Some results on BZ structures from Hilbertian unsharp quantum physics

Some algebraic structures determined by the class (þ) of all effects of a Hilbert space þ and by some subclasses of (þ) are investigated, in particular de Morgan-Brouwer-Zadeh posets [it is proved that (þ ⁿ )(n<) has such a structure], Brouwer-Zadeh ^* posets (a quite trivial example consisting of suitable effects is given), and Brouwer-Zadeh ³ posets which are both de Morgan and ^*.It is shown that a nontrivial class of effects of a Hilbert space exists which is a BZ ³ poset. An -preclusivity relation on the set of all vectors of þ is introduced, and it is shown that it satisfies the regularity condition also for [1/2, 1].     

q-Sigma-algebra generated by balls

The q--algebra, i.e., the system of sets closed under complementation, countable disjoint unions, and containing the empty set, generated by the system of open balls coincides with the -field of Borel sets inR sun forn=1,2, and 3. A first step to extend the proof forn=4, 5, 6, and 7 is indicated.     

Encapsulation of magnetite in vesicles

The encapsulation of fine magnetite particles of 10 nm size and marker ANS within asolectin vesicles has been made by sonication of the mixture in water. For the proof of encapsulation of magnetite in vesicles the electron microscope and spectrofluoriphotometer technique were used. The theory for the calculation of the magnetic force acting on the system consisted of non-capsulated magnetic particles dispersed in water and magnetic vesicles was developed.This work was supported by the Slovak Academy of Sciences within the framework of Project GAV No. 1361.     

On the critical regimes in the theory of randomly forced magnetohydrodynamic turbulence

In this paper large-scale properties of developed magnetohydrodynamic turbulence have been investigated by using double expansion method in the frame of quantum field renormalization group. It has been shown that universal kinetic scaling regime exists, but the double expansion in general leads to qualitatively different results than those provided by the usual -expansion treatment.This work was supported by Slovak Grant Agency for Science.     

Effect of nuclear structure on the single particle β− transitions in deformed nuclei

In the framework of the Nilsson model the calculations of the so called shape factor for the first forbidden ^– transitions 5/2^{+ 241}Pu 5/2^{– 241}Am and 7/2^{+ 177}Lu 7/2^{– 177}Hf are carried out. The dependence on the Nilsson potential parameters is studied. It turns out that for the transitions considered the calculated shape factor depends linearly on the electron energy and its slope is 10^–3 per 20 keV. This can affect the analysis of electron spectra if the endpoint energy is sufficiently large.     

Transport of charged particle pulses in interplanetary magnetic fields

The charged particle scattering in the presence of a regular magnetic field is considered starting from the Boltzmann kinetic equation in the case of an arbitrary relation between the mean free path and the distance from a particle source. It is shown that the Green function for the kinetic equation can be represented as the sum of the distribution functions of non-scattered particles which propagate with the injection pitch angle and of the scattered ones. The obtained Green function of the Boltzmann equation and also the particle density describe the space-time-pitch angle cosmic ray distribution that corresponds to an instantaneous particle injection at a particular pitch angle.This work was supported by International Science Foundation (grant N UC 8000) and by Slovak Grant Agency for Science (grant No. 1353/95).     

On the intrinsic definition of local observables

In a theory of local field algebras satisfying the split property, we introduce an algebra generated by the local energy-momentum operators obtained from the canonical local implementation of translations, and possibly by the local charges operators. We discuss the relations of this algebra to the given algebra of local observables and take some steps toward the characterization of theories where they coincide. In the presence of spontaneously broken symmetries, we present a no-go theorem.
