Voltammetric behavior of cefdinir in solubilized system

The voltammetric behavior of cefdinir has been studied in different surfactant media viz. anionic, neutral, and cationic surfactants over the pH range 2.5-12 in phosphate buffer (0.2 M). Addition of cationic surfactant (citrimide) to the cefdinir containing electrolyte enhanced the reduction current signal while anionic surfactant (sodium lauryl) and neutral surfactant (Tween-20) showed an opposite effect. The reduction process was irreversible over the entire pH range studied (2.5-12). The mechanism of reduction has been postulated on the basis of controlled potential electrolysis, coulometry and spectral analysis. An analytical method with adequate precision and accuracy was developed for the determination of cefdinir in linear concentration range 2x10(-4)-1x10(-5) mol L(-1) with detection limit 0.3x10(-6) mol L(-1). The analysis of cefdinir in its pharmaceutical formulation resulted in mean recoveries of 99 and 98% for both the reduction peaks.

This is a summary of the projects undertaken by the working group I on high energy and collider physics.     

Eigenfunction expansion method to the solution of simultaneous equations and its application in mechanics

The solution of a homogeneous vector-matrix differential equation, when the operator is of linear second order, has been established by the method of eigenfunction approach. The uniqueness of the solution has been established for both the cases when the roots of the characteristic equations are distinct and when they are repeated. Finally, the theory has been applied on two problems of mechanics and the results are compared with the existing literature.     

Synthesis of (E)-8-aza-11-deoxy-15α- and 15β-hydroxyprost-13-en-1-ol

The synthesis of a prostaglandin E₁ analog, (E)-8-aza-11-deoxy-15α- and 15β-hydroxyprost-13-en-1-ol, is reported.     

Long Time Behaviour of Marginally Stable Magnetomodulational Perturbation

The long time behaviour of magnetomodulational perturbation has been investigated by using multiple time scale perturbation method. If the perturbation field is purely potential, it is found that unlike ordinary modulational unstability the magnetomolulational instability persists in the nonlinear stage of evolution. The exact analytical solution obtained for the marginally stable mode of the linear theory exhibits explosively unstable behaviour in the slow time scale. When both potential and solenoidal components of perturbation are present the transverse exerts a stabilising influence. Different kinds of long time behaviour may occur as medicated by the results of the numerical integration of the coupled nonlinear evolution equations for the Langmuir and transverse fields.
