Two new ferroelectric oligosiloxanes, a cyclic tetramer and a twin, have been synthesized. By a comparative study with their corresponding monomer and side chain polysiloxanes, the influence of oligo- and polymerization on the liquid crystalline and ferroelectric properties have been investigated. Polymerization leads to a stabilization of LC phases through increase of the clearing temperatures and suppression of crystallization. Oligomerization also leads to mesophase broadening, but, due to the low degree of polymerization, the effect is inferior to the linear polysiloxanes. The low viscosity of the oligosiloxanes ensures response times in the microsecond region, thus being comparable with their monomer and conventional LMWFLCs. It is found that polymerization increases the spontaneous polarization Ps. This is attributed to the density increase after polymerization, enhancing the inter-mesogenic interactions. The collective and local dynamics of the OFLCs are influenced differently with respect to their molecular structures. Each oligomer is already a good model for its corresponding polymer concerning the soft mode dynamics. For the local β-relaxation a similar temperature dependence of the relaxation times τ for the cyclic tetramer and for the side chain polysiloxanes is observed. The long axial rotation of the twin, having a very efficient decoupling, is significantly faster, thus resembling the monomer.  相似文献

We give estimates of quark masses from a comparison of two methods of regularizing the coefficient of the Schwinger term. The masses of the first radial excited states of ?, ω, and ? would have to be slightly higher than indicated by the new Orsay data for this method to yield real solutions for the masses of theu, d, ands quarks.  相似文献

First, some general remarks concerning macroscopic “cluster matter” are given. In the second part, three recent, mainly optically and electron-microscopically performed investigations are discussed which deal with special properties of noble metal cluster systems forming the building units of this kind of matter:(1) dressed Au-55 clusters,(2) electromagnetic coupling effects among coagulated clusters,(3) the transition towards compact inhomogeneous matter caused by coalescence of clusters.  相似文献

The proton conductivity of three layer-type compounds was studied: H3OTi2NbO7. H2O, HTiNbO5 and HTiTaO5. Measurements were made between 20 °C and 90°C on pellets pressed from crystalline powders and soaked with pure water. The hydrated compound had the highest conductivity, (20°C)-6.3–6.9·10–4 (cm)–1. Acid ions from the exchange process were quite firmly retained in its layer structure and contributed significantly to the measured conductivity. While the basic fermented (sour) milk products, such as yogurt and kefir can be produced only in live flora version, the post heat-treatment is preferred in their flavored variations to increase the storage time. Casein being in sour coagulum precipitates during heat-treatment; therefore protective colloids surrounding the protein should be used to prevent it. Protective colloids are plant extracts, the most known of them are pectin and amylopectin. Basic requirement of protective colloid effect is the lower swelling temperature of hydrocolloid than the temperature of precipitation of sour coagulum. In this work we have examined the precipitation of sour coagulum as a function of the type of lactic acid bacteria cultures applied during fermentation as well as the swelling of heat protective plant hydrocolloids as a function of the composition (mainly of sugar content) of medium. To investigate the precipitation of fermented coagulum skimmed milk was fermented with mesophilic butter culture, thermophilic yogurt culture as well as with exopolysaccharide (EPS)-producing Prebiolact-2 culture. Precipitation was indicated in the increase of great extent of viscosity. Amylopectin was dispersed into aqueous solution of pH 4.5, the saccharose concentration of which was changed during the investigation of the swelling of heat protective hydrocolloids. A definite exothermic peak was assigned to the swelling of hydrocolloids during the DSC experiments. We could conclude that the precipitation temperature was increasing in the mesophilic-thermophilic-EPS producing microbes line, i.e. the heat stability and swelling temperature of hydrocolloids depend on the saccharose content of aqueous medium and they increase with rising the concentration of saccharose.  相似文献
