By means of an original all-optical experimental technique using microphotoluminescence in a waveguiding geometry, resonant coherent manipulation of quantum states in a single quantum dot becomes possible now. Resonant Rabi oscillation of the fundamental exciton state in a single quantum dot has been realized. We present the results obtained on two different kinds of samples: InAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dots and naturally formed GaAs quantum dots by thickness fluctuations.  相似文献

The structure properties of the even-even nuclei 226, 228, 230, 232, 234Th, 230, 232, 234, 236, 238, 240U, 240, 242, 244, 246Pu, and 242, 244, 246, 248Cm have been investigated at normal and superdeformed shapes in microscopic mean-field calculations based on Gogny force. Collective levels are predicted from constrained Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov and configuration mixing calculations. Two quasiparticle states are also predicted from blocking calculations for neutron and proton configurations. Predictions are shown and compared with experimental data at superdeformed shapes. This study was designed to develop a database for the electroglottographic measurement of fundamental frequency (Fo) in normal subjects in running speech, for reference in the diagnosis and follow-up of dysphonic patients. A prospective pilot study included 20 healthy male volunteers without laryngeal disorder. Electroglottographic recordings of speaking Fo during connected speech (French) were obtained from two texts with different prosodic content. Fo histograms were sensitive to the variation of speaking Fo between both texts. Graphic representation of the range and distribution of the Fo of the speaker were designed as normalized Fo histograms with plot lines at 5th and 95th percentiles. Less than 5% variability of Fo histograms was recorded when recording more than 15 subjects. This pilot study designed a graphic display of standardized electroglottographic Fo measurements during the physiological condition of connected speech. As the degree of Fo variability depends on the phonetic contents of the text and on the language spoken, a separate histogram for normal subjects needs to be developed in each country or at least for each voice laboratory, with a standard, previously chosen text.  相似文献

We consider a Brownian snake (Ws,s0) with underlying process a reflected Brownian motion in a bounded domain D. We construct a continuous additive functional (Ls,s0) of the Brownian snake which counts the time spent by the end points s of the Brownian snake paths on D. The random measure Z=sdLs is supported by D. Then we represent the solution v of u=4u2 in D with weak Neumann boundary condition 0 by using exponential moment of (Z,) under the excursion measure of the Brownian snake. We then derive an integral equation for v. For small it is then possible to describe negative solution of u=4u2 in D with weak Neumann boundary condition . In contrast to the exit measure of the Brownian snake out of D, the measure Z is more regular. We study the structure of a class of laminar closed positive currents on ℂℙ2, naturally appearing in birational dynamics. Single-electron charging in an individual InAs quantum dot was observed by electrostatic force measurements with an atomic-force microscope (AFM). The resonant frequency shift and the dissipated energy of an oscillating AFM cantilever were measured as a function of the tip-back electrode voltage, and the resulting spectra show distinct jumps when the tip was positioned above the dot. The observed jumps in the frequency shift, with corresponding peaks in dissipation, are attributed to a single-electron tunneling between the dot and the back electrode governed by the Coulomb blockade effect, and are consistent with a model based on the free energy of the system. The observed phenomenon may be regarded as the "force version" of the Coulomb blockade effect.  相似文献

The electromagnetic coupling between a two-dimensional grating of resonant gold nanoparticles and a gold metallic film is investigated. We report on the observation of multipeaks in the extinction spectra attributed to resonant modes of the hybrid system, resulting from the coupling between the localized plasmon of the nanoparticles with the underlying surface plasmon mode. Simulations based on the Fourier modal method give good agreement with the experimental measurements and allow for the identification of the respective contributions.  相似文献

Background

Peptidergic neurons containing the melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) and the hypocretins (or orexins) are intermingled in the zona incerta, perifornical nucleus and lateral hypothalamic area. Both types of neurons have been implicated in the integrated regulation of energy homeostasis and body weight. Hypocretin neurons have also been involved in sleep-wake regulation and narcolepsy. We therefore sought to determine whether hypocretin and MCH neurons express Fos in association with enhanced paradoxical sleep (PS or REM sleep) during the rebound following PS deprivation. Next, we compared the effect of MCH and NaCl intracerebroventricular (ICV) administrations on sleep stage quantities to further determine whether MCH neurons play an active role in PS regulation.

Results

Here we show that the MCH but not the hypocretin neurons are strongly active during PS, evidenced through combined hypocretin, MCH, and Fos immunostainings in three groups of rats (PS Control, PS Deprived and PS Recovery rats). Further, we show that ICV administration of MCH induces a dose-dependant increase in PS (up to 200%) and slow wave sleep (up to 70%) quantities.

Conclusion

These results indicate that MCH is a powerful hypnogenic factor. MCH neurons might play a key role in the state of PS via their widespread projections in the central nervous system.
