Polarographic reduction of some potential antidiabetic compounds with more than one reduction site

The polarographic reduction of a number of N'-guanylarylazopyrazole nitrates has been studied over a range of concentration and pH values. The effect of substituent groups on the value of the half wave potential has been determined.     

Dielectric behaviour of solids

A method to distinguish the fourfold and sixfold coordinated binary crystals based on their dielectric constants has been proposed. In addition to the binary crystals including rock salt, ceasium chloride, zincblende, wurtzite and diamond structures, the applicability of the method has also been pointed out for several crystals with fluorite structure.     

On some finite integrals involving Fox’s H-function

In this paper, we evaluate four finite integrals involving the products of Jacobi polynomials, Associated Legendre functions and Fox’s H-function. Since the H-function is one of the most general functions known so far, our integrals yield various interesting integrals, on specializing the parameters of the H-function. Thus we find here the integrals involving the products of Jacobi polynomials, Associated Legendre functions and Meijer’s G-function.     

Contribution of many body forces to the elastic constants of solids with ZnS structure

A phenomenological model to study the elastic properties of the A^NB^8?N type solids with ZnS structure has been proposed. The model explains many properties like Born relation, internal strain parameter, constancy of reduced mechanical frequencies etc. of these solids quite satisfactorily.     

Specific heat due to substitutional defects in cubic crystals

An expression is obtained for the specific heat of an isotopically disordered cubic crystal considering both mass and force constant changes using the method of double-time thermal Green's functions. It is shown that in the low concentration limit, the defect contribution to the specific heat depends only on the force constant change.     

Optimum Ordering Policy for a Multi Item Single Supplier System

An algorithm is presented in this paper for determining the optimum ordering policy in a situation where a number of items are supplied by a single supplier. A problem involving 15 items, which are supplied by a single supplier, is solved for illustrating the recommended procedure.     

Catalytic asymmetric darzens condensation in the presence of bovine serum albumin.

Darzens condensation of aromatic aldehydes with phenacyl halides in the presence of a catalytic amount of bovine serum albumin afforded the corresponding epoxyketones in up to 62% e.e.     

Thermodynamic properties of oxygen compounds I. Vinyl acetate

A complete vibrational assignment is made and ideal gas thermodynamic properties of vinyl acetate have been reported from 100–1500 K. Internal rotational contributions have been calculated using Pitzer and Gwinn's tables.
