Kinetics of the hydroprocessing of anisole, a compound representative of lignin‐derived bio‐oils, catalyzed by a commercial sulfided CoMo/Al2O3, was determined at 8–20 bar pressure and 573–673 K with a once‐through flow reactor. The catalyst was sulfided in an atmosphere of H2 + H2S prior to the measurement of its performance. Selectivity‐conversion data were used as a basis for determining an approximate, partially quantified reaction network showing that hydrodeoxygenation (HDO), hydrogenolysis, and alkylation reactions take place simultaneously. The data indicate that these reactions can be stopped at the point where HDO is virtually completed and hydrogenation reactions (and thus H2 consumption) are minimized. Phenol was the major product of the reactions, with direct deoxygenation of anisole to give benzene being kinetically almost insignificant under our conditions. We infer that the scission of the Cmethyl–O bond is more facile than the scission of the Caromatic–O bond, so that the HDO of anisole likely proceeds substantially through the reactive intermediate phenol to give transalkylation products such as 2‐methylphenol. The data determine rates of formation of the major primary products. The data show that if oxygen removal is the main processing goal, higher temperatures and lower pressures are favored.  相似文献

A series of tertiary aminosquaramides as bifunctional organocatalysts in the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of l ‐lactide (l ‐LA) were developed, allowing the activation of both the l ‐LA monomer and the alcohol group of the initiator/propagating species. Further, the impact of tertiary nitrogen substituents on catalytic activity in ROP of l ‐LA was explored. The tertiary aminosquaramide— an air‐stable and moisture‐stable catalyst—exhibited superior activity in contest with thiourea counterpart when both were equipped with a similar tertiary amine group. Kinetic and chain‐extension experiments indicated that the formed poly(l ‐LA) is featured with narrow polydispersity and high end‐group fidelity, hallmarks of a living polymerization process. The initiator efficiency was further executed at ease by preparation of an ABA triblock copolymer poly (l ‐LA)‐b‐poly (ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly (l ‐LA) in the presence of a dual‐headed PEG macroinitiator. 1H NMR titration experiments suggested a bifunctional catalytic mechanism, wherein both the l ‐LA monomer and the propagating hydroxyl group were activated en route to polymerization. The 1H NMR, SEC, and MALDI‐TOF MS measurements validated the quantitative incorporation of the initiator in the polymeric chains and enchainment over competitive trans‐esterification reaction. Overall, the structure‐activity relationships were surveyed to uncover aminosquaramide as a new bifunctional dual hydrogen‐bond donor catalyst for living ROP of l ‐LA. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Di[1,6-bis(3-methylimidazolium-1-yl)hexane] decatangstate ([C6(MIm)2]2W10O32) was found to be a novel, powerful and effective catalyst for the preparation of N-benzoylglycine carbamides as derivatives of AT-130 via one-pot multicomponent reaction performed under microwave irradiations. Free convection heat transfer along an isothermal vertical wavy surface was studied experimentally and numerically. A Mach-Zehnder Interferometer was used in the experiment to determine the local heat transfer coefficients. Experiments were done for three different amplitude–wavelength ratios of α = 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and the Rayleigh numbers ranging from Ra l = 2.9 × 105 to 5.8 × 105. A finite-volume based code was developed to verify the experimental study and obtain the results for all the amplitude–wavelength ratios between α = 0 to 0.2. It is found that the numerical results agree well with the experimental data. Results indicate that the frequency of the local heat transfer rate is the same as that of the wavy surface. The average heat transfer coefficient decreases as the amplitude–wavelength ratio increases and there is a significant difference between the average heat transfer coefficients of the surface with α = 0.2 and those surfaces with α = 0.05 and 0.1. The experimental data are correlated with a single equation which gives the local Nusselt number along the wavy surface as a function of the amplitude–wavelength ratio and the Rayleigh number.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the optical bistability induced by optical nonlinearity in a compact parallel array of micro-ring resonators with radius of 5 μm. Due to the nature of perfect light confinement in this structure, resonance and accumulation process in a ring resonator and optical nonlinear effects, are observable even at small optical power (a few milliwatts). Different optical applications such as all-optical switching, optical memory devices, logic gates and modulators are possible, due to optical bistability in a ring resonator. Using alternative semiconductor compounds, instead of silicon that have weak nonlinear optical properties, we improve the performance of ring-resonator based devices. Here we use a polymer cladding layer with negative thermo-optic coefficient. Using this structure we can eliminate the temperature created nonlinearity which is a very slow process. Therefore, the switching speed increases from a few MHz to several tens of GHz. By plotting the transfer function of the resonator, a hysteresis loop is observed in a few milliwatts. Although, using a ring resonator array the bandwidth reduces, however, the width of the hysteresis loop and resolution between both steady state increases.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a framework to enhance light extraction efficiency in white organic light emitting diodes (WOLED) using photonic crystal (PhC) structures sandwiched between indium tin oxide (ITO, nITO = 1.8+0.01i) and glass (nglass = 1.51) substrate, according to the high refractive index contrast of these two layers almost 50% of the generated light inside WOLED gets trapped in the mentioned interface. The main purpose of this article is to suggest a method to intentionally optimize PhC structures to reduce total internal reflections (TIR) happening at ITO/glass interface. Here three different patterns are considered including rectangular, hexagonal and circular lattices. Using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method and the presented framework for choosing structural parameters the portion of 50% trapped light in ITO was reduced to 20% which is a large enhancement in extraction efficiency of WOLED. Also far-field results before and after adding PhCs are investigated.  相似文献
