Wastes and by-products of the onion-processing industry pose an increasing disposal and environmental problem and represent
a loss of valuable sources of nutrients. The present study focused on the production of vinegar from worthless onions as a
potential valorisation route which could provide a viable solution to multiple disposal and environmental problems, simultaneously
offering the possibility of converting waste materials into a useful food-grade product and of exploiting the unique properties
and health benefits of onions. This study deals specifically with the second and definitive step of the onion vinegar production
process: the efficient production of vinegar from onion waste by transforming onion ethanol, previously produced by alcoholic
fermentation, into acetic acid via acetic fermentation. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), coupled with multivariate calibration
methods, has been used to monitor the concentrations of both substrates and products in acetic fermentation. Separate partial
least squares (PLS) regression models, correlating NIR spectral data of fermentation samples with each kinetic parameter studied,
were developed. Wavelength selection was also performed applying the iterative predictor weighting–PLS (IPW-PLS) method in
order to only consider significant spectral features in each model development to improve the quality of the final models
constructed. Biomass, substrate (ethanol) and product (acetic acid) concentration were predicted in the acetic fermentation
of onion alcohol with high accuracy using IPW-PLS models with a root-mean-square error of the residuals in external prediction
(RMSEP) lower than 2.5% for both ethanol and acetic acid, and an RMSEP of 6.1% for total biomass concentration (a very satisfactory
result considering the relatively low precision and accuracy associated with the reference method used for determining the
latter). Thus, the simple and reliable calibration models proposed in this study suggest that they could be implemented in
routine applications to monitor and predict the key species involved in the acetic fermentation of onion alcohol, allowing
the onion vinegar production process to be controlled in real time. 相似文献

Cellulose-based carriers Granocel were specially prepared and optimised for covalent immobilization of enzymes. The effects
of carrier characteristics such as pore size, chemistry of anchor groups and their density on invertase immobilization efficiency
were evaluated. It was found that the preferential adsorption/binding of the enzyme to a carrier during coupling and its activity
after immobilization depended on microenvironmental effects created by hydrophilic surface of the carrier, functional groups
and their activators. The best preparations (activity approx. 300 U/mL, high storage stability) were obtained for NH2-Granocel activated with glutaraldehyde. It is probably due to Granocel modification with pentaethylenehexamine that gave
a 19-atom spacer arm. The enzyme concentration in coupling mixture was optimised as well. The kinetic parameters of sucrose
hydrolysis for native and immobilized invertase were evaluated. Compared to the native invertase, K
m
value of immobilized enzyme was only twice higher with about three times lower substrate inhibition. Reaction runs in a well
mixed batch reactors with native and immobilized invertase showed slightly slower reaction rate in the case of the enzyme
covalently bound to Granocel. Very good stability of cellulose-based carrier was proved experimentally by 20 successive reaction

These reactions can be carried out on (E)- or (Z)-alpha,beta-enamides in which the C-C double bond is di-, or trisubstituted. This process takes place with total stereospecificity and the new stereogenic center is generated with high or total stereoselectivity. Some synthetic applications of the obtained silylcyclopropyl amides are also reported. In this work a new liquid chromatography with diode array detection and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (LC-DAD-ESI-MS) method has been developed for the determination of fumagillin residues in honey. This procedure involves a solid-phase extraction on polymeric cartridges for the isolation of fumagillin from diluted honey. Chromatographic separation of fumagillin was performed in isocratic mode, on a C(18) column (150 mm x 4.60mm i.d., 5 microm), the mobile phase consisted of a mixture of ammonium formate 20mM in water and acetonitrile (61/39, v/v), at 35 degrees C and the flow rate was set at 1.0 mL/min. Average analyte recoveries, influenced by the botanical origin were from 88 to 96% in replica sets of fortified honey samples. The detection limits of the LC-DAD-ESI-MS method were between 24 and 1 microg/kg for clear honeys (rosemary) and between 45 and 4 microg/kg for dark honeys (heather). The developed method has been applied to the analysis of fumagillin residues in honey samples collected from veterinary treated beehives, infected by Nosema ceranae and fed with the technical product at different doses. 相似文献

The electronic communication between two redox centres through a Schiff base complex has been investigated in a series of ethylenediimine-bis(1-ferrocenyl-1,3-butanedionate) complexes of Zn(II) 1, Cu(II) 2, Ni(II) 3 and Co(II) 4. Cyclic voltammetry experiments of 1 and 2 exhibit a unique two-electron reversible oxidation wave, whereas in the case of 3 and 4 two and three one-electron oxidation processes are, respectively, observed. These results suggest some electronic interaction between the iron atoms of the ferrocenyl groups. DFT calculations carried out on model complexes show that for all the studied compounds the removal of the first two electrons corresponds to the oxidation processes of the iron centres in the weakly coupled ferrocenyl termini. The electronic communication between the two iron centres increases on going from 1 to 4. Finally, a re-indexation of the bands observed in the UV-Visible spectra has been carried out using TDDFT calculations. 相似文献

Reaction of hybrid scorpionate/cyclopentadienyl ligands in the form of the lithium derivatives [Li(bpzcp)(THF)] [bpzcp=2,2-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-1,1-diphenylethylcyclopentadienyl], [Li(bpztcp)(THF)] [bpztcp=2,2-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-1-tert-butylethylcyclopentadienyl], and the in situ-generated "Li(bpzpcp)" [bpzpcp=2,2-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-1-phenylethylcyclopentadienyl] with MCl3(THF)3 afforded the group 3 halide compounds [MCl2(bpzcp)(THF)] (M=Sc, 1; Y, 2), [MCl2(bpztcp)(THF)] (M=Sc, 3; Y, 4), and [MCl2(bpzpcp)(THF)] (M=Sc, 5; Y, 6). The H2O adduct of 4, [YCl2(bpztcp)(H2O)] (7), was formed when a solution of 4 was allowed to stand at room temperature in the presence of moisture. Complexes 1-7 adopt a pseudo-octahedral structure with heteroscorpionate ligands kappa2-NNeta5-Cp coordinated to the metal through the cyclopentadienyl group and two imino nitrogens of pyrazole rings. The alkyl heteroscorpionate scandium and yttrium complexes recently reported by our group, [M(CH2SiMe3)2(bpzcp)], react with 2,6-dimethylphenol and 3,5-dimethylphenol to give the bis(aryloxide) derivatives [M(OAr)2(bpzcp)] (M=Sc, OAr=2,6-dimethylphenoxide, 8; M=Y, OAr=2,6-dimethylphenoxide, 9; M=Y, OAr=3,5-dimethylphenoxide, 10). Complex 9 underwent an interesting hydrolysis process to give the tetranuclear complex [{Y(bpzcp)}(micro-OH)2(micro3-OH){Y(OAr)2}]2 (11). Variable-temperature 1H NMR experiments on 9 and 10 revealed a rapid fluxional exchange between coordinated and noncoordinated pyrazolyl rings, producing interconversion between the two enantiomers in which the scorpionate ligand can be coordinated in a kappa1-Neta5-Cp form. The structures of the complexes were determined by spectroscopic methods and the X-ray crystal structures of 2, 7, and 11 were also established. Complexes 1 and 2 are active olefin polymerization catalysts after activation with methylaluminoxane. These compounds gave atactic polystyrenes with narrow molecular weight distribution (Mn/Mw 1.26-1.91) and with low molecular weights. 相似文献

A physicochemical study of the systems formed by the clay minerals, montmorillonite and kaolinite (layered) and sepiolite
(non-layered) and the surfactants Triton X-100 (TX100, non-ionic), dodecyl sodium sulfate (SDS, anionic) and trimethyloctadecyl-ammonium
bromide (ODTMA, cationic), with different chemical structure, was carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy
(FTIR) and thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA). TG/DTA results indicated an increase in the thermal
stabilization of non-ionic (TX100) and cationic (ODTMA) surfactants adsorbed by all clay minerals in relation to pure compounds.
This effect was greater in montmorillonite and sepiolite than in kaolinite owing to these minerals must allow the establishment
of a stronger bond with the surfactants as indicated by XRD and FTIR results. Differences in decomposition of anionic surfactant
SDS are not emphasized due to the low adsorbed amount of this surfactant by all systems. The results obtained indicate the
interest of taking into account the structure of surfactant and the clay mineral type when preparing customized surfactant-clay
mineral systems which contribute to establish more efficient soil and water remediation strategies based in the use of these

In this work, two analytical methods based on liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-TOFMS) and tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS/MS) are described for the identification, confirmation and quantitation of three insecticides non-authorized in the European Union (nitenpyram, isocarbophos and isofenphos-methyl) but detected in recent monitoring programmes in pepper samples. The proposed methodologies involved a sample extraction procedure using liquid-liquid partition with acetonitrile followed by a cleanup step based on dispersive solid-phase extraction. Recovery studies performed on peppers spiked at different fortification levels (10 and 50 microg kg(-1)) yielded average recoveries in the range 76-100% with relative standard deviation (RSD) (%) values below 10%. Identification, confirmation and quantitation were carried out by LC/TOFMS and LC/MS/MS using a hybrid triple quadrupole linear ion trap (QqLIT) instrument in multiple-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. The obtained limits of quantitation (LOQs) were in the range 0.1-5 microg kg(-1), depending on each individual technique. The interaction of a synthetic enantiopure azamacrocyclic receptor (L) with biologically important chiral dicarboxylates (A, 1-7) has been studied by means of potentiometric titrations in 0.15 M NaCl aqueous solution in a wide pH range. This macrocycle forms strong complexes of the type [HnLA](n-2) (with n = 0-5). As a general trend, the binding is much tighter at basic or neutral pH than in acidic medium. Interestingly, nonprotected excitatory amino acids (Asp and Glu) are strongly bound even at acidic pH. Regarding selectivity, the receptor showed stereoselective binding toward those substrates bearing an H-bonding donor at Calpha, being S-selective in most of the cases, except for glutamic acid. Thus, L displayed an excellent enantioselectivity for (S)-malate dianion (KS/KR = 11.50 at pH 10.0 and KS/KR = 6.86 at pH 7.0) and exhibited moderate enantiopreference for (S,S)-tartrate (KSS/KRR = 3.01 at pH 10 and KSS/KRR = 1.70 at pH 7.0). For this last anion, a very good diastereopreference was also observed (KSS/KRS = 8.46 at pH 10 and KSS/KRS = 4.99 at pH 7.0). On the contrary, L is smoothly R-selective toward (R)-Glu (KR/KS = 3.22 at pH 10 and KR/KS = 2.05 at pH 7.0) due to its longer and more flexible molecular structure. The stereoselectivity of the corresponding complexes decreased when decreasing pH values. For the hydroxy derivatives, mass spectrometry also reflected the trends observed by potentiometry and confirmed the receptor:dicarboxylate 1:1 stoichiometry of the supramolecular complexes. Additional experimental techniques were used to study the most stereoselective example. Solution studies by NMR suggested a good geometrical complementarity between the malate dianion and the receptor, which showed a predominant helical conformation in solution. Besides, self-diffusion rates (PGSE) of the diastereomeric complexes with malate also agree with binding data. Circular dichroism was also used in this case at different pH values, showing a very good correlation between the helical content of the receptor and the stereoselectivity of the molecular recognition process. 相似文献
