Amides have been successfully used as precursors of imidoyl radicals for radical cyclisation. The amides have been converted to imidoyl selanides via reaction with phosgene to yield imidoyl chlorides followed by reaction with potassium phenylselanide. Imidoyl selanides were reacted with tributyltin hydride (Bu3SnH) as the radical mediator with triethylborane or AIBN as initiators to yield imidoyl radicals for cyclisation reactions. Imidoyl radicals have been cyclised onto alkenes to yield 2,3-substituted-indoles and -quinolines and also onto pyrroles and indoles to give bi- and tricyclic heteroarenes. 相似文献

The ionothermal synthesis, structure, and magnetic susceptibility of a novel inorganic–organic hybrid material, imidazolium vanadium(III,IV) oxyfluoride [C3H5N2][V9O6F24(H2O)2] (ImVOF) are presented. The structure consists of inorganic vanadium oxyfluoride slabs with kagome layers of V4+ S=${{ 1/2 }}$ ions separated by a mixed valence layer. These inorganic slabs are intercalated with imidazolium cations. Quinuclidinium (Q) and pyrazinium (Pyz) cations can also be incorporated into the hybrid structure type to give QVOF and PyzVOF analogues, respectively. The highly frustrated topology of the inorganic slabs, along with the quantum nature of the magnetism associated with V4+, means that these materials are excellent candidates to host exotic magnetic ground states, such as the highly sought quantum spin liquid. Magnetic susceptibility measurements of all samples suggest an absence of conventional long‐range magnetic order down to 2 K despite considerable antiferromagnetic exchange. 相似文献

The methyl acrylate dimer (MAD) is a sterically hindered macromonomer, and the propagating radical can fragment to an unsaturated end group. The propagation‐rate coefficient (kp) for MAD was obtained by pulsed‐laser polymerization (PLP). The Mark–Houwink–Sakaruda parameters required for the analysis of the molecular weight distributions (MWDs) were obtained by multiple‐detector gel permeation chromatography (GPC) with on‐line viscometry. The small radical created by the fragmentation results in a short‐chain polymer that means the MWD may no longer be given by that expected for “ideal” PLP conditions; simulations suggest that the degree of polymerization required for “ideal” PLP conditions can be obtained from the primary point of inflection provided the GPC traces also show a clear secondary inflection point (radicals terminated by the second, rather than the first, pulse subsequent to initiation). Over the temperature range of 40–75 °C, the data can be best fitted by kp/dm3 mol?1 s?1 = 106.1 exp(?29.5 kJ mol?1), with a moderately large joint confidence interval for the Arrhenius parameters. The data are consistent with an increased activation energy and reduced frequency factor as compared with acrylate or methacrylate; both of these changes can be ascribed to hindrance. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. This study investigates a new method of simulating a complex chemical system including feedback loops and parallel reactions. The practical purpose of this approach is to model the actual reactions that take place in the Maillard process, a set of food browning reactions, in sufficient detail to be able to predict the volatile composition of the Maillard products. The developed framework, called iterated reaction graphs, consists of two main elements: a soup of molecules and a reaction base of Maillard reactions. An iterative process loops through the reaction base, taking reactants from and feeding products back to the soup. This produces a reaction graph, with molecules as nodes and reactions as arcs. The iterated reaction graph is updated and validated by comparing output with the main products found by classical gas-chromatographic/mass spectrometric analysis. To ensure a realistic output and convergence to desired volatiles only, the approach contains a number of novel elements: rate kinetics are treated as reaction probabilities; only a subset of the true chemistry is modeled; and the reactions are blocked into groups. 相似文献

Water molecules play a crucial role in mediating the interaction between a ligand and a macromolecular receptor. An understanding of the nature and role of each water molecule in the active site of a protein could greatly increase the efficiency of rational drug design approaches: if the propensity of a water molecule for displacement can be determined, then synthetic effort may be most profitably applied to the design of specific ligands with the displacement of this water molecule in mind. In this paper, a thermodynamic analysis of water molecules in the binding sites of six proteins, each complexed with a number of inhibitors, is presented. Two classes of water molecules were identified: those conserved and not displaced by any of the ligands, and those that are displaced by some ligands. The absolute binding free energies of 54 water molecules were calculated using the double decoupling method, with replica exchange thermodynamic integration in Monte Carlo simulations. It was found that conserved water molecules are on average more tightly bound than displaced water molecules. In addition, Bayesian statistics is used to calculate the probability that a particular water molecule may be displaced by an appropriately designed ligand, given the calculated binding free energy of the water molecule. This approach therefore allows the numerical assessment of whether or not a given water molecule should be targeted for displacement as part of a rational drug design strategy. 相似文献

Interfacial segregation of nanoparticles on droplets, such as water droplets in oil, is achieved by mixing or shaking organic solutions of the nanoparticles with water. This typically results in the formation of droplets with a large distribution of sizes, ranging from 10 microm to greater than 200 microm in diameter. Here we describe the application of track-etch membranes to control the size of these nanoparticle-coated droplets. Passing nanoparticle-coated droplets through the membranes substantially reduces their size by breaking up the droplets during the extrusion process and reforming droplets of comparable size to the membrane pore diameter. When the nanoparticles used in these sizing procedures are covered with functional ligands, stabilization of the post-extrusion diameter is achieved by polymerization/cross-linking of the ligand periphery. 相似文献

Abstract— The effectiveness of photodynamic therapy against P-glycoprotein ATPase activity in multidrug-resistant cells was studied. Chinese hamster ovary AUXB1 (drug-sensitive) and CR1R12 (multidrug-resistant) cell lines were compared with respect to uptake of 14 C-polyhematoporphyrin and porphyrin photosensitization. Phototoxicity of Photofrin® was similar in both cell lines, and no major differences in uptake or efflux of 14 C-polyhematoporphyrin were observed. Porphyrin photosensitization in vitro of CR1R12 cells or isolated plasma membranes from these cells caused inhibition of P-glycoprotein ATPase activity. Application of porphyrin photosensitization at a sublethal level to CR1R12 cells resulted in a small but significant increase in adriamycin-induced cytotoxicity. The hydrophobic "picket-fence" porphyrin, meso -tetrakis-( o -propionamidophenyl)porphyrin,α,α,α,β-isomer, was more inhibitory toward P-glycoprotein ATPase activity than the two less hydrophobic porphyrins tetraphenylporphine tetrasulfonate and Photofrin®. 相似文献

A two-stage linear time-of-flight mass spectrometer is used to investigate the requirements for performance of laser photodissociation of peptide and protein ions. Results are presented that demonstrate that desorption and dissociation laser pulses can be synchronized to irradiate ions that travel at high velocities down the drift tube of a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. For example, 193-nm photodissociation of bovine insulin and doubly charged lysozyme is demonstrated, and laser power studies suggest that dissociation is initiated by the absorption of a single 193-nm photon. These results are encouraging because they suggest that laser photodissociation of high molecular weight proteins can lead to fragmentation on time scales compatible with time-of-flight mass spectrometry. 相似文献

We describe a AuI complex of a hemi-labile (C^N) N-heterocyclic carbene ligand that is able to mediate oxidative addition of aryl iodides. Detailed computational and experimental investigations have been undertaken to verify and rationalize the oxidative addition process. Application of this initiation mode has resulted in the first examples of “exogenous oxidant-free” AuI/AuIII catalyzed 1,2-oxyarylations of ethylene and propylene. These demanding yet powerful processes establish these commodity chemicals as nucleophilic-electrophilic building blocks in catalytic reaction design. 相似文献
