Direct transport powered by motor proteins can alleviate the challenges presented by miniaturization of microfluidic systems. There have been several recent attempts to build motor‐protein‐driven transport systems based on simple capturing or transport mechanisms. However, to achieve a multifunctional device for practical applications, a more complex sorting/transport system should be realized. Herein, the proof of concept of a sorting device employing selective capture of distinct target molecules and transport of the sorted molecules to different predefined directions is presented. By combining the bottom‐up functionality of biological systems with the top‐down handling capabilities of micro‐electromechanical systems technology, highly selective molecular recognition and motor‐protein‐based transport is integrated in a microfluidic channel network.  相似文献

Structures of nickel cluster ions adsorbed with methanol, Ni3+ (CH3OH)m (m = 1-3) and Ni4+ (CH3OH)m (m = 1-4) were investigated by using infrared photodissociation (IR-PD) spectroscopy based on a tandem-type mass spectrometer, where they were produced by passing Ni3,4+ through methanol vapor under a multiple collision condition. The IR-PD spectra were measured in the wavenumber region between 3100 and 3900 cm-1. In each IR-PD spectrum, a single peak was observed at a wavenumber lower by approximately 40 cm-1 than that of the OH stretching vibration of a free methanol molecule and was assigned to the OH stretching vibrations of the methanol molecules in Ni3,4+ (CH3OH)m. The photodissociation was analyzed by assuming that Ni3,4+ (CH3OH)m dissociate unimolecularly after the photon energy absorbed by them is statistically distributed among the accessible modes of Ni3,4+ (CH3OH)m. In comparison with the calculations performed by the density functional theory, it is concluded that (1) the oxygen atom of each methanol molecule is bound to one of the nickel atoms in Ni3,4+ (defined as molecular chemisorption), (2) the methanol molecules in Ni3,4+ (CH3OH)m do not form any hydrogen bonds, and (3) the cross section for demethanation [CH4 detachment from Nin+ (CH3OH)] is related to the electron density distribution inside the methanol molecule.  相似文献

Plant‐dwelling mites are potentially exposed to solar ultraviolet‐B (UVB) radiation that causes deleterious and often lethal effects, leading most mites to inhabit the lower (underside) leaf surfaces. However, in species of spider mite belonging to the Genus Panonychus, a substantial portion of individuals occur on upper leaf surfaces. We investigated whether the upper leaf surfaces of citrus trees are favorable for P. citri, and to what extent they are tolerant to UVB radiation. If eggs are not adequately protected from UVB damage, females may avoid ovipositing on the upper surfaces of sunny leaves. To test this, we conducted laboratory experiments using a UVB lamp, and semioutdoor manipulative experiments. As a result, P. citri eggs are tolerant to UVB. Field studies revealed that the ratio of eggs and adult females on upper leaf surfaces were larger for shaded than for sunny leaves. However, 64–89% of eggs hatched successfully even on sunny upper leaf surfaces. Nutritional evaluation revealed that whether on sunny or shaded leaves, in fecundity and juvenile development P. citri reaped the fitness benefits of upper leaf surfaces. Consequently, P. citri is tolerant to UVB damage, and inhabiting the upper surfaces of shaded leaves is advantageous to this mite.  相似文献

We investigated the CO2 adsorption and electrochemical conversion behavior of triazole-based C3N5 nanorods as a single matrix for consecutive CO2 capture and conversion. The pore size, basicity, and binding energy were tailored to identify critical factors for consecutive CO2 capture and conversion over carbon nitrides. Temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) analysis of CO2 demonstrates that triazole-based C3N5 shows higher basicity and stronger CO2 binding energy than g-C3N4. Triazole-based C3N5 nanorods with 6.1 nm mesopore channels exhibit better CO2 adsorption than nanorods with 3.5 and 5.4 nm mesopore channels. C3N5 nanorods with wider mesopore channels are effective in increasing the current density as an electrocatalyst during the CO2 reduction reaction. Triazole-based C3N5 nanorods with tailored pore sizes exhibit CO2 adsorption abilities of 5.6–9.1 mmol/g at 0 °C and 30 bar. Their Faraday efficiencies for reducing CO2 to CO are 14–38% at a potential of −0.8 V vs. RHE.  相似文献

The surface structure of Si(1 1 1)-6 × 1-Ag was investigated using surface X-ray diffraction techniques. By analyzing the CTR scattering intensities along 00 rod, the positions of the Ag and reconstructed Si atoms perpendicular to the surface were determined. The results agreed well with the HCC model proposed for a 3 × 1 structure induced by alkali-metals on a Si(1 1 1) substrate. The heights of the surface Ag and Si atoms did not move when the surface structure changed from Si(1 1 1)-√3 × √3-Ag to Si(1 1 1)-6 × 1-Ag by the desorption of the Ag atoms. From the GIXD measurement, the in-plane arrangement of the surface Ag atoms was determined. The results indicate that the Ag atoms move large distances at the phase transition between the 6 × 1 and 3 × 1 structures.  相似文献

The Dirac cone on a surface of a topological insulator shows linear dispersion analogous to optics and its velocity depends on materials. We consider a junction of two topological insulators with different velocities, and calculate the reflectance and transmittance. We find that they reflect the backscattering-free nature of the helical surface states. When the two velocities have opposite signs, both transmission and reflection are prohibited for normal incidence, when a mirror symmetry normal to the junction is preserved. In this case we show that there necessarily exist gapless states at the interface between the two topological insulators. Their existence is protected by mirror symmetry, and they have characteristic dispersions depending on the symmetry of the system.  相似文献

Image quality of MeV transmission electrons is an important factor for both observation and electron tomography of microns-thick specimens with the high voltage electron microscope (HVEM) and the ultra-HVEM. In this work, we have investigated image quality of a tilted thick specimen by experiment and analysis. In a 3 MV ultra-HVEM, we obtained transmission electron images in amplitude contrast of 100 nm gold particles on the top surface of a tilted 5 μm thick amorphous epoxy-resin film. From line profiles of the images, we then measured and evaluated image blurring, contrast, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) under different effective thicknesses of the tilted specimen and accelerating voltages of electrons. The variation of imaging blurring was consistent with the analysis based on multiple elastic scattering. When the effective thickness almost tripled, image blurring increased from ~3 to ~20 nm at the accelerating voltage of 3 MV. For the increase of accelerating voltage from 1 to 3 MV in the condition of the 14.6 μm effective thickness, due to the reduction of multiple scattering effects, image blurring decreased from ~54 to ~20 nm, and image contrast and SNR were both obviously enhanced by a factor of ~3 to preferable values. The specimen thickness was shown to influence image quality more than the accelerating voltage. Moreover, improvement on image quality of thick specimens due to increasing the accelerating voltage would become less when it was further increased from 2 to 3 MV in this work.  相似文献
