f-Element/crown ether complexes: 21. Conformational changes in metal complexed versus hydrogen bonded benzo-15-crown-5 in the structure of [Y(OH2)3(NCMe)-(benzo-15-crown-5)][ClO4]3·benzo-15-crown-5·CH3CN

Crystalline [Y(OH₂)₃(NCMe)(benzo-15-crown-5)][ClO₄]₃·benzo-15-crown-5-CH₃CN can be obtained by slowly cooling a reaction mixture of Y(ClO₄)₃·n H₂O with benzo-15-crown-5 in a solution of acetonitrile and methanol (3 : 1) from 60°C to room temperature. The crystal structure of this complex has been determined at –150 and 20°C. The complex is triclinic,P . At –150°C the cell parameters area = 11.986(4),b = 12.071(7),c = 16.364(5) Å, = 93.56(3), = 98.68(3), = 109.68(4)°, vol = 2187 ų, andD _calc = 1.61 g cm^–3 forZ = 2 formula units. 3633 independently observed [F _o 5(F _o)] reflections were used in the final least-squares refinement leading to an agreement index ofR = 0.048. The Y(III) ion coordination geometry approximates a tricapped trigonal prism with three water molecules and three benzo-15-crown-5 oxygen atoms forming the prism, with the two remaining benzo-15-crown-5 oxygen atoms and the acetonitrile molecule completing the coordination as capping atoms. The three water molecules hydrogen bond a second crown ether molecule and two of the perchlorate anions. The two acetonitrile molecules have contacts with perchlorate oxygen atoms close enough for some weak interaction. One perchlorate is ordered, one is partially disordered as is the coordinated solvent molecule, and the third anion is totally disordered. The two unique crown ether molecules have distinctively different conformations.For Part 20, see reference [1].     

Di- and tri-alkylphosphine adducts of S-donor palladacycles as catalysts in the Suzuki coupling of aryl chlorides

The reaction of tricyclohexylphosphine with the S-based palladacycle [(Pd(mu-OAc)(kappa2-S,C-C(6)H(4)CH(2)SMe))(2)] gives several products, regardless of stoichiometry, one of which, [Pd(kappa1-OAc)(eta1-C(6)H(4)CH(2)SMe)(PCy3)2], has been characterised crystallographically. Despite this, catalysts formed in situ from di- and tri-alkylphosphines and [(Pd(mu-OAc)(kappa2-S,C-C(6)H(4)CH(2)SMe))2] show excellent activity in the Suzuki coupling of a range of deactivated, non-activated and activated aryl chloride substrates.     

A Facile One Stage Synthesis of Oxazolines Under Microwave Irradiation

A rapid, high yielding procedure for the synthesis of 2-substituted oxazolines has been achieved under microwave irradiation from alkyl and aryl nitriles and β-amino alcohols using a mild Lewis acid catalyst.     

An Observation on the Experimental Measurement of Dislocation Density

The common practice of ignoring the elastic strain gradient in measurements of geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) density is critically examined. It is concluded that the practice may result in substantial errors. Our analysis points to the importance of spatial variations of the elastic strain field in relation to its magnitude in inferring estimates of dislocation density from measurements.     

采用金属有机骨架材料M(HBTC)(4,4'-bipy)·3DMF(M=Ni,Co,Zn)催化CO_2与环氧丙烷的环加成反应（英文）

采用溶剂热法合成了三种M(HBTC)(4,4’-bipy)·3DMF(M=Ni,Co,Zn,HBTC=1,3,5-均苯三甲酸,4,4’-bipy=4,4′-联吡啶)结构的支柱层金属有机骨架材料(MOFs).首次采用溶剂热和微波法合成了Zn(HBTC)(4,4’-bipy)·3DMF,并采用多种物理化学方法对其进行了表征.M(HBTC)(4,4’-bipy)·3DMF中包含有M2+离子的蜂窝网格层和BTC单元,BTC单元与4,4’-联吡啶柱进一步交联形成三维多孔骨架材料.在采用烷基铵卤化物作为助催化剂和无溶剂的条件下,所有MOFs材料均对催化固定CO_2与环氧化合物环加成制备环状碳酸酯反应表现出非常好的协同催化性能,其催化活性高低顺序为:ZnCoNi,这可通过酸-碱双功能特性进行解释.采用微波法合成的Zn(HBTC)(4,4’-bipy)·3DMF材料表现出与常规催化剂相似的物理化学性质和催化性能.考察了不同制备参数的影响和材料的重复使用性能,并提出了该反应的可能机理
