Different techniques were selected for comprehensive characterization of seven samples of fly ashes collected from the electrostatic precipitator of the San Nicolás thermal power plant (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Particle size was measured using laser based particle size analyzer. X-ray diffraction powder (XRD) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the mineral phase present in the matrix consisting basically of aluminosilicates and large amounts of amorphous material. The predominant crystalline phases were mullite and quartz. Major and minors elements (Al, Ca, Cl, Fe, K, Mg, Na, S, Si and Ti) were detected by energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX). Trace elements (As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, V and Zn) content was quantified by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). Different acid mixtures and digestion procedures were compared for subsequent ICP OES measurements of the dissolved samples. The digestion procedures used were: i) a mixture of FH + HNO3 + HClO4 (open system digestion); ii) a mixture of FH + HNO3 (MW-assisted digestion); iii) a mixture of HF and aqua regia (MW-assisted digestion). Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) was employed for the determination of As, Ba, Co, Cr, Ce, Cs, Eu, Fe, Gd, Hf, La, Lu, Rb, Sb, Sc, Sm, Ta, Tb, Th, U and Yb. The validation of the procedure was performed by the analysis of two certified materials namely, i) NIST 1633b, coal fly ash and ii) GBW07105, rock. Mean elements content spanned from 41870 μg g− 1 for Fe to 1.14 μg g− 1 for Lu. The study showed that Fe (41870 μg g− 1) ? V (1137 μg g− 1) > Ni (269 μg g− 1) > Mn (169 μg g− 1) are the main components. An enrichment, with respect to crustal average, in many elements was observed especially for As, V and Sb that deserve particular interest from the environmental and human health point of view.  相似文献

Changes of the solution pH due to exposure by high-voltage electric pulses   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The change of the pH of a NaCl solution (139-149 mM NaCl) buffered with 5-15 mM sodium phosphates (pH 7.4) during electromanipulation was studied. It has been determined that an increase in the pH value of electroporation solution of a whole chamber volume, caused by the application of electric field pulses, commonly used in cell electromanipulation procedures, can exceed 1-2 pH units. Several materials for the cathode were tested. In all cases a stainless steel anode was utilized. The aluminum cathode gave a two-fold greater DeltapH in comparison with platinum, copper or stainless steel cathodes. In addition, a substantial release of aluminum (up to 1 mg/l) from the cathode was observed. It has also been found that the shift in pH depended on the medium conductivity: DeltapH of the solution, in which sucrose was substituted for NaCl, was about 5 times less. On the basis of the results obtained here, to avoid the plausible undesirable consequences of the cathodic electrolysis processes, in particular under the conditions of strong electric treatment, it could be recommended that chambers with aluminum electrodes not be utilized and one should use strongly buffered solutions of low conductivity and alternating current (sine or square wave) bipolar electric pulses.  相似文献

This paper describes the formation of a self-assembled monolayer of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) under different concentrations on a gold sensor disk, monitoring in situ and in real time using surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR). The film thickness and dielectric constant were determined for a fully formed monolayer using one-color approach SPR. The kinetic studies of the film formation in ethanol solution indicated that the self-assembled monolayer is formed in a two-step adsorption process. In this sense, this unpublished route was applied on the basis of a model where many molecules are adsorbed at an initial step and then can be desorbed and/or rearranged to form a perfect monolayer.  相似文献

An efficient dearomatization process of [Cr(arene)(CO)3] complexes initiated by a nucleophilic acetaldehyde equivalent is detailed. It generates in a one‐pot reaction three C? C bonds and two stereogenic centers. This process allowed a rapid assembly of a cis‐decalin ring system incorporating a homoannular diene unit in just two steps starting from aromatic precursors (Scheme 2). The method was applied to the total synthesis of the eudesmane‐type marine furanosesquiterpene (±)‐15‐acetoxytubipofuran ( 2 ). Two routes were successfully used to synthesize the γ‐lactone precursor of the furan ring. The key step in the first approach was a Pd‐catalyzed allylic substitution (Scheme 3), while in the second approach, an Eschenmoser–Claisen rearrangement was highly successful (Scheme 4). The Pd‐catalyzed allylic substitution could be directed to give either the (normal) product with overall retention as major diastereoisomer or the unusual product with inversion of configuration (see Table). For the synthesis of the (?)‐enantiomer (R,R)‐ 2 of 15‐acetoxytubipofuran, an enantioselective dearomatization in the presence of a chiral diether ligand was implemented (Scheme 7), while the (+)‐enantiomer (S,S)‐ 2 was obtained via a diastereoselective dearomatization of an arene‐bound chiral imine auxiliary (Scheme 8). Chiroptical data suggest that a revision of the previously assigned absolute configuration of the natural product is required.  相似文献

The rearrangement of vinylidene to acetylene has been studied in detail by the density functional method, using Becke's three‐parameter exchange functional and the gradient‐corrected functional of Lee, Yang, and Parr. The rearrangement of the anion, as well as that of fluoro‐substituted systems, has also been investigated, in order to determine the effect of fluorine substitution on the activation barrier to the 1,2‐hydrogen shift, as well as the relative migratory aptitudes of hydrogen and fluorine. Natural bond orbital analysis is invoked to gain insight into the mechanisms of the rearrangements. Basis size effects are also discussed, particularly in relation to anionic systems. Polyelectrolyte microcapsules composed by using the LbL technique on stabilized RBC as templates were coated with up to ten layer pairs of trypsin/PSS or trypsin/alginate. The trypsin layer growth was confirmed by particle electrophoresis, confocal laser scanning microscopy, flow cytometry, and protein determination according to Lowry. In the coating series with trypsin/PSS, the amount of immobilized enzyme was larger than that with trypsin/alginate. The enzyme immobilization led to activity reduction of up to 90% compared to that of the same enzyme amount in the solution. No significant differences between the activities of trypsin immobilized in combination with PSS and with alginate were found.  相似文献
