The reaction of ethylene sulfide with 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane gave a new silylating agent, which was anchored onto a silica surface via the sol–gel procedure. This surface displayed a chelating moiety containing nitrogen and two sulfur basic centers potentially capable of extracting cations from aqueous solutions. The process of metal extraction was followed by a batch method, and fitted to a modified Langmuir equation. The maximum adsorption capacities found were: 2.06 ± 0.01, 3.72 ± 0.02, and 5.14 ± 0.02 mmol g−1 for Pb(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II), respectively. The enthalpies of bending are: −1.16 ± 0.04, −3.60 ± 0.10, and −8.94 ± 0.03 kJ mol−1 for Cd(II), Pb(II), and Hg(II), respectively. The Gibbs free energies of binding agree with the spontaneity of the proposed reactions between cations and basic centers.  相似文献

Summary The objective of this study was to use synchrotron radiation total reflection X-ray fluorescence analysis (SR-TXRF) for the determination of metals and other elements in food available to the population in commercial establishments, in order to evaluate the risks of contamination by these products. The analyzed species were vegetables, leafy vegetables, fruits, cereal and grain. The results indicated that some species were contaminated by Cr, Cu, Zn and Pb with concentrations much higher than the reference values.  相似文献

Molecular distillation was studied for the separation of tocopherols from soya sludge, both experimentally and by simulation, under different operating conditions, with good agreement. Evaporator temperatures varied from 100°C to 160°C and feed flow rates ranged from 0.1 to 0.8 kg/h. The process pressure was maintained at 10−6 bar, the feed temperature at 50°C, the condenser temperature at 60°C, and the stirring at 350 rpm. For each process condition, samples of both streams (distillate and residue) were collected and stored at −18°C before tocopherols analyses. Owing to the differences between molecular weights and vapor pressures of free fatty acids and tocopherols, tocopherols preferentially remained in the residue at evaporator temperatures of 100°C and 120°C, whereas for higher temperatures (140°C and 160°C) and lower feed flow rate, tocopherols tended to migrate to the distillate stream.  相似文献

Four lupane pentacyclic triterpenes were isolated from the hexane extract of stems and branches of Maytenus imbricata Mart. ex Reissek : 3‐oxolup‐20(30)‐en‐29‐al ( 1 ), 30‐hydroxylup‐20(29)‐en‐3‐one ( 2 ), (11α)‐11‐hydroxylup‐20(29)‐en‐3‐one ( 3 ), and (3β)‐lup‐20(30)‐ene‐3,29‐diol ( 4 ). Zein films plasticized with oleic acid were formed by solution casting, by the stretching of moldable resins, and by blown film extrusion. The effects of the forming process on film structure were investigated by X-ray diffraction. Wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) patterns showed d-spacings at 4.5 and 10 A, which were attributed to the zein alpha-helix backbone and inter-helix packing, respectively. The 4.5 A d-spacing remained stable under processing while the 10 A d-spacing varied with processing treatment. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) detected a long-range periodicity for the formed films but not for unprocessed zein, which suggests that the forming process-promoted film structure development is possibly aided by oleic acid. The SAXS d-spacing varied among the samples (130-238 A) according to zein origin and film-forming method. X-ray scattering data suggest that the zein molecular structure resists processing but the zein supramolecular arrangements in the formed films are dependent on processing methods. Testosterone undecanoate (T‐C11) can be used by athletes in order to improve performance. After oral intake, T‐C11 is rapidly metabolized, hampering discrimination between exogenous and endogenous testosterone. A possible alternative is to detect the intact ester in hair. A method based on liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of T‐C11 in hair. The sample procedure consisted of digestion of 200 mg of pulverized hair with tris(2‐carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride and liquid–liquid extraction with n‐pentane. Several parameters such as the mobile phase, the ionization source and the washing step were optimized. The method was validated at different spiked levels obtaining satisfactory values for accuracy (between 92 and 102%) with relative standard deviations lower than 7% and a limit of detection of 0.2 ng/g. The applicability of the method was checked by the analysis of three samples from patients using T‐C11. A peak for the analyte was detected in all samples with concentrations between 0.4 and 8.4 ng/g. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction was combined with X-ray energy-dispersion, Fourier-transform infrared, and Raman spectroscopies to study the fossilization of a Cretaceous specimen of the plant Brachyphyllum castilhoi, a fossil from the Ipubi Formation, in the Araripe Sedimentary Basin, Northeastern Brazil. Among the possible fossilization processes, which could involve pyrite, silicon oxide, calcium oxide, or other minerals, we were able to single out pyritization as the central mechanism producing the fossil, more than 100 million years ago. In addition to expanding the knowledge of the Ipubi Formation, this study shows that, when combined with other experimental techniques, Raman spectroscopy is a valuable tool at the paleontologist’s disposal.  相似文献
