Using the electrospinning approach, various percentages of less expensive metal alloy-decorated nanofiber catalysts have been successfully made as a substitute for platinum in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC). This work focuses on the synthesis and characterization of catalysts with metal fixed ratio of 20% wt for DMFC applications, specifically Ni/CNFs, Co/CNFs, and Ni Co Mo/CNFs. The catalysts are characterized using various techniques, including x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray, and electrochemical measurements. All the prepared samples, regardless of the metal concentration, had good nanofiber form and a distinct nanoparticle appearance, according to the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Chromatography, scan rate, response time, and cyclic voltammetry all were used to examine the samples' ability to perform methanol electrocatalysis. When Mo is added to Ni with Co, the electrooxidation reaction's activation energy and electrode stability both increase. With a starting potential of 0.22 V, the maximum current density in the Ni Co Mo/CNF sample was 99.8 mA/cm2 at 0.6 V. To electrooxidize methanol, our electrocatalysts combine diffusion control with kinetic-limiting processes. This work has shown how to create an effective Ni Co Mo based methanol electrooxidation catalyst using a special technique.  相似文献

Neprilysin (NEP; neutral endopeptidase EC 3.4.24.11) is a ZnII‐dependent, membrane‐bound endopeptidase. NEP is widely distributed in the organs, particularly in the kidneys and lungs, and it is involved in the metabolism of a number of smaller regulatory peptides. Inhibition of NEP has been proposed as a potential target for analgesic and antihypertensive therapies. In this study, new nonpeptidic inhibitors of neprilysin ((±)‐ 1 , (±)‐ 43 , (±)‐ 45 , and (±)‐ 46 ; Table) were designed, based on the X‐ray crystal structure of NEP complexed to phosphoramidon (Fig. 1). They feature an imidazole ring as the central scaffold, acting as a peptide bond isoster to undergo H‐bonding with the side chains of Asn542 and Arg717 (Fig. 2). The scaffold is decorated with a thiol group to ligate to the ZnII ion and two aromatic residues to bind into the hydrophobic S1′ and S2′ pockets. The synthesis of the new inhibitors was approached by two routes (Schemes 1–4 and 5–8), with the second one involving a double directed ortho‐metallation of the imidazole platform and a Stille cross‐coupling, providing the desired target molecules as hydrochloride salts. In a fluorescence assay, inhibitors (±)‐ 1 , (±)‐ 43 , (±)‐ 45 , and (±)‐ 46 all exhibit IC50 values in the single‐digit micromolar activity range (2–4 μM , Table), which validates the binding mode postulated by modeling. Useful guidelines for a next lead optimization cycle were obtained in several control runs.  相似文献

The structural, elastic, electronic, and thermodynamic properties of the cubic NaAlO3-perovskite are calculated using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave with local orbital (FP-LAPW)+lo. The exchange-correlation energy, is treated in generalized gradient approximation (GGA) using the Perdew–Burke–Ernzerhof (PBE) parameterization. The calculated equilibrium parameter is in good agreement with other works. The bulk modulus, elastic constants and their related parameters, such as Young modulus, shear modulus, and Poisson ratio were predicted. The electronic band structure of this compound has been calculated using the Angel-Vosko (EV) generalized gradient approximation (GGA) for the exchange correlation potential. We deduced that NaAlO3-perovskite exhibit a wide-gap which it is an indirect from R to Γ point. The analysis of the density of states (DOS) curves shows ionic and covalent character bond for Al–O and Na–O respectively.  相似文献

This work presents a systematic evaluation of the influence of lipids and casein on the performance of a chromatographic capture step for the recovery of a target protein from transgenic milk. Lactoperoxidase (LPO) was spiked at concentrations typical of those to be expected for transgenic proteins in commercial bovine milk and the dynamic adsorption of LPO to fixed beds of SP Sepharose FF studied in frontal analysis experiments. By removing successively selected components from whole milk, their individual influence on the dynamic adsorption behaviour of LPO could be studied. A mathematical model, fitted to the breakthrough curves of LPO, provided a quantitative measure of parameters describing mass transfer and adsorption in the column. A significant reduction in column capacity for LPO in the presence of milk or whey was recorded, which could be attributed to competing adsorption of alkaline earth metal ions to the cation exchange resin. While the high concentrations of lipids present in whole milk did strongly reduce the column permeability, no significant influence of either casein or low concentrations of lipids on the hydraulic properties of columns or on the adsorption of LPO could be detected. The results indicate that chromatography, which forms an essential part of all current large-scale processes for the recovery of proteins from transgenic milk, could potentially be moved further upstream. Alternatively, existing operations for the removal of lipid and casein could be re-designed so as to maximise product yields. This suggests that significant product losses during current pre-chromatography milk purification could be reduced or potentially even avoided.  相似文献

Novel aryne Diels-Alder reactions with functionalized acyclic dienes are reported. These give useful cis-substituted dihydronaphthalene building blocks in good yield which are not easily accessible via other means, as demonstrated in the synthesis of sertraline. The first asymmetric aryne cycloaddition with an acyclic diene is also reported, giving excellent diastereoselectivities with Oppolzer's sultam as a chiral auxiliary.  相似文献

N-Alkyl oxaziridines may be used as reagents for the oxidation of sulfides in acid-promoted reactions. This article reports on a simple and efficient synthesis of two new trichloromethyl substituted dihydroisoquinoline oxaziridines, a new family of organic oxidizing agents. Their oxygen transfer capability with respect to sulfides as model substrates and in the absence of acid is investigated.  相似文献

We report a template‐free strategy based on steric repulsion for the isolation of discrete columnar aggregates of macrocycles. Specifically, introduction of sterically‐demanding trityl‐derived substituents at the periphery of Pt4 Schiff base macrocycles limits the otherwise infinite one‐dimensional columnar aggregation to discrete tetrameric and hexameric assemblies. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies of these compounds reveal discrete nanotubes of finite length that pack inefficiently resulting in three‐dimensional networks of interconnected void space. The discrete assemblies were studied by N2 adsorption and show enhanced surface area when stacked. In the absence of bulky substituents the macrocycles are nonporous. This strategy for engineering discrete supramolecular macrocyclic aggregates may be generalized to other columnar assembling systems.  相似文献

A promising method for the production of germanium photonic crystals consists of electrodeposition of Ge from GeCl4‐containing ionic liquids inside templates of polystyrene colloidal crystals and subsequent removal of the template. This room‐temperature method gives rise to the fabrication of a three‐dimensional highly ordered macroporous germanium nanostructure (see picture; scale: 2 μm) as a prototype of a photonic crystal.

A teaching experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of journal writing on achievement in and attitudes toward mathematics. Achievement variables included conceptual understanding, procedural knowledge, problem solving, mathematics school achievement, and mathematical communication. Subjects were selected from first intermediate students (11–13 years) attending the International College, Beirut, Lebanon, where either English or French is the language of mathematics instruction. The journal-writing (JW) group received the same mathematics instruction as the no-journal-writing (NJW) group, except that the JW group engaged in prompted journal writing for 7 to 10 minutes at the end of each class period, three times a week, for 12 weeks. The NJW group engaged in exercises during the same period. The results of ANCOVA suggest that journal writing has a positive impact on conceptual understanding, procedural knowledge, and mathematical communication but not on problem solving, school mathematics achievement, and attitudes toward mathematics. Gender, language of instruction, mathematics achievement level, and writing achievement level failed to interact with journal writing. Student responses to a questionnaire indicated that students found journal writing to have both cognitive and affective benefits.  相似文献
