The formation of diatomic molecules with rotational and vibrational coherence is demonstrated experimentally in free-to-bound two-photon femtosecond photoassociation of hot atoms. In a thermal gas at a temperature of 1000 K, pairs of magnesium atoms, colliding in their electronic ground state, are excited into coherent superpositions of bound rovibrational levels in an electronically excited state. The rovibrational coherence is probed by a time-delayed third photon, resulting in quantum beats in the UV fluorescence. A comprehensive theoretical model based on ab initio calculations rationalizes the generation of coherence by Franck-Condon filtering of collision energies and partial waves, quantifying it in terms of an increase in quantum purity of the thermal ensemble. The crystal structure of the title compound, [MnCl(C28H22N2O2)(C2H6O)], has been determined at 173 (2) K in the non‐centrosymmetric space group P212121. The asymmetric unit contains two molecular units. An intermolecular O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bond is formed between the OH group of an ethanol molecule coordinated to the Mn atom and the coordinated Cl− anion, and so polymeric chains of Mn‐containing fragments are formed [O—H⋯Cl = 3.1281 (16) and 3.1282 (15) Å]. The Mn atoms have a pseudo‐octahedral coordination sphere, with the four donor atoms of the Schiff base forming an equatorial plane [Mn—O distances are 1.8740 (13), 1.8717 (13), 1.8749 (13) and 1.8823 (13) Å, and Mn—N distances are 1.9868 (15), 1.9910 (14), 1.9828 (15) and 1.9979 (14) Å]. The axial positions are occupied by an ethanol molecule [Mn—O distances of 2.3069 (15) and 2.3130 (15) Å] and a Cl− ligand [Mn—Cl distances of 2.5732 (6) and 2.5509 (6) Å]. 相似文献

Mechanism of substrate oxidations with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a highly reactive, biomimetic, iron aminopyridine complex, [FeII(bpmen)(CH3CN)2][ClO4]2 ( 1 ; bpmen=N,N'‐dimethyl‐N,N'‐bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)ethane‐1,2‐diamine), is elucidated. Complex 1 has been shown to be an excellent catalyst for epoxidation and functional‐group‐directed aromatic hydroxylation using H2O2, although its mechanism of action remains largely unknown. 1 , 2 Efficient intermolecular hydroxylation of unfunctionalized benzene and substituted benzenes with H2O2 in the presence of 1 is found in the present work. Detailed mechanistic studies of the formation of iron(III)–phenolate products are reported. We have identified, generated in high yield, and experimentally characterized the key FeIII(OOH) intermediate (λmax=560 nm, rhombic EPR signal with g=2.21, 2.14, 1.96) formed by 1 and H2O2. Stopped‐flow kinetic studies showed that FeIII(OOH) does not directly hydroxylate the aromatic rings, but undergoes rate‐limiting self‐decomposition producing transient reactive oxidant. The formation of the reactive species is facilitated by acid‐assisted cleavage of the O? O bond in the iron–hydroperoxide intermediate. Acid‐assisted benzene hydroxylation with 1 and a mechanistic probe, 2‐Methyl‐1‐phenyl‐2‐propyl hydroperoxide (MPPH), correlates with O? O bond heterolysis. Independently generated FeIV?O species, which may originate from O? O bond homolysis in FeIII(OOH), proved to be inactive toward aromatic substrates. The reactive oxidant derived from 1 exchanges its oxygen atom with water and electrophilically attacks the aromatic ring (giving rise to an inverse H/D kinetic isotope effect of 0.8). These results have revealed a detailed experimental mechanistic picture of the oxidation reactions catalyzed by 1 , based on direct characterization of the intermediates and products, and kinetic analysis of the individual reaction steps. Our detailed understanding of the mechanism of this reaction revealed both similarities and differences between synthetic and enzymatic aromatic hydroxylation reactions. 相似文献

The results of thermal conductivity study of epoxy–matrix composites filled with different type of powders are reported. Boron nitride and aluminum nitride micro‐powders with different size distribution and surface modification were used. A representative set of samples has been prepared with different contents of the fillers. The microstructure was investigated by SEM observations. Thermal conductivity measurements have been performed at room temperature and for selected samples it was also measured as a function of temperature from 300 K down to liquid helium temperatures. The most spectacular enhancement of the thermal conductivity was obtained for composites filled with hybrid fillers of boron nitride–silica and aluminum nitride–silica. In the case of sample with 31 vol.% of boron nitride–silica hybrid filler it amounts to 114% and for the sample with 45 vol.% of hybrid filler by 65% as compared with the reference composite with silica filler. However, in the case of small aluminum nitride grains application, large interfacial areas were introduced, promoting creation of thermal resistance barriers and causing phonon scattering more effective. As a result, no thermal conductivity improvement was obtained. Different characters of temperature dependencies are observed for hybrid filler composites which allowed identifying the component filler of the dominant contribution to the thermal conductivity in each case. The data show a good agreement with predictions of Agari‐Uno model, indicating the importance of conductive paths forming effect already at low filler contents.
