The automated use of a matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometer (MS) is described for image analysis
of samples through implementation of new software for instrument control, data acquisition, and data analysis. The software
permits automated acquisition of MS MALDI spectra to form an ordered data array and contains display features to provide images
at one or more mass-to-charge ratio values. The technique can be used to scan tissue samples, blotted samples, gels, or other
sample surfaces where the image analysis of that sample is required. The program achieves a time of typically 1 s per image
point, permitting an analysis made up of large numbers of points with high spatial resolution up to 850 dpi. The features
of the software are demonstrated in this paper with samples of printed images, where visible images can be compared to those
obtained by mass spectrometry. Quantitative aspects are introduced by analyzing a series of sample spots containing different

N,N-dimethyl-N′-picryl-4,4′-stilbenediamine (DMPSDA) was prepared, purified and crystallised in a form of black lustrous crystals, and its absorption and fluorescence spectra were recorded in cyclohexane, acetonitrile and dimethyl sulfoxide. Non-emissive intramolecular charge transfer state (ICT) was clearly observed in this molecule in all three solvents. Theoretical calculations demonstrating a betaine electronic structure of the trinitrophenyl group in the ground state of the molecule and a charge transfer nature of the long wavelength transition S0?→?S1 supported the experimental observations of the ICT formation in the molecule. 相似文献

We present a scheme for linear optical quantum computation that is highly robust to imperfect single photon sources and inefficient detectors. In particular we show that if the product of the detector efficiency with the source efficiency is greater than 2/3, then efficient linear optical quantum computation is possible. A frequency-selective REDOR experiment is described for SI2 spin systems. The experiment causes the net dipolar dephasing of the S spin to evolve only under the influence of one of the I spins. The experiment is based on a single pair of appropriately phased 90° I-spin pulses, and the I spin causing the S-spin dipolar dephasing is determined by the relative phases between the two 90° pulses. First measurements of the current-density profile in the core of a high-temperature reversed-field pinch are presented. The current-density profile is observed to peak during the sawtooth cycle and broaden promptly at the crash. This change in profile can be linked to magnetic relaxation and the dynamo which is predicted to drive antiparallel current in the plasma core. Plasma zonal-flow excitation and saturation in fluid electron-drift-wave turbulence are studied spectrally. The zonal flow is a spectral condensation onto the zero-frequency linear-wave structure. In the representation diagonalizing the wave coupling that dominates interactions at long wavelengths, nonlinear triad interactions involving zero-frequency waves are greatly enhanced. Zonal modes are excited on both unstable and purely stable eigenmode branches. Coupling to the latter introduces robust, finite amplitude-induced damping of zonal flows, providing saturation. 相似文献
