extraction of the amino alcohols in spiked wastewater effluent (representing a complex matrix) was evaluated using the developed procedure.  相似文献

Electrical and gas sensing properties of Ag6Mo10O33 are investigated for the first time. Wagner’s polarization experiment carried out on this material shows that it is a good silver ion conductor in the temperature range of 533 to 657 K. Studies show that it possesses good selectivity and sensitivity towards ammonia with fast response and retrac times indicating its potential as a sensor material for this gas below its TLV value. Morphological changes associated with this compound when exposed to ammonia are studied by using SEM and the corresponding compositional changes associated with each grain is studied by using EDAX. The results indicate that the compound breaks down when exposed to ammonia. When equilibrated with air the reaction products recombine fast to form the original compound. The present study deals with the characterization of halotolerant protease produced by Bacillus aquimaris VITP4 strain isolated from Kumta coast, Karnataka, India. The studies were performed at 40 °C and pH 8 in Tris buffer. Metal ions such as Mn2+ and Ca2+ increased the proteolytic activity of the enzyme by 34 and 30 %, respectively, at 10 mM concentration. Cu2+ at 1 mM concentration was found to enhance the enzyme activity by 16 %, whereas inhibition was observed at higher concentration (>5 mM). Slight inhibition was observed even with lower (>1 mM) concentrations of Zn2+, Hg2+, Fe3+, Ni2+, and Co2+.The activity of protease was completely inhibited by phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride, indicating that the VITP4 protease is a serine protease. The presence of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline (>5 mM) moderately inhibited the activity, suggesting that the enzyme is activated by metal ions. The protease was purified to homogeneity with a purification fold of 15.7 with ammonium sulfate precipitation and 46.65 with gel filtration chromatography using Sephadex G-100, resulting in a specific activity of 424?±?2.6 U mg?1. The VITP4 protease consists of a single polypeptide chain with a molecular mass of 34.7 kDa as determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization–time of flight. Among the different substrates used (casein, egg albumin, gelatin, and bovine serum albumin), the activity was higher with casein with V max, K m, and k cat values of 0.817 mg ml min?1, 0.472 mg ml?1, and 2.31 s?1, respectively. Circular dichroism studies revealed that the VITP4 protease has a predominantly β-sheet structure (51.6 %) with a temperature for half denaturation of 85.8 °C in the presence of 1 mM CaCl2. Additionally, the VITP4 protease was found to retain more than 70 % activity in the presence of 10 mM concentration of different detergents (CTAB, urea, and sodium dodecyl sulfate) and surfactants (Triton X-100, Tween-20, and Tween-80), and the results of wash performance test with various commercial detergents confirmed that it can be used in detergent formulations.  相似文献

A facile synthesis of aryl esters is developed by coupling aryl carboxylic acids and aryl boronic acids in the presence of PhI(OAc)2 and carbonyl diimidazole. A wide range of functional groups were tolerant to the metal-free reaction condition that led to the desired products in good yields.  相似文献
