In this work, for a representative set of 24 aromatic molecules, that includes hydrocarbons, hetero and charged rings, we explore the correlations between two aromaticity indexes. One of these indexes is based on the bifurcation values of the σ and π electron localization function (ELF), while the other one is the nuclear independent chemical shift (NICS). We observe that the quality of the possible correlations between these two kinds of indexes strongly depends on the kind of rings and on the particular indexes that are considered.  相似文献

A mathematical model for the small vibration of an elastic string is considered. The model takes into account the change of tension due to the movement of the end points of the string. Under the assumptions that the speed of the moving ends be less than the characteristic speed of the equation, the existence and the uniqueness of local weak solution and global strong solution are proved. A branch of relative periodic orbits is found in plane Poiseuille flow in a periodic domain at Reynolds numbers ranging from Re=3000Re=3000 to Re=5000Re=5000. These solutions consist in sinuous quasi-streamwise streaks periodically forced by quasi-streamwise vortices in a self-sustained process. The streaks and the vortices are located in the bulk of the flow. Only the amplitude, but not the shape, of the averaged velocity components does change as the Reynolds number is increased from 3000 to 5000. We conjecture that these solutions could therefore be related to large- and very large-scale structures observed in the bulk of fully developed turbulent channel flows.  相似文献

The Hamiltonian of optical fields in a nonlinear dispersive fiber is studied. Quantum field fluctuations are spontaneously created close to an optical event horizon through the analog Hawking effect. The simplest model is considered for an optical black‐hole laser, where the Hawking radiation is produced and amplified inside a cavity formed by two horizons: a black hole and a white hole. It is found that resonant Hawking radiation originates from a discrete set of instabilities and tunnels out of the horizons. Finally, the numerical results are compared with the resonance and instability conditions and a phenomenological model is developed to give a clear physical picture.  相似文献

In this work we present the existence, the uniqueness and numerical solutions for a mathematical model associated with equations of Benjamin-Bona-Mahony type in a domain with moving boundary. We apply the Galerkin method, multiplier techniques, energy estimates and compactness results to obtain the existence and uniqueness. For numerical solutions, we shall employ the finite element method together with the Crank-Nicolson method. Some numerical experiments are presented to show the moving boundary for the problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine the large body of existing research on outsourcing, and assess the status of research on outsourcing the maintenance of medical devices. Because so little research in this area currently exists, the study was broadened to include other fields that outsource maintenance services, and considers possible applications to the field of medical device maintenance. In all, this paper examines 55 articles spanning various dimensions, including: mathematical models, empirical studies, and conceptual papers. We conclude that research into the outsourcing of medical device maintenance services in hospitals is still in its infancy stages, and that further progress in this field would benefit from additional empirical study grounded in management theory.  相似文献

Abstract. One-dimensional steady flows with heat conduction, treated by the 13-moment theory of extended thermodynamics are considered. The usual well-posed boundary conditions for the corresponding problems in the Navier-Stokes-Fourier (NSF) theory are insufficient to give unique solutions. In order to have unique physically sensible solutions, minimization of the deviation of iterative approximations from the exact solutions, proposed in [1], is used as a criterion. Moreover, the solutions are shown to be invariant with respect to change of consistent boundary conditions - a requirement abide by our physical intuition. In the problems of plane shearing flow and Couette flow, the minimization with respect to two uncontrollable parameters is involved. Metallic materials present a complex behavior during heat treatment processes. In a certain temperature range, change of temperature induces a phase transformation of metallic structure, which alters physical properties of the material. Indeed, measurements of specific heat and conductivity show strong temperature-dependence during processes such as quenching of steel. Several mathematical models, as solid mixtures and thermal–mechanical coupling, for problems of heat conduction in metallic materials, have been proposed. In this work, we take a simpler approach without thermal–mechanical coupling of deformation, by considering the nonlinear temperature-dependence of thermal parameters as the sole effect due to those complex behaviors. The above discussion of phase transformation of metallic materials serves only as a motivation for the strong temperature-dependence as material properties. In general, thermal properties of materials do depend on the temperature, and the present formulation of heat conduction problem may be served as a mathematical model when the temperature-dependence of material parameters becomes important. For this mathematical model we present the error estimate using the finite element method for the continuous-time case.  相似文献
