In the present investigation, we study the influence of a transverse magnetic field on the one-dimensional motion of an electrically conducting micropolar fluid through a porous medium. Laplace transform techniques are used to derive the solution in the Laplace transform domain. The inversion process is carried out using a numerical method based on Fourier series expansions. Numerical computations for the temperature, the microrotation and the velocity distributions as well as for the induced magnetic and electric fields are carried out and represented graphically.  相似文献

Cerium(IV) antimonate was prepared by dropwise addition of 0.6M antimony pentachloride and 0.6M cerium ammonium nitrate solutions by a molar ratio of Ce/Sb 0.75. Exchange isotherms for H+/Co2+, H+/Cs+, H+/Zn2+, H+/Sr2+ and H+/Eu3+ were determined at 25, 40 and 60°C. Besides, it was proved that europium is physically adsorped, while zinc, strontium, cobalt and cesium are chemically adsorbed. Moreover, the heat of adsorption of zinc, strontium, cobalt and cesium on cerium (IV) antimonate was calculated and indicated that cerium(IV) antimonate is of endothermic behavior towards these ions. Also the distribution coefficients of these ions were determined and it was found that the selectivity is in the order: Eu3+>Sr2+>Cs+>Na+.  相似文献

The nonlinear electrohydrodynamic stability of an irrotational jet in the presence of capillary force and weak viscous stress on the surface has been studied. Two nonlinear modified Schrödinger equations are obtained. Neglecting the viscous stress, the classic Schrödinger equations are obtained. The stability conditions of steady state solutions are investigated, using the modulation concept. It is found that the viscous stress produces a resonance (say a viscous resonance) away from the critical point. For the progressive waves, we obtained modified transition curves inserting the viscous stress. The classic nonlinear cutoff wave number is obtained and this means that the viscous stress has a fluctuating effect on the perturbed jet, away from the critical points.  相似文献

The fabrication of colorless and see-through dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) requires the photosensitizers to have little or no absorption in the visible light region of the solar spectrum. However, a trade-off between transparency and power conversion efficiency (PCE) has to be tackled, since most transparent DSCs are showing low PCE when compared to colorful and opaque DSCs. One strategy to increase PCE is applying two cosensitizers with selective conversion of the UV and NIR radiation, therefore, the non-visible part only is absorbed. In this study, we report synthesis of novel five UV-selective absorbers, based on diimide and Schiff bases incorporating carboxyl and pyridyl anchoring groups. A systematic computational investigation using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT approaches was employed to evaluate their prospect of application in transparent DSCs. Experimental UV/Vis absorption spectra showed that all dyes exhibit an absorption band covering the mid/near-UV region of solar spectrum, with a bathochromic shift and a hyperchromic shifts for Py-1 dye. Computational results showed that the studied dyes satisfied the basic photophysical and energetics requirements of operating DSC as well as the stability and thermodynamical spontaneity of adsorption onto surface of TiO2. However, results revealed outperformance of the thienothiophene core-containing Py-1 UV-dye, owing to its advantageous structural attributes, improved conjugation, intense emission, large Stokes shift and maximum charge transferred to the anchor. Chemical compatibility of Py-1 dye was then theoretically investigated as a potential cosensitizer of a reference VG20-C2 NIR-dye. By the judicious selection of pyridyl anchor-based UV-absorber (Py-1) and carboxyl anchor-based NIR-absorber (VG20), the advantage of the optical complementarity and selectivity of different TiO2-adsorption-site (Lewis- and Bronsted-acidic) can be achieved. An improved overall PCE is estimated accordingly.  相似文献

Using light energy and O2 for the direct chemical oxidation of organic substrates is a major challenge. A limitation is the use of sacrificial electron donors to activate O2 by reductive quenching of the photosensitizer, generating undesirable side products. A reversible electron acceptor, methyl viologen, can act as electron shuttle to oxidatively quench the photosensitizer, [Ru(bpy)3]2+, generating the highly oxidized chromophore and the powerful reductant methyl‐viologen radical MV+.. MV+. can then reduce an iron(III) catalyst to the iron(II) form and concomitantly O2 to O2.? in an aqueous medium to generate an active iron(III)‐(hydro)peroxo species. The oxidized photosensitizer is reset to its ground state by oxidizing an alkene substrate to an alkenyl radical cation. Closing the loop, the reaction of the iron reactive intermediate with the substrate or its radical cation leads to the formation of two oxygenated compounds, the diol and the aldehyde following two different pathways.  相似文献

The problem of nonlinear instability of interfacial waves between two immiscible conducting cylindrical fluids of a weak Oldroyd 3-constant kind is studied. The system is assumed to be influenced by an axial magnetic field, where the effect of surface tension is taken into account. The analysis, based on the method of multiple scale in both space and time, includes the linear as well as the nonlinear effects. This scheme leads to imposing of two levels of the solvability conditions, which are used to construct like-nonlinear Schr6dinger equations (1-NLS) with complex coefficients. These equations generally describe the competition between nonlinearity and dispersion. The stability criteria are theoret- ically discussed and thereby stability diagrams are obtained for different sets of physical parameters. Proceeding to the nonlinear step of the problem, the results show the appearance of dual role of some physical parameters. Moreover, these effects depend on the wave kind, short or long, except for the ordinary viscosity parameter. The effect of the field on the system stability depends on the existence of viscosity and differs in the linear case of the problem from the nonlinear one. There is an obvious difference between the effect of the three Oldroyd constants on the system stability. New instability regions in the parameter space, which appear due to nonlinear effects, are shown.  相似文献
