We report a novel force-detected high-frequency electron spin resonance (HFESR) technique using a microcantilever in the terahertz region. In this technique, we attach a tiny sample on the microcantilever end and the ESR signal is detected as the cantilever bending. The bending is sensitively detected by fiber-optic Fabry–Perot interferometry. We applied this technique to a tiny amount (~16 ng) of metalloporphyrin, a model substance of hemoproteins, and successfully observed ESR signals at multiple frequencies up to 0.5 THz. This result indicates that the sample volume needed in multi-frequency HFESR can be greatly reduced by several orders of magnitude, and our novel technique would be a promising tool for HFESR studies of metalloproteins in the future. 相似文献

Self-consistent calculations of spatial distributions of electrons, potentials, and energies of dissociation, cohesion, vacancy formation, and electron attachment, as well as the ionization potential of solid Al N , Na N clusters (N ≥ 254), and clusters containing a vacancy (N ≥ 12) have been performed using a model of stable jellium. The contribution of a monovacancy to the energy of the cluster, the size dependences of the characteristics, and their asymptotic forms have been considered. FTIR spectra of solid samples of co-crystallized adenine and uracil were measured at 10K in the range below 1000cm(-1). New bands ascribable to the N3H (uracil) and NH(2) (adenine) out of plane vibrations, which disappear upon D-exchange, were revealed in comparison with the spectra of pure polycrystalline adenine and uracil obtained in the same conditions. The observed changes relate to the same groups that establish the H-bonds in base pairs of naturally occurring nucleic acids, despite the presence of an extra proton donor NH-group in both molecules. The well-established empirical correlation between the out of plane NH vibrational frequencies and H-bond energies was successfully applied for estimation of the latter in the mixed crystal. 相似文献
