The particular role of radiopharmacy within bioorganometallic chemistry

This article will emphasize the particular role of organometallic radiopharmaceutical chemistry, namely the need for syntheses from water and the emerging implications for other (bio)organometallic fields. After some basic insights into the different directions of bioorganometallic chemistry, some facets of the [M(CO)₃]⁺ (M = Tc, Re) moiety are reviewed and discussed in the respective context. The mechanism for the synthesis of [M(OH₂)₃(CO)₃]⁺ which is still little understood, will be touched. The formation of additional M-C bonds is exemplified with cyclopentadienyl chemistry, the potential impact on targeted molecular imaging with the labelling of amino acids and the reactivity towards essential biomolecules such as guanine is shown. Future perspectives and implications for organometallic radiopharmaceutical chemistry will close this article.

Fragmentation during the formic acid/formaldehyde (eschweiler-clarke) methylation of polyamines

Eschweiler-Clarke methylations of both acyclic and cyclic polyamines can lead to methylation products of fragments of the original polyamine; thus 1,5,9,13-tetra-azatridecane yields 1,1,3,3-tetramethylpropanediamine exclusively and 1,5,9-triazacyclododecane gives 45% 1,5,9-trimethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclodecane and 45% 2,6,10-trimethyl-2,6,10-triazaundecane.     

Regularization procedures of mixed finite element approximations of the stokes problem

We propose a theoretical framework for the study of regularization of the Stokes problem. This enables us to perform a general error analysis and to apply it to known schemes as well as to a new one pertaining to the use of the P1-P1 element. Finally we show that in the P1-case the theory can also be used to get convergence results for elements obtained by addition of bubble functions, without using the usual mixed finite element machinery.     

Synthesis of enantiomeric-pure cyclohexenyl nucleoside building blocks for oligonucleotide synthesis

Lipases were used for the resolution of (±) (4aR, 7R, 8aS)-2-phenyl-4a,7,8,8a-tetrahydro-4H-1,3-benzodioxine. This separation was carried out on preparative scale and used for the synthesis of eight phosphoramidites of cyclohexenyl nucleosides (d- and l-series).
