Thermodynamic equations in Part I of this series were extended so as to be applicable to electrolyte mixtures and the resultant equations were applied to the experimental results of a NaCl-decyl methyl sulfoxide (DeMS) mixture. Film thickness and contact angle of the black foam film stabilized by DeMS were measured as a function of the total molality of NaCl and DeMS at constant mole fraction of DeMS in the mixture under constant disjoining pressure. Newton black film was observed only above a certain DeMS concentration and the phase transition between common black and Newton black films took place twice as NaCl concentration increased at constant DeMS concentration. The surface densities of NaCl and DeMS at the film surface and the differences in the surface densities between the adsorbed films at the film surface and bulk one coexisting at equilibrium were numerically evaluated by applying the thermodynamic equations to the film tension obtained from the contact angle. The film states and phase transitions were clarified in terms of the film thickness and surface densities.  相似文献

Summary: The research deals with the preparation and the further comprehensive characterization of metallocene polypropylene-based composite materials by incorporation of carbon black nanoparticles. Composites containing up to 10 wt% of carbon black were prepared by direct melt mixing in a single screw extruder Brabender Extrusiograph type 30/25D with attached static mixer at melt temperature of 200 °C and a screw speed of 30 rpm, according to a two-step process. Some composites were treated with 3 wt% maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MAH-PP). The rheological behaviour of the miPP nanocomposites was determined by cone/plate rheological measurements at 180 °C. The composites were characterized by SEM for morphological details and uniaxial stress-strain measurements for determining the mechanical parameters. Electric conductivity of injection molded plates from these composites was investigated. The different miPPs studied are ranked in an ascending order according to their increasing molecular weight concerning the magnitude of their rheological parameters. The maleic anhydride compatibilizer leads to lower viscosity values even at high shear gradients and to better homogenization of the nanofiller in the polymer matrix. The processing conditions, carbon black concentration and viscosity of the virgin polymer have an impact on the final conductivity of the miPP/carbon black composites.  相似文献

Combined laser ablation and pulse modulated radio-frequency (RF) discharge for deposition of CNalpha films was studied by the use of optical emission spectroscopy. Chemically active nitrogen was produced by RF discharge, concentrated between two small electrodes. Influence of RF power, nitrogen pressure, modulation frequency and pulse rate on nitrogen species production was researched. For the same system plasma expansion rate, kinetic energy and concentration of carbon ions emitted by laser from graphite target were determined by Langmuir probes measurement.  相似文献

The understanding of cellular processes and functions and the elucidation of their physiological mechanisms is an important aim in the life sciences. One important aspect is the uptake and the release of essential substances as well as their interactions with the cellular environment. As green fluorescent protein (GFP) can be genetically encoded in cells it can be used as an internal sensor giving a deeper insight into biochemical pathways. Here we report that the presence of copper(II) ions leads to a decrease of the fluorescence lifetime (τ fl) of GFP and provide evidence for Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) as the responsible quenching mechanism. We identify the His6-tag as the responsible binding site for Cu2?+? with a dissociation constant K d ?=?9 ±2 μM and a Förster radius R 0?=?2.1 ±0.1 nm. The extent of the lifetime quenching depends on [Cu2?+?] which is comprehended by a mathematical titration model. We envision that Cu2?+? can be quantified noninvasively and in real-time by measuring τ fl of GFP.  相似文献

For optical fibers exhibiting a radially symmetric refractive index profile, there exists an analytical relation that connects waveguide dispersion and the Petermann-II mode field radius. We extend the usefulness of this relation to the nonradially symmetric case of microstructure fibers in the anomalous dispersion regime, yielding a simple relation between dispersion and effective mode field area. Assuming a Gaussian mode distribution, we derive a fundamental upper limit for the effective mode field area that is required to obtain a certain amount of anomalous waveguide dispersion. This relation is demonstrated to show excellent agreement for fiber designs suited for supercontinuum generation and soliton lasers in the near infrared.  相似文献

This paper presents a new approach for exactly solving the Unbounded Knapsack Problem (UKP) and proposes a new bound that was proved to dominate the previous bounds on a special class of UKP instances. Integrating bounds within the framework of sparse dynamic programming led to the creation of an efficient and robust hybrid algorithm, called EDUK2. This algorithm takes advantage of the majority of the known properties of UKP, particularly the diverse dominance relations and the important periodicity property. Extensive computational results show that, in all but a very few cases, EDUK2 significantly outperforms both MTU2 and EDUK, the currently available UKP solvers, as well the well-known general purpose mathematical programming optimizer CPLEX of ILOG. These experimental results demonstrate that the class of hard UKP instances needs to be redefined, and the authors offer their insights into the creation of such instances.  相似文献

 In the present study a detailed investigation of the thickness and contact angles of foam films prepared from sodium dodecyl sulfate as a function of LiCl concentration was carried out. Concentration of LiCl was varied in a wide range from 0.05 to 2.0 M. It was found that in the investigated system Newton black foam films are formed at LiCl concentrations higher than 1.4 M. This observation is proved by contact angle measurements and calculated values for the change of interaction free energy between common and Newton black films.
