In continuation of a recent study of the electronic structure of norbornane [J. Chem. Phys., 2004, 121, 10525] by means of electron momentum spectroscopy (EMS), we present Green's Function calculations of the ionization spectrum of this compound at the ADC(3) level using basis sets of varying quality, along with accurate evaluations at the CCSD(T) level of the vertical (26.5 eV) and adiabatic (22.1 eV) double ionization thresholds under C(2v) symmetry. The obtained results are compared with newly recorded ultraviolet photoemission spectra (UPS), up to binding energies of 40 eV. The theoretical predictions are entirely consistent with experiment and indicate that, in a vertical depiction of ionization, shake-up states at binding energies larger than approximately 26.5 eV tend to decay via emission of a second electron in the continuum. A band of s-type symmetry that has been previously seen at approximately 25 eV in the electron impact ionization spectra of norbornane is entirely missing in the UPS measurements and theoretical ADC(3) spectra. With regard to these results and to the time scales characterizing electron-electron interactions in EMS (10(-17) s) as compared with that (10(-13) s) of photon-electron interactions in UPS, and considering the p-type symmetry of the electron momentum distributions for the nearest 1b(1) and 1b(2) orbitals, this additional band can certainly not be due to adiabatic double ionization processes starting from the ground electronic state of norbornane, or to exceptionally strong vibronic coupling interactions between cationic states derived from ionization of the latter orbitals. It is therefore tentatively ascribed to autoionization processes via electronically excited and possibly dissociating states.  相似文献

The ability of several water models to predict the properties of ices is discussed. The emphasis is put on the results for the densities and the coexistence curves between the different ice forms. It is concluded that none of the most commonly used rigid models is satisfactory. A new model specifically designed to cope with solid-phase properties is proposed. The parameters have been obtained by fitting the equation of state and selected points of the melting lines and of the coexistence lines involving different ice forms. The phase diagram is then calculated for the new potential. The predicted melting temperature of hexagonal ice (Ih) at 1 bar is 272.2 K. This excellent value does not imply a deterioration of the rest of the properties. In fact, the predictions for both the densities and the coexistence curves are better than for TIP4P, which previously yielded the best estimations of the ice properties.  相似文献

Mo K-edge XAFS spectra have been measured for ordered mesoporous silica MCM-41 grafted with the complexes [MoO2X2(thf)2] (X=Cl, Br). For grafting reactions in the absence of triethylamine, materials with 1 wt. % Mo are obtained; the Mo K-edge EXAFS results indicate the co-existence of isolated surface-fixed monomeric species [MoO2[(-O)3SiO]2(thf)(n)] and [MoO2[(-O)3SiO]X(thf)(n)]. When Et3N is used in the grafting reactions, materials with 4 wt. % Mo are obtained. The EXAFS data for the material prepared using [MoO2Cl2(thf)2] and Et3N indicate the presence of dinuclear species with two Mo(VI) centres, each with two Mo=O groups and each linked by one or two oxo bridges (Mo...Mo 3.27 A). The molybdenum centres in the material prepared using the dibromo complex comprise mainly isolated four-coordinate dioxomolybdenum(VI) and trioxomolybdenum(VI) monomeric species, with a small contribution from dimeric species. All materials were further characterised in the solid state by powder X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption analysis, MAS NMR (13C, 29Si) and FTIR spectroscopy. The derivatised MCMs perform differently as catalysts in the liquid-phase oxidation of various olefins and alcohols with tert-butyl hydroperoxide. The highest alkene epoxidation activity was recorded for the catalysts with low metal loading, whereas the material containing oxo-bridged dimers had the highest activity for oxidation of alcohols. The recyclability of all the catalysts was tested: the catalytic activity of the derivatised materials tended to stabilize with ageing.  相似文献

The cohesion potential energy of the crystal of one enantiomer of ethyl 3-cyano-3-(3,4-dimethyloxyphenyl)-2,2,4-trimethylpentanoate, −47.7 ± 0.1 kJ mol−1 (0–90°C), was found out from the heat of sublimation (123.2 ± 5.1 kJ mol−1, 78.6°C) and the kinetic energies for the gas phase and the crystal. It was found that the entropy function of Debye’s theory of solids mathematically agreed with the vibrational entropy of the gas (variationally obtained), allowing to disclose the vibrational energy using the Debye energy function (E vib 835.0 kJ mol−1 (78.6°C), E 0 included). E kin for the crystal (771.1 kJ mol−1 (78.6°C)) was obtained by Debye’s theory with the experimental heat capacity. The cohesion energy represented a moderate part of the sublimation energy. The cohesion energy of the racemic crystal, −44.2 kJ mol−1, was obtained by the heat of formation of the crystal in the solid state (3.0 kJ mol−1, 83.3°C) and E kin for the crystal (by Debye’s theory). The decrease in cohesion on formation of the crystal accounted for the energy of formation. The change in potential energy on liquefaction of the racemate from the gas state was disclosed obtaining added-up E vib + rot for the liquid in the way as to E vib for the gas, the Debye entropy function being increasedly suited for the liquid (E vib + rot 763.4 kJ mol−1 (115.4°C)). Positive ΔE pot, 13.0 kJ mol−1, arised from the increase in electronic energy (Δ l νmean − 154.3 cm−1, by the dielectric nature of the liquid), added to the cohesion energy.  相似文献

Oxygen chamisorbed at low temperature on a doped MoO3/SiO2 catalyst has been used to evaluate the dispersity of molybdena. The time on stream seems to increase considerably the dispersity of active phase, also observed by Scanning Electron Microscopt (SEM). IR spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis have shown interaction between Te and Mo oxides. A weak complex of propylene on the surface, and carboxylate species on the oxidized surface have been detected.

An extraction/clean-up procedure by SFE was developed for isolating PAHs from liver samples for subsequent HPLC-FL determination of ten PAHs in the enriched extract. Recoveries (90-115%) and RSD % (< or =7.7) were satisfactory. When applied to 11 samples of bird of prey (Tyto alba) protected species and classified of special interest, from the Galicia (Northwest to Spain), benzo[ghi]perylene and indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene were undetectable; chrysene and benzo[a]pyrene are only detected in one sample; benzo[a]anthracene and benzo[k]fluoranthene are only quantified in one sample and benzo[b]fluoranthene in two samples. The other PAHs, anthracene, fluoranthene and pyrene are present in almost all the samples.  相似文献

The preparation and spectral properties often novel methyl 5‐[(o‐, m‐, and p‐substituted)‐phenylthio]‐2‐benzimidazolecarbamates with possible pharmacological activity as antihelmintics is described; by condensation and cyclization between 5‐methylthioures sulfate chloroformic acid methyl ester and 3,4‐diaminophenyl‐substituted‐phenylthio ether dissolved in ethanol.  Nucleophilic vinylic substitutions of 4H-pyran-4-one and 2-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one with ammonia were calculated by the B3LYP method using the 6-31G(d,p) basis set. Bulk solvent effects of aqueous solution were estimated by the polarized continuum and Poisson–Boltzmann self-consistent reaction field models using the 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. In the gas phase different mechanisms were found for the two reaction systems calculated. The reaction of 4H-pyran-4-one proceeds through enol, whereas a feasible path for the less reactive 2-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one is the mechanism through a keto intermediate. Addition of ammonia in concert with proton transfer is the rate-determining step ofthe reaction. The mechanism proceeding either by a bimolecular nucleophilic substitution (SN2) or by one involving a tetrahedral zwitterionic intermediate is shown to be unlikely in the gas phase or nonpolar solution. The effects of bulk solvent not only consist in a reduction of the various activation barriers by about 25–40 kJ mol−1 but also in a change in the reaction mechanism. The sol-gel method was used to prepare two different starting gels containing SiCH3-groups for the preparation of SiOC ceramics. To understand the role of Si—H bonds in the incorporation of carbon into the SiOC network, gels prepared from a 1:2 mixture of triethoxysilane and methyldiethoxysilane (THDH2) and solely methyltriethoxysilane (TMe) were investigated. Thermogravimetric analysis coupled with mass spectroscopy (TG-MS) in inert atmosphere was performed to attain an insight into the decomposition reactions involved during gel-glass transformation. Samples calcined at different temperatures up to 1000°C were characterized by 29Si and 13C magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) spectroscopy. The presence of SiH groups in the starting gel allows an efficient conversion of Si—CH3 groups into CSi4 sites at lower temperatures. As a result, despite a much lower amount of carbon in the starting THDH2 gel (C/Si = 0.33) compared to the TMe gel (C/Si = 1), the amount of carbon inserted into the SiOC network of both glasses is equivalent, but the TMe sample contains the 10 fold amount of free carbon.  相似文献

The quantification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in flexible multilayer packaging materials using headspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) was studied. The analytes imclude 22 compounds such as aldehydes. ketones, carboxylic acids and hydrocarbons formed by thermooxidative degradation of polyethylene during the extrusion coating process in the manufacture of the packaging, and many of them are involved in the unpleasant and undesirable odour of these materials. External standard calibration using a solution of the analytes in an appropriate solvent was the first approach studied. Aqueous solutions of the analytes provided low reproducibility and the reduction of aldehydes to alcohols under the HS-SPME conditions. Hexadecane was chosen as the solvent since its polarity is similar to that of polyethylene and its volatility is lower than that of the analytes. However, hexadecane should be added to the sample before the analysis as it modifies the absorption capacity of the fibre. A 75-microm Carboxen-poly(dimethylsiloxane) fibre was used to extract the VOCs from the headspace above the packaging in a 15-ml sealed vial at 100 degrees C after 5 min of preincubation. The influence of the extraction time on the amount extracted was studied for a standard solution of the analytes in hexadecane, together with the influence of the volume of the standard solution and the amount of the sample placed in the vial. Standard addition and multiple HS-SPME were also studied as calibration methods and the results obtained in the quantitative analysis of a packaging material were compared.  相似文献
