Derivatives of 4‐aminomethyl‐l ‐phenylalanine with aromatic oligoamide foldamers as sidechain appendages were successfully charged on tRNA by means of flexizymes. Their subsequent incorporation both at the C‐terminus of, and within, peptide sequences by the ribosome, was demonstrated. A new diagnostic concept based on deep Raman spectroscopy is proposed permitting the non-invasive determination of the level of carbonate substitution in type II calcifications (HAP). The carbonate substitution has shown to be directly associated with the pathology of the surrounding breast tissue and different pathology groups can therefore be separated using specific features in the Raman spectra of the calcifications. This study explores the principle of distinguishing between type II calcifications, found in proliferating lesions, by using the strongest Raman peak from calcium hydroxyapatites (the phosphate peak at 960 cm(-1)) to act as a surrogate marker for carbonate substitution levels. It is believed that carbonate ion substitution leads to a perturbation of the hydroxyapatite lattice which in turn affects the phosphate vibrational modes. By studying calcifications, with known carbonate content, buried in porcine tissue it has been possible to evaluate the feasibility of using the proposed approach to probe the composition of the calcifications in vivo and hence provide pathology specific information non-invasively, in real time. Using the proposed concept we were able to determine the level of carbonate substitutions through soft tissue phantom samples (total thickness of 5.6 mm). As the level of carbonate substitution has been previously correlated with mid-FTIR to the lesion type, i.e. whether benign or invasive or in situ carcinoma, the new findings provide a major step forward towards establishing a new capability for diagnosing benign and malignant lesions in breast tissue in a safe and non-invasive manner in vivo. 相似文献

The propagation of localised (in space-time) waves is analysed in the context of the dynamic theory of incompressible hyperelastic solids subject to body forces corresponding to a dual power-law substrate potential. A broad class of exact solutions is obtained which, under the assumption of slow modulation, incorporates Helmholtz-type solitary waves. The linear stability of these solutions is studied under the assumption that the speed of propagation of the wave is small enough compared to the speed at which transverse waves travel in the linear regime and in the absence of external actions. 相似文献

A Lie 2-algebra is a ‘categorified’ version of a Lie algebra: that is, a category equipped with structures analogous to those of a Lie algebra, for which the usual laws hold up to isomorphism. In the classical mechanics of point particles, the phase space is often a symplectic manifold, and the Poisson bracket of functions on this space gives a Lie algebra of observables. Multisymplectic geometry describes an n-dimensional field theory using a phase space that is an ‘n-plectic manifold’: a finite-dimensional manifold equipped with a closed nondegenerate (n + 1)-form. Here we consider the case n = 2. For any 2-plectic manifold, we construct a Lie 2-algebra of observables. We then explain how this Lie 2-algebra can be used to describe the dynamics of a classical bosonic string. Electrochemical water treatment is one of the key topics of environmental electrochemistry. Identifying electrocatalytic materials capable of electrogenerating high oxidant species in situ seems to have catalyzed researchers’ interest in these processes. While most studies have focused on ideal lab-made solutions, translation to higher technology readiness levels and commercialization requires reframing research questions in context of real water matrices. In this current opinion, we discuss disconnects that may occur when focusing on synthetic solution treatment rather than on real waters. Future research can fill the gaps identified herein, thus facilitating application of electrochemical water treatment technologies. 相似文献
