We introduce a new formalism to describe the polarization signal of galaxy clusters on the whole sky. We show that a sparsely sampled, half-sky map of the cluster polarization at z approximately 1 would allow us to better characterize the very large scale density fluctuations. While the horizon length is smaller in the past, two other competing effects significantly remove the contribution of the small scale fluctuations from the quadrupole polarization pattern at z approximately 1. For the standard LambdaCDM universe with vanishing tensor mode, the quadrupole moment of the temperature anisotropy at z = 0 is expected to have an approximately 32% contribution from fluctuations on scales below 6.3 h(-1) Gpc. This percentage would be reduced to approximately 2% level for the quadrupole moment of polarization pattern at z approximately 1. A cluster polarization would shed light on the potentially anomalous features of the largest scale fluctuations.  相似文献

Oxidative cleavage of the C-20/C-21 bond in apoptolidin (1) provides two fragments of similar complexity, facilitating a divide-and-diversify strategy for the determination of the structural basis for apoptolidin's biological activity, the remarkably selective induction of apoptosis in sensitive cell lines. Baryon rapidity loss in relativistic Au + Au collisions   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
An excitation function of proton rapidity distributions for different centralities is reported from AGS Experiment E917 for Au+Au collisions at 6, 8, and 10.8 GeV/nucleon. The rapidity distributions from peripheral collisions have a valley at midrapidity which smoothly change to distributions that display a broad peak at midrapidity for central collisions. The mean rapidity loss increases with increasing beam energy, whereas the fraction of protons consistent with isotropic emission from a stationary source at midrapidity decreases with increasing beam energy. The data suggest that the stopping is substantially less than complete at these energies.  相似文献

The thermal dehydration of La[Co(CN)6]⋅5H2O proceeded through at least three stages from the temperature range of30~230°C, and an abrupt mass loss occurred around 350°C and the perovskite type oxide,LaCoO3 was obtained at 1000°C. After dehydration, the color of the anhydride changed from white to pale blue around 230°C and furthermore, the color changed to blue around 290°C. These color changes were discussed on the basis of the changes of coordination structures around Co ions. In La[Co(CN)6]⋅5H2O, Co3+ ions lie at the center of the Oh crystal field consisted of six CN ions. However, in the pale blue specimen, Co3+ ions were situated in the center of D4h crystal field which was distorted the Oh one by lengthening of the trans CN ions along z-axis. In the blue specimen, Co3+ ions were reduced to Co2+ ions which were situated in the Td crystal field formed by four CNions as [Co(CN)4]2–. A useful pulse sequence for measuring long‐range C? H coupling constants (JC? H) named high resolution‐HMBC (HR‐HMBC) has been developed. In this pulse sequence, the J‐scaling pulse [(nt1)/2? 180° (H/C) ? (nt1)/2] is incorporated after the spin evolution period, and then followed by an 1H 180° pulse to reverse the magnetization of JC? H couplings. As a result, splittings of the cross peaks due to the long‐range JC? H are realigned with separations of nJC? H along the F1 dimension, and thus even the small long‐range JC? H values can easily be determined. The efficiency of measuring the long‐range JC? H using the proposed pulse sequences has been demonstrated in application to the complicated natural product, portmicin. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Syntheses of 2,2′‐bisalcoholic group‐substituted 9,9′‐spirobifluorene monomers 2 were performed by the reaction of 2,2′‐dihydroxy‐9,9′‐spirobifluorene 2a with haloalcohols. Polycarbonates consisting of 9,9′‐spirobifluorene skeleton in the main chain (PC 4 ) were synthesized by the polycondensation of 2,2′‐bisalcoholic monomers 2 and triphosgene or diphenyl carbonate. PC 4 showed good thermal stability: the 5% weight loss temperature was over 330 °C under both nitrogen and air atmospheres. The glass transition temperature was in a range of 16–269 °C estimated by differential scanning calorimetry, depending on the flexibility of the alkylene or oxyethylene chains of 2 . PC 4 showed high solubility toward ordinary organic solvents such as CHCl3, benzene, and THF, making possible the preparation of the flexible thin films. Very high refractive index in a range of 1.62–1.66 at 589 nm was observed although PC 4 consists only of C, H, and O atoms, whereas very low degree of birefringence was confirmed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A phenomenological model for the vortex-shedding process behind bluff cylindrical bodies is proposed. Relationships between Strouhal frequency St, drag coefficient cD, Reynolds number Re and geometric wake parameters are obtained from mass conservation, momentum conservation in the transverse direction and energy considerations. For the first time, Roshko's (Technical Report TN 3169, NACA, US Government Printing Office, Washington DC, 1954) experimental discovery of vortex-street similarity behind different cylinders is analytically derived. In addition, the empirically obtained Strouhal-frequency laws of Roshko (Technical Report TN1191, NACA, US Government Printing Office, Washington DC, 1954) and Fey (Phys. fluids A 10 (1998) 1547) are also reproduced. Measurements of St and cD including their Re dependency for flows around cylinders with circular, square, triangular, semi-circular and other cross sections agree favorably with the proposed model.  相似文献
