Cod and salmon are both widely found in the seafood market, but those products are easily spoiled. This work reports on the investigation of the effects of three moderate pressure values (150, 300 and 450?MPa) applied for 5?min at 20°C on crude sliced cod and salmon fillets. It was found that high pressure processing (HPP) significantly reduced the microbial load during refrigerated storage for up to 14 days. As expected, the most effective treatment was 450?MPa because it inhibited microbial growth. This process affected the hardness, lightness, lipid oxidation, protein denaturation and oxidation. The fish muscle composition (lipid amount and protein profile) played a main role in the changes promoted by pressure. HPP permits the shelf life of the raw product at 4°C to be increased with minimal changes in the organoleptic characteristics and to enable crude consumption. 相似文献

We investigate the dynamics of large-scale interacting neural populations, composed of conductance based, spiking model neurons with modifiable synaptic connection strengths, which are possibly also subjected to external noisy currents. The network dynamics is controlled by a set of neural population probability distributions (PPD) which are constructed along the same lines as in the Klimontovich approach to the kinetic theory of plasmas. An exact non-closed, nonlinear, system of integro-partial differential equations is derived for the PPDs. As is customary, a closing procedure leads to a mean field limit. The equations we have obtained are of the same type as those which have been recently derived using rigorous techniques of probability theory. The numerical solutions of these so called McKean–Vlasov–Fokker–Planck equations, which are only valid in the limit of infinite size networks, actually shows that the statistical measures as obtained from PPDs are in good agreement with those obtained through direct integration of the stochastic dynamical system for large but finite size networks. Although numerical solutions have been obtained for networks of Fitzhugh–Nagumo model neurons, which are often used to approximate Hodgkin–Huxley model neurons, the theory can be readily applied to networks of general conductance-based model neurons of arbitrary dimension. 相似文献

This paper argues that the case for “gravitizing” quantum theory is at least as strong as that for quantizing gravity. Accordingly, the principles of general relativity must influence, and actually change, the very formalism of quantum mechanics. Most particularly, an “Einsteinian”, rather than a “Newtonian” treatment of the gravitational field should be adopted, in a quantum system, in order that the principle of equivalence be fully respected. This leads to an expectation that quantum superpositions of states involving a significant mass displacement should have a finite lifetime, in accordance with a proposal previously put forward by Diósi and the author. 相似文献

A terahertz (THz) photomixer: (i) a meander type antenna with integrated nanoelectrodes on (ii) a low temperature grown GaAs has been fabricated and characterized. It was designed for spectral range of 0.3–0.4 THz where molecular fingerprinting and sensing are performed. By combination of electron beam lithography with post-processing using focused ion beam (FIB), milling the THz emitter was successfully fabricated. Nanogaps as small as 40 nm width in the active area of photomixer were milled by FIB. Nanocontacts enhance electric fields of the illuminated and THz radiation and contribute to a better collection of photo-electrons. THz emission was obtained and spectrally characterized. 相似文献

We present a model for the shear viscosity of non-colloidal suspensions with Newtonian matrix fluids. The model is based on the original idea first presented by Brinkman (Applied Sci Research A1:27-34. 1947) for the viscous force exerted by a flowing fluid on a dense swarm of spherical particles. In particular, we consider an inertialess suspension in which the mean flow is driven by a pressure difference, and simultaneously, the suspension is subject to simple shear. Assuming steady state, incompressibility and taking into account a resistance force which is generated due to the presence of the particles in the flow, the three-dimensional governing equations for the mean flow around a single spherical particle are solved analytically. Self-consistency of the model provides a relationship between the resistance parameter and the volume fraction of the solid phase. A volume, or an ensemble, averaging of the total stress gives the bulk properties and an expression for the relative (bulk) viscosity of the suspension. The viscosity expression reduces to the Einstein limit for dilute suspensions and agrees well with empirical formulas from the literature in the semi-dilute and concentrated regimes. Since the model is based on a single particle and its average interaction with the other particles is isotropic, no normal stress differences can be predicted. A possible method of addressing this problem is provided in the paper. 相似文献

We present the results of a comprehensive theoretical investigation of the role of pendant amine ligands in the oxidation of H(2) and formation of H(2) by [Ni(P(R)(2)N(R')(2))(2)](2+) electrocatalysts (P(R)(2)N(R')(2) is the 1,5-R'-3,7-R derivative of 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane, in which R and R' are aryl or alkyl groups). We focus our analysis on the thermal steps of the catalytic cycle, as they are known to be rate-determining for both H(2) oxidation and production. We find that the presence of pendant amine functional groups greatly facilitates the heterolytic H(2) bond cleavage, resulting in a protonated amine and a Ni hydride. Only one single positioned pendant amine is required to serve this function. The pendant amine can also effectively shuttle protons to the active site, making the redistribution of protons and the H(2) evolution a very facile process. An important requirement for the overall catalytic process is the positioning of at least one amine in close proximity to the metal center. Indeed, only protonation of the pendant amines on the metal center side (endo position) leads to catalytically active intermediates, whereas protonation on the opposite side of the metal center (exo position) leads to a variety of isomers, which are detrimental to catalysis. 相似文献

New non‐fouling tubes are developed and their influence on the adhesion of neuroproteins is studied. Recombinant prion proteins are considered as a single component representative of hydrophobic proteins. Samples are stored for 24 h at 4 °C in tubes coated with two different coatings: poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) as a hydrophilic surface and a plasma‐fluorinated coating as a hydrophobic one. The protein adhesion is monitored by ELISA tests, XPS and confocal microscopy. It appears that the highest recovery of recombinant prion protein in the liquid phase is obtained with the hydrophilic surface while the hydrophobic character of the storage tube induces an important amount of biological loss. However, the recovery is not complete even for tubes coated with poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide).
