Solutions of potassium chromate, ammonium oxalate and ferrocyanide are used as titrants for the high frequency titration of metal ions. Lead and barium, up to 20 mg, and thallium, up to 50 mg, are estimated with chromate und yield good results. Similarly, ammonium oxalate behaves satisfactorily when the concentration of calcium is not more than 10 mg and that of cerium is between 10 and 40 mg. Copper and silver can be titrated by ferrocyanide only up to a concentration of 10 and 20 mg, respectively. In all cases, the pH of the solution should preferably be between 6.0 and 6.5, though it can be extended in some cases to as low as 5.0.  相似文献

The Brooks-Yu theory is applied to the calculation of the temperature dependence of the energy band gaps in some II–VI compounds. The theory is applied in the framework of the empirical pseudo-potential method, and utilizes a recent lattice dynamical calculation of the Debye-Waller factors. The temperature dependence of several critical-point band gaps are determined and compared with a vailable experimental data. In general, reasonable agreement is obtained. The interesting case of HgTe, which exhibits an anomalous positive temperature coefficient of the fundamental band gap, is also discussed.  相似文献

Haloacetic acids are an important class of disinfection byproducts that are being regulated. In this paper we report novel instrumentation for continuous monitoring of the nine haloacetic acids. Hollow fiber liquid-liquid membrane extraction (LLME) and supported liquid membrane extraction (SLME) followed by on-line HPLC-UV detection were studied. With continuous LLME, seven halo-acetic acids could be analyzed and enrichment factor (EF) was around 50. All the nine acids could be extracted and quantified by continuous SLME. Experiments with laboratory standards demonstrated that EF and extraction efficiency could be as high as 500 and 54%, respectively. Relative standard deviations based on seven replicates were between 3.3 and 10.3%, and the MDLs were at sub-ppb levels.  相似文献

CdS is a large band gap material compared to HgS. Both are interesting from academic and technological points of view. The nanodispersions (colloids) of CdS and HgS as well their core-shell products and composites (co-colloids) were prepared by varied modes of precursor addition in micellar solution of cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The prepared dispersions were studied by spectroscopic and electron microscopic techniques.This revised version was published online in August 2005 with a corrected issue number.  相似文献

We construct a non-local gauge-invariant Lagrangian to model the electromagnetic interaction of the proton. The Lagrangian includes all allowed operators with dimension up to five. We compute the two-photon exchange contribution to elastic electron–proton scattering using this effective non-local Lagrangian. The one-loop calculation in this model includes the standard box and cross box diagram with the standard on-shell form of the hadron electromagnetic vertices. Besides this we find an extra contribution, which depends on an unknown constant. We use experimentally extracted form factors for our calculation. We find that the correction to the reduced cross section is slightly non-linear as a function of the photon longitudinal polarization ε. The non-linearity seen is within the experimental error bars of the Rosenbluth data. The final result completely explains the difference between the form factor ratio GE/GM extracted by Rosenbluth separation technique at SLAC and polarization transfer technique at JLAB.  相似文献

Evidence for the formation of unstable sulfenic acids (RSOH) as reaction intermediates is commonly provided by trapping these compounds with methyl propiolate. The crystal structure of a vinyl sulfoxide derived from the trapping of a sulfenic acid with methyl propiolate is reported here. The title compound C12H12O5S crystallized in the triclinic space group,P1¯ with unit cell parameters: a = 6.1600(4), b = 9.7286(7), c = 11.3698(8) Å, = 112.024(1), = 94.662(1), = 95.429(1)°, and Z = 2.  相似文献

Radish plant was collected along with root and soil from the nearby area of a Municipal Solid Waste dumping site of the metropolitan city of Kolkata, West Bengal, India and analyzed for a wide range of elements using the EDXRF technique with a 109Cd point source and a Si(Li) detector. The samples comprized of the root-soil, root and leaves. For quality control purposes, NIST standard reference material (SRM) 1648 Urban Particulate Matter had also been analyzed using the same procedure as for the samples. Concentrations of elements with X-ray energies in the range of 3–20 keV in the soil around the root and their uptake pattern by the root and the leaves have been estimated.  相似文献
